07/12/2025: PortoMatto in Avola was a delightful discovery.
I ordered a first course, a truly delicious risotto: well-creamed, flavorful, but never heavy. The restaurant is elegant, with attention to detail, and the background music is not too loud and very pleasant, allowing for a peaceful conversation.
Special praise goes to the table service: professional, attentive, but never intrusive. I'd especially like to highlight the kindness and empathy of the waiter, Giovanni, who really worked hard to find a solution for my wife's particularly restricted diet, trying to accommodate her in every way possible. In the end, she didn't order anything, but his face showed genuine disappointment, a sign of genuine care for the customer.
Overall, a very positive experience: highly recommended.

08/03/2026: I'd been wanting to try it for a while. I'd heard good things about it, but I have to say I didn't find anything particularly memorable.
The menu seems stuck in '90s weddings: shrimp cocktail, octopus salad, swordfish caponata, seafood risotto, smoked salmon... dishes that arrive exactly as you'd expect.
The food isn't bad at all, on the contrary. But it lacks that spark, that step towards 2026: something original that makes you choose that dish and makes you want to return because you can't find it anywhere else.
It's probably a corporate choice: focusing on reassuring cuisine that guarantees a loyal customer base, accustomed to these flavors, the same ones you can easily find at your local osteria.
I'd rather not go into the details of a small incident involving the bill: nothing particularly significant, but I simply hope it will be handled with greater care in the future.
16/02/2026: We had an all-fish lunch. The starters, first courses, and desserts were excellent. The grill was delicious. We'll definitely be back to try other menus. Compliments to the staff.

16/12/2025: A place immersed in nature, a well-maintained and restored old farmhouse, excellent service, and a very professional maître d' who gave us truly excellent advice. We ate truly deliciously, everything freshly cooked to order, generous portions, and very well prepared (compliments to the chef). We will definitely return with other friends and, above all, we will recommend it to anyone who wants to eat in an excellent and welcoming place. Thank you, you satisfied us all and also gave us plenty of time to taste and chat in peace. Congratulations to all the staff.

15/03/2026: I wanted to write this review because I really enjoyed it and wanted to let everyone know. I visited this restaurant for Women's Day, and even though it was packed and a bit crowded due to the special occasion, the experience was wonderful from start to finish.
What amazed me most was the service: despite the crowds, the waiters were quite fast and organized. Everything ran smoothly, with no long waits between courses, which is not a given on such crowded occasions. The food was truly excellent; you could tell they were using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each course was cooked well and with care; you can immediately tell when the kitchen chooses good, authentic products.
Finally, the bill was also perfect. The price was absolutely fair and correct for the quality of the food we ate, just what I expected for a meal of this caliber. I was truly satisfied, I give it 5 stars with all my heart, and I really hope to return soon!

12/02/2026: I've known La Scogliera for about 15 years, and the food and service have always been exceptional. Last week, a friend and I went for lunch. We waited an hour and a half for a plate of burst mussels and a plate of penne with scampi. The pasta was RAW, tasted like boiled pasta with no flavor whatsoever, and the two scampi on top were also raw. We went to pay, and the bill read: "Pasta with scampi minus pistachio cream." Not only was the pasta awful, but they also took away an ingredient and charged us €50.00. I'm done.
08/02/2026: This isn't my first time here. The two stars are for the food, which is generally acceptable, but the service is truly awful and shocking. You sit down and aren't even asked if you'd like water, they don't have a order list, and you have to constantly call the waiters because they never look around the room and you simply become a ghost. Your appetizer arrives without bread, and another 10 minutes pass before anyone notices you're calling them. And no one even comes around to check on everyone else. That said, I don't think I'll return.

26/02/2025: Locale carino, pulito e accogliente; il personale è alla mano e fa sentire a proprio agio. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo? Ni! Da rivedere, io ritoccherei i prezzi; Considerato il costo, porzioni piccole e care, seppur la materia prima era di buona qualità. Non so se magari possa ritornare, opterei per visitare qualche altro locale.

05/05/2025: Non posso dire di avere mangiato male ma dalle recensioni lette mi aspettavo piatti più saporiti. Ho provato la tartare di pesce spada ma non mi é piaciuta, mancava di sale e non ho sentito per nulla il profumo di agrumi descritto sul menu. Inoltre ho provato anche i tonnarelli marzamemi ma li ho trovati asciutti e slegati col resto del condimento. Inoltre la bottarga non era abbastanza da rendere sapido il piatto che infatti é risultato povero di sale. Il personale é stato gentile e la location é molto carina.
03/05/2025: Piatti davvero ottimi.Abbiamo preso tonnarelli Marzamemi con capuliato e bottarga, porzione abbondantissima e sapore incredibilmente buono, la zuppa di cozze, non la classica pepata ma con un sughetto con pomodorini che ci si doveva per forza inzuppare il pane, aromatizzato e squisito.Poi il coppo con gamberi alici e seppie gustoso perché si sentiva che era fatto con pesce freschissimo! Location semplice e molto caratteristica...anche a mia figlia è piaciuta tutto! ...e vi assicuro che era la prima volta e non siamo né parenti né amici! Complimenti davvero! Anche il personale gentilissimo e premuroso.
