03/12/2024: In tutti i posti in cui ho mangiato a CAgliari in questi 10 anni questo è stato il migliore; antipasti gustosissimi, primi eccezionali, personale gentilissimo e prezzi convenientissimi.

27/11/2024: No restaurant is ever perfect! But the La Taverna di Castello restaurant in via Barcellona in Cagliari, among the many that I have tried in the surrounding streets, comes very close, indeed very close to perfection!! Starting from the appetizers, to the first and second seafood courses, nothing is left to chance. Succulent and abundant portions, with the possibility of eating either inside the restaurant in a rustic and well-kept environment, or outside where, with the temperatures still warm this autumn, it is still pleasant to stay outdoors. The owner is very hospitable, professional and at the same time very attentive to the customer's needs. Imagine that, while waiting for our table to be free for dinner, he joined us with a nice prosecco to make the passing of time less burdensome. Location, food, service, hospitality at the top! 08/01/2025: Three stars but only because it is a small village restaurant. Good starters but not all courses of adequate quality and above all very small portions. Pasta with seafood, spaghetti too thin, not al dente, almost overcooked, very cheap sauce and not adequate for the price of €16. Mixed fried food cooked well and not full of oil but not very mixed... not entirely satisfying. In general, no prawns but only small prawns of questionable quality, Compared to other times, prices seem to have increased and quality has decreased. Just enough rating.

26/01/2025: On Saturday 25 January, just before midnight, I was with a group of friends and we joined two of our acquaintances who were already sitting at the tables outside. We asked the waiter on duty, a man in his forties, if it was possible to join two tables so we could all be together, specifying that two people were about to leave. His response was rude: he said that those people had to leave immediately to "avoid bothering him". I find this attitude completely out of place: it's not his job to decide when customers have to get up, especially if they were still consuming. Subsequently, a friend of mine sat down for a moment on a sofa next to our friend and another girl, just enough time to organize ourselves. At that point the waiter, again with an unpleasant and unprofessional manner, turned to her saying that he couldn't stay there because "it was annoying" and that "we are not in the little square". As if that wasn't enough, he also put his hand on her shoulder trying to get her to stand up. She very calmly explained to him that it was just a moment, but he continued with the same unpleasant attitude. Eventually, we got up and left, outraged at how we were treated. It is not acceptable for anyone who works in a restaurant to behave in such a rude manner. Because of this behavior, the place lost 10 customers that evening.

18/01/2025: Abbiamo ordinato l'antipasto misto mare, era tutto buono, peccato che ci sono arrivate le prime portate nel giro di pochissimo tempo, per le ultime due abbiamo aspettato 45 minuti circa come se si fossero completamente scordati di noi, la pizza per il bambino è arrivata subito ed era pure di bella presenza. Dopo l'antipasto abbiamo ordinato una focaccia con pomodoro fresco ed è arrivata una pizza con pomodoro frullato che ad ogni morso ti veniva da strizzare gli occhi. Volevamo ordinare dolci e caffè ma abbiamo rinunciato perché altrimenti si rischiava di dormire la per l'attesa, lo abbiamo fatto anche presente al titolare e lasciamo perdere. Abbiamo dovuto aspettare pure per pagare il conto con la ragazza che ci ha visto in attesa e non si è minimamente preoccupata anzi.. scorbutica a livelli estremi, dopo che abbiamo fatto presente che la pizza del bambino nel menù aveva un prezzo e alla cassa volevano farci pagare di più. Era uno dei nostri punti di riferimento ma dopo questa esperienza credo non ci torneremo più. Croce!

04/01/2025: Unquestionably the best restaurant in Cagliari. The food is excellent, the staff is very attentive and Marino makes you feel at home and pampered. The only flaw: it's difficult to find a seat and if you're not a regular customer it's even more difficult to find it.

10/01/2025: As a Cagliari native, I say that it is our point of reference despite the wide range of restaurants and restaurants in the city (be careful that many overly "touristy" restaurants and trattorias deceptively offer things like Argentinian prawns instead of Mediterranean red......) . I can say that to our taste it is a safe haven, consistency of quality and truly excellent price/food ratio. We happened to ask for off-menu items for special occasions....unbeatable even on non-standard items.

23/12/2024: Di questo ristorante non si può certo parlar male. A parte il tentativo di venderci qualche antipasto in più di quanto fosse sufficiente (volevamo 2 antipasti misti di mare -ciascuno per minimo due persone- in sei e il gestore continuava a insistere per portarcene 3), il resto è filato tutto liscio. I misti di mare erano buoni (ben cotto il polpo con patate anche se con un goccio di aceto in eccesso, ottimo il tonno con la cipolla cruda, le cozze, in bianco, buone, i moscardini niente di speciale), sui piatti principali, invece, c’è stata qualche sbavatura. Il tonno alla griglia con carciofi crudi sopra era evidentemente troppo cotto - forse perché la fetta di tonno era troppo sottile -, il calamaro grigliato, buono, e’ arrivato nel piatto solo soletto e la spigola in umido ben eseguita ma le mancava la spinta di sapore. I raviolini fritti erano ottimi, buona anche la seadas. Carta dei vini nella media come disponibilità, forse leggermente eccessivi i ricarichi. Prezzo a testa € 56,00.

19/01/2025: Basilio some time ago not only had a name but was also a guarantee. After a long time without passing by here I must say that it was very disappointing!! I'll start by saying that we didn't go there to save money, rather to find quality raw materials, which unfortunately isn't the case. I found more. The seasonings such as oil were not very present and not only that, I was expecting at least Sardinian clams there is something on the market (unpresentable) clams of this type. The paccheri without any type of cream but a typical salt sauce. The parsley It tasted like naphtha, never before in my life and yet we always go to restaurants! I swear we had to resort to having to expel the food we ingested, seriously subject to inspection! Not to mention the dessert, the cake with the soft centre, oh my! everything soft nothing to do with a cake...zero rating

18/01/2025: Restaurant for tourists Mixed starters insignificant, flavor and quality not excellent For the second course, a sole parmigiana that seemed cooked in semolina, without flavor and totally devoid of taste For dessert we took a seadas, they managed to ruin even such a simple dessert, served completely burnt and with very little honey We definitely won't be returning

23/01/2025: Dopo qualche tempo sono andata nuovamente al tropical per il battesimo di mio nipotino. Che dire super accoglienza. Aperitivo buonissimo. Cena squisita. Grande varietà di antipasti, primi , secondi, amari e caffè. Bellissimo il tavolo apparecchiato e anche quello delle bomboniere. Signor Giuliano e la moglie sempre super gentili e accoglienti. Le ragazze che hanno servito al tavolo impeccabili, super attente e gentilissime. Anche questa volta il mio voto è 10.

12/01/2025: Despite the wait, probably caused by a particularly crowded evening, also given the fact that we had a nice big table, the guys in the room and the lady at the cash register were really kind!!!!

18/10/2024: Service alone, resulting in longer waiting times. House wine very good, pizza very tasty. Mixed salad is not recommended.

16/01/2025: We were on Saturday evening, a welcoming place, the staff were kind and attentive to customer needs, we chose a mix of good fish starters and 2 first courses I must say they too were well made and the dessert plus the house wine. more than honest price with bitter kindly offered by the house. What can I say, I recommend it if you want to spend little. Maybe we will return to try the pizzas

12/01/2025: This is really a top fish restaurant. Very well prepared fish. Attention to detail, friendly English speaking staff who know what customers want.

30/01/2025: The octopus tasted like nothing. From the consistency it seemed frozen but I don't know. Clams cleaned badly. The pasta was not bad but it seemed more garlic and oil than clams. Mostly oil. €42 for an appetizer, two first courses and water.

27/11/2024: I'm in Cagliari and I look on my phone and I find a restaurant with flavors of the past, excellent French fries, excellent octopus salad, excellent spaghetti with prawns and artichokes, I recommend you try it to believe the true flavors of the past, I'll be back as soon as possible thanks to you all
