04/02/2025: We recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming local spot that truly knocked it out of the park in every category. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our waitress, Anna-Lisa, was absolutely delightful. She answered all our questions with a smile, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her boyfriend of a chef Michele did not disappoint. The man can cook! Everything we had was cooked to perfection and the portion size was generous—honestly, I couldn’t finish the main course. We left feeling completely satisfied. This place is a hidden gem, and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

02/02/2025: I went on Saturday evening with my son, on the recommendation of a friend. We ordered an appetizer and then, to better evaluate the hand of the chefs, we tasted three different first courses. All the dishes were very carefully presented but what struck us was the balance of the dishes and their deliciousness. one dish above all: chicken plin ravioli, an amazing combination of flavours.

16/03/2025: Nestled on the heights of Domodossola, quality family restaurant and warm welcome. Superb terrace and traditional room in a building of character. Refined and varied dishes in meat, fish or hunting in season. Very careful and original in presentation and taste. Beautiful wine list too. Excellent value for money! Worth the detour!

If you want to eat excellent fish in the mountains, you are in the right place. Nice environment and enchanting view of the city of Domodossola.

10/03/2025: Super recommended, we went for lunch on a beautiful sunny day. By booking they reserved a table for us on the terrace. Friendly and smiling staff, the fried and grilled food is very good, and the house sparkling white wine should not be underestimated. We really had a great time. Correct prices.

16/02/2025: ⭐ 1 Star – Disappointing Experience If you enjoy waiting endlessly for your food, struggling to get a waiter’s attention, and being served the wrong dishes at every stage of your meal, then Il Clandestino might be for you. Unfortunately, for those of us who expect even basic hospitality, it’s an overpriced disaster. Even with an advance reservation. Our dinner took an excruciating 2.5 hours, with each course arriving at a glacial pace. The staff were impossible to flag down, and when the food finally arrived, it was wrong every single time. When we politely pointed this out, instead of an apology, the chef’s response was arrogant and dismissive, telling us that if we wanted “express dining,” there were 120 other restaurants in Stresa to choose from. A baffling attitude for a place charging these prices. Fine dining doesn’t mean slow, inattentive service and inflated prices for the privilege of being ignored. Stresa has plenty of fantastic restaurants—unfortunately, this is not one of them. Note: you will see the owner (chef) has responded below. One cannot add any words to this. His attitude and contempt for customers is self evident in his response. Some people are just better off not being in any service business.

The cibo is ottimo, with piatti prepared with ingredients fresh and of high quality, and the offer of bevande è altrettanto eccellente. The personal is extremely gentle and attentive, soon there will be a shock or fear with a sorrow. The ambience is characteristic and accompaniment, perfect for a serata piacevole. Inoltre, the ristorante offers a menu a prezzo fisso davvero buonissimo, che permette di gustare various specialità senza sorprese sul conto. I prezzi sono onesti e adeguati alla qualità offeredta. Un'esperienza davvero consigliata! German La Meridiana in Domodossola is a must-visit restaurant! The food is excellent, made with fresh and high quality ingredients, and the drink selection is equally excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, always ready to fulfill your every wish with a smile. The ambience is charming and inviting – ideal for a pleasant evening. Particularly recommended is the delicious fixed-price menu, which offers a great way to enjoy various specialties without any surprises on the bill. In addition, the prices are fair and the quality is absolutely appropriate. A clear recommendation!

Da 10 e lode il piatto di piccoli antipasti di mare, da 7/8 i primi e i secondi (consiglio le tagliatelle con gamberi e crema di carciofi). Discreti i dolci. Prezzo adeguato. Tornerei per valutare le offerte di piatti iberici

11/10/2024: Accueil chaleureux ! Mais surtout une cuisine qui fait du bien. Poissons, légumes et salades d’une extrême fraîcheur. Le tout dans des compositions originales mais simples ce qui permet de bien goûter aux produits. On sort enfin des éternelles pâtes, pizzas et autres hamburgers. Les propositions de vin ne sont pas en reste pour des prix convenant à toutes les bourses. Les plats,aussi, à prix plus que raisonnable mais pour un grand plaisir. Merci aux patrons pour leur écoute et leur attention...en français.

11/03/2025: Since I've been there once on the recommendation of a friend, I come back whenever I can: dinner and holidays. For lunch on opening weekdays, first course, second course, very generous and tasty, wine and coffee for only €12. Everyone satisfied, family and friends.

21/02/2025: Usually the second time in a place leaves a little disappointed, especially after a few years. Instead, here, the excellent impression of the first time was confirmed. The food is excellent, typical local dishes with the right portions, you can enjoy a succulent grilled or fried trout from the property's pond. Large spaces for ceremonies and a place immersed in peace. Excellent service, and very fair bill.
