14/07/2026: Family lunch, We enjoyed some good fish, but didn't feel like cooking. This is our first time at PESCE D'ORO in Monfalcone, a bit far for us Udine natives, but the family-run restaurant and the quality of the fresh fish make the trip worthwhile. Signora Margherita is like an orchestra conductor, keeping everything running smoothly, and the result is simple yet flavorful dishes. The final price is more than fair. We'll definitely be back.

07/08/2026: What an amazing restaurant. The owner is fantastic; such passion and joy this man radiates. And the food was so incredibly delicious; all three courses were wonderful. We even ordered a different starter again because we were so curious about the taste. Definitely make a reservation.

13/08/2026: A must-see ever since I was a little girl coming back from the beach. Super Sardinians 🤩 You can't reserve. You arrive and are put on a list. They give you a disc that will ring when it's your turn to eat! The service is very fast.

08/08/2026: Unfortunately we received overcooked and dry spaghetti with seafood, the fried food was poor and expensive, the wine, although sparkling, was not dry but acidic and the whole thing was paid at a too high price.

12/08/2026: The cuisine is genuinely of a very good standard. The “Antipasto al pescatore” which is a mix of hot and cold seafood, is truly excellent. The “spaghetti con alici” is also noteworthy: flavorful and perfectly creamy. The fresh grilled fish was also very good, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. Now for the disappointing aspects. The table service staff were rather young and somewhat awkward. They actually served one of our two main courses before the appetizer, showing a lack of attention to the customers. Overall, the cuisine gets full marks, while the table service definitely needs improvement.

11/08/2026: A wonderful fish restaurant right on the canal. Walking up there, you wouldn't guess it would be such a great place, but once you're there... world-class. We had the appetizer platter, mussels, spaghetti aglio e glio (the best I've ever had), dessert, coffee, and drinks. We only paid €80 in total. The waiters were friendly, quick, and welcoming. 👍☀️

20/06/2026: Disappointing experience: repetitive menu and endless waits. My husband and I had a terrible evening at the Rosenbar. We chose the tasting menu of fish cooked to the chef's whim. There was a lack of imagination: zucchini was often used in various dishes, resulting in a repetitive experience. After a good start, we were forgotten about by the arrival of a group of the chef's friends, with whom the owner's husband also sat down to eat. The highlight was the main course: an hour's wait for just two breaded sardines each, with a little radicchio and four beans. Waiting 60 minutes for such a paltry dish is unacceptable. We got up without dessert and went to the cashier. The chef apologized, saying she'd burned the sardines the first time and then forgotten about us. She gave us a ridiculous discount of only 5 euros (which we were entitled to anyway, since we didn't order dessert). He invited us back for dessert, but that won't happen. We're used to eating much better-cooked fish at restaurants in Grado or Aquileia. The tasting menu and service need a complete overhaul; we won't be returning.

02/05/2026: Family lunch for 6. Spectacular mussel piri piri, as were the gratin dishes. Long wait, but satisfied. Risotto and another first course were both very good. Grilled fish was good, but not exceptional. Normal price.

28/06/2026: Outside the restaurant, a sign invites you to leave a good review if you're satisfied with the place. I'm sorry, but today we played the "Requiem Mass" for this historic restaurant, which was run admirably until a few years ago by an excellent family. Now, however, we have been, despite ourselves, helpless spectators of a genuine disaster! We arrived tired and exhausted from a rather busy Sunday, expecting to find a welcoming, air-conditioned environment, service, and food worthy of this historic establishment, but our expectations were quickly dashed. In the area where our table was reserved, the internal thermometer read a temperature ranging between 29 and 30 degrees. We politely asked, like other customers, for the air conditioning to be turned up, either lowering the temperature or increasing the ventilation, but instead of complying with our requests, we were given excuses that were, to say the least, completely illogical! The menu is a jumble of meat and fish dishes, written haphazardly. We opted, however, for three identical appetizers and three identical main courses. In both cases, the ingredients were inconsistent, didn't pair well, and there was no common thread connecting them on the plate. The egg mousse was watered down, accompanied by salad, burrata, and a crispy speck leaf that tasted like nothing. The main course, the only meat dish on the entire menu, was roast suckling pig, tough and bland, accompanied by the inevitable burrata, almonds, and a few extravagant sauces in a vain attempt to smooth out the flavor! Before even ordering this last dish, we asked if there was a sliced ​​steak or a steak available, but we were categorically told that these dishes were not available. After eating—certainly not for the pleasure of eating, but simply to satiate our hunger pangs—tired, hot, and dissatisfied, we paid the bill, which didn't exactly reflect the quality/price ratio for the food and service we received, and quickly left. Enjoy your life!

20/06/2026: We had a terrific meal at this wonderful find tucked away in an alleyway, discovered by noticing a discreet sandwich board on the street of our hotel. Walked into the courtyard the alley opened out into to discover this wonderful eating area under an extensive canopy. We’d wandered in early to see if we. Might make a booking and a very friendly waitress was there setting up. We asked what time they opened and whether we could make a booking. She said no problem and we were so glad we could get a space. The mains were fantastic, service was excellent. My wife, who is a tiramisu aficionado, thought this iteration wasn’t as good as the one she gets in a little restaurant back home in Hobart, but my cioccolato desert was eye-popping good. And we both had a glass of a local white wine that was great too. If we are ever back in Sežana this is definitely where we will have dinner!

12/07/2026: Last night we celebrated my husband's birthday. We had an excellent dinner, and as a final surprise, when it was time to serve the cake, the staff turned off the lights and, after lighting the candles, sang "Happy Birthday" to us. Very welcoming.

01/08/2026: I've eaten here several times and have always had a great experience. The food is good, the portions are generous and filling, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. I also want to compliment the staff, especially the new blond guy. He's very friendly, nice, and available to meet any customer needs. You can tell he's eager to work and really puts in the effort. The times I've come, he's recognized me right away and greeted us with a smile, always making us feel at ease. I think he deserves this review, because people like that really make a difference. Keep up the good work!
