29/08/2025: A dinner that was nothing short of spectacular! An incredible seafood dinner. We found this place among the gluten-free options in the area, and we never expected such attention and organization, even down to the smallest details. The staff was attentive and friendly from the start. We had two medium-large dogs with us, and they were welcomed into the establishment. The waiter explained the gluten-free options, including homemade pasta, fried fish, and artisanal desserts. A dream for a celiac on vacation. The taste experience exceeded our expectations. A place we absolutely recommend and will return to soon.
28/08/2025: Excellent fried seafood and mixed grill. Excellent value for money. Plus, they're very friendly, which doesn't hurt.

02/09/2025: A restaurant with excellent value for money, considering the fish dishes. Everything was excellent, especially the raw fish, which was paired with flavors that were at times unusual but perfectly executed. Friendliness matched the quality. I would gladly return.

13/08/2025: Excellent restaurant with a sea view. Very professional service; they brought us an entrée, which was included in the cover charge. They recommended a wine from the Roveri winery, which was very good and a lovely accompaniment to the meal.

Nestled in a discreet yet refined setting, Al Vecchio Theatro is a restaurant that deserves to be known to all lovers of authentic, elegant Italian cuisine deeply rooted in the Mediterranean tradition, with an extraordinary view of the Adriatic and the port of Ortona. We enjoyed the squid pasta. A dish of great finesse: perfectly al dente spaghetti, simply coated in fruity olive oil and enhanced by the salty sweetness of the ultra-fresh squid. A subtle drizzle of pesto adds a herbaceous touch that balances the whole. It's the sea on the plate, without artifice, but with a rare precision. The linguine with fresh tuna and cherry tomatoes. A festival of colors and flavors! The hand-shredded tuna and sun-dried tomatoes give this dish a typically Mediterranean feel. It's rustic, generous, yet subtly balanced: the kind of dish that evokes family lunches by the sea, surrounded by sunshine and a sea breeze. Paccheri with octopus ragu. An explosion of flavor depth. The large, melt-in-the-mouth paccheri are topped with an absolutely divine octopus sugo, simmered for a long time until remarkably tender. The pesto at the bottom of the plate adds a touch of liveliness that awakens the taste buds. A powerful, perfectly mastered dish. We loved the impeccable cooking of the pasta, and the fresh, remarkably prepared seafood. A gem, far from the more visible tourist traps. Unsurprisingly, the restaurant was packed with locals and regulars.

18/08/2025: My wife and I had lunch at this trattoria, and I'm sorry to say the experience wasn't a positive one. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the veranda overlooking the sea (if you book in advance) is definitely a plus. However, otherwise, our dining experience was disappointing. The wait was excessive: over an hour and twenty minutes for just two cold appetizers and two first courses. The appetizers consisted of a seafood salad and cuttlefish with crunchy vegetables. The seafood salad was actually composed almost exclusively of finely chopped cuttlefish, with very little shellfish, and dressed simply with parsley and olive oil. The cuttlefish with crunchy vegetables, on the other hand, consisted of a few julienned zucchini and carrots: a dish lacking in character and understated. The first courses were the most disappointing. The linguine marinara was well-seasoned, but the sauce was limited to clams (probably preserved) and chopped shellfish, lacking any real seafood flavor, replaced by a strong taste of oil (albeit good quality). The maltagliati with scampi sauce, the dish of the day, was excessively oily, more like a fish soup than a pasta dish. The whole scampi served on the plate made cleanup difficult: we weren't provided with a dish for the shells or a wet wipe for our hands, making the whole thing awkward and untidy. The final bill was around €70, which we felt was excessive considering the quality of the dishes. In summary: Pros: Friendly staff and a veranda with a sea view. Cons: Poorly prepared dishes, long wait, service not up to par with the dishes. Unfortunately, we don't plan on returning.
02/08/2025: We went to this restaurant for lunch, 2 adults and 2 children. The prices were crazy for the quality of the food. A bottle of Coke at room temperature, because it just arrived, cost €4, pure madness. Zita with tomatoes and scampi (3g of peeled scampi and all pasta) was a modest €18. Linguine alla marinara (clams, calami, and 1 scampi) €18... all pasta!! We'll never go back! Tourism is running away!!

13/08/2025: 1h 40 for an appetizer, 2 hours for a first course that tastes inferior to Conad's "sugo allo scoglio." Can you believe it? The wait wasn't worth it! What a shame! To forget!
