02/03/2026: A very nice restaurant on a lovely street in Alghero! The staff were welcoming, kind, and professional, and were TOP!! We had the "paeja," as they call it. It was delicious, the fish was excellent, and above all, fresh. The only downside was that the paella was a bit pricey. Despite all the seafood being top-notch and super filling, €30 per dish is a bit too much. I recommend eliminating the sausage from the mixed paella.
In any case, this restaurant is absolutely worth eating at!
01/03/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at Alamo, an excellent restaurant in the center of Alghero. The service was impeccable, with highly trained and helpful waiters. As for the food, it was excellent. I recommend trying the tasting menu, which includes a sampling of almost all the restaurant's appetizers, their magical and abundant paeja, and finally dessert, which for us, of course, was their delicious crema catalana. We were truly surprised and felt pampered because we complimented the chef, who thanked us by letting us try another appetizer!
I recommend making a reservation because the restaurant was packed. The only downside is that it's very small and seats are limited for its size, so it was a bit noisy.
Overall, the experience was very positive.

03/03/2026: A recommendation you absolutely shouldn't miss – Sardinian cuisine at its finest!
On the recommendation of our landlady, Mrs. Silvia, we spontaneously decided to have lunch at Il Pesce d’Oro. We had already picked up a business card the day before while passing by, as the restaurant immediately appealed to us – and the recommendation proved to be spot on in every respect.
We felt welcome from the moment we arrived: even our dog was warmly greeted by the two waiters, which instantly created a relaxed, family atmosphere.
The culinary experience began with the appetizer:
raw Sicilian red prawns, exceptionally fresh and flavorful, along with a mixed salad, perfectly prepared, balanced, and of the highest quality. This starter immediately demonstrated the high standard of cooking.
Next, seven different types of freshly caught fish were presented to us on a tray – accompanied by a gentle sea breeze. We opted for the San Pietro for two, baked in the oven with potatoes and olives – an excellent choice.
It was a true delight to watch the waiter fillet the fish – a level of perfection rarely seen. Every movement was precise, calm, and expertly executed.
As a special touch, he even removed the fish's gills for us and served each of us a portion – a rare delicacy and a genuine expression of appreciation for both the product and the guest.
The ingredients are honest, authentic, and sourced locally. We were particularly impressed by the delicious Sardinian blossom honey, whose flavor immediately reminded me of the honey I had bought earlier at the market in Cagliari, just as the taste of the gills was now.
There's no adulteration here – quality is the absolute priority.
The food tasted as if it had been cooked by Grandma herself: honest, profound, and full of soul. Superb cuisine, complemented by the attentiveness of the two waiters, the likes of which we had never experienced before in Alghero. A constant, discreet glance at the table to check if everything is alright or if another drink is desired – always present, never intrusive.
Although we were more than satisfied after the appetizer and the exceptionally delicious main course, we still ordered dessert because of the very special atmosphere of this restaurant.
Because here, food isn't just served, it's celebrated – just like it used to be in families: shared, with time and joy.
The desserts – an excellent tiramisu and the Sardinian specialty tumbarelle – perfectly rounded off the experience. Two macchiatos to go with it. A fitting end.
What makes Il Pesce d’Oro so special is the feeling of being at home after just a short time. This is thanks to the very personal attention from the two waiters. Everything is authentic – from the ingredients to the preparation to the genuine smiles of the staff.
Here, the guest is the top priority.
A perfect blend of traditional cuisine, top-quality regional products, masterful preparation, and excellent, personalized service.
The outstanding value for money deserves special mention.
Payment is made to the owner – and as everyone knows, money is safest in women's hands.
Finally, the waiters deserve special recognition: quick, helpful, informative, extremely polite, charming, and always up for a laugh – a combination we've never experienced before in Sardinia, and one that delighted us immensely.
A concise menu with a clear focus on fish dishes is a particular strength of this restaurant; in the evenings, the selection is complemented by an extensive pizza menu.
The kitchen's performance should not be overlooked: Hats off!
Today, I happened to be passing by again and was once more irresistibly drawn in. The restaurant was almost completely booked, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the fish was superb.

12/01/2026: Lu Furat is nestled among Alghero's old stone walls, as if the restaurant has grown out of history itself. When you sit down, you are surrounded by a soft murmur, candlelight and the scent of freshly baked pizza and garlic that slowly fills the air. It is warm, intimate and completely stress-free.
The food is rustic and self-evident. The pizza has the perfect balance between crispy bottom and soft middle, the pasta is generous and full of flavor, and each dish feels prepared with respect for tradition rather than trends. A glass of wine in your hand, stones under your feet and time that suddenly doesn't matter.
You stay here for a long time. Talking a little quieter, laughing a little more, letting the evening take shape.
Lu Furat is not just a restaurant – it is part of the soul of Alghero, where food, history and presence merge into something you take home with you.

The wait wasn't long at all; even though I went on a Saturday for dinner, I ate my order almost immediately.
The prices are commensurate with the quality of the food and the service provided.
The place is very welcoming, intimate, and warm, although a little difficult to find for non-locals...you have to park your car and walk part of the way (over cobblestones) because it's located in a narrow alley.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, but the most important thing, beyond the charming decor, is the quality of the products. The sushi is always top-quality and delicious. What amazes me most is that, despite the years, they never miss a beat: the quality remains high and consistent, everything is as good as the first time. Truly well done! I always return with immense pleasure. An absolute guarantee!

14/02/2026: For it being February and pouring rain, the dinner was delicious and the owners were incredibly friendly and charming.
01/02/2026: As was the case last year, the restaurant was rather quiet on this Sunday. At first, the staff seemed quite preoccupied with the "family table" (apparently the owners), which made us feel a bit neglected.
However, the pizzas are quite good—the Buffalo, in particular, was delicious—and are baked in a wood-fired oven. It's precisely because of the good pizza that the restaurant earns just under 4 points from us.
Less pleasant was the wait for dessert: we waited longer for the apple pie and cheesecake than for the main course. This reminded us that we had a similar problem last year—we even had to pay for dessert but couldn't eat it because it wasn't served on time due to an appointment.
This time, the apple pie also seemed to have been served very cold, which detracted from the enjoyment. Overall, we've had significantly better desserts in Alghero.
Conclusion: It's certainly worth going here for good wood-fired pizza—but there's definitely room for improvement in the service and desserts.
' ... Come this year, this year the local area was very popular in Dominica. All'initio il personale sembrava però molto occupato con il “tavolo di family” (probabilmente dei proprietari), per cui ci siamo sentiti un po’ trascurati.
The pizza is so good: in the Buffalo part, it has convinto per il gusto, e il fatto che vengano cotte nel forno a legna è secured a punto a favore. Proprio grazie alla pizza il locale raggiunge per noi quasi 4 punti.
Meno positiva è state l'attesa per i dolci: abbiamo aspettato più a lungo per la torta di mele e la cheesecake che per il piatto principale. This tornado in mente che another scorso avevamo avuto lo stesso problema — allora avevamo persino pagato il dolce senza poterlo mangiare perché non era arrivato tempo e avevamo un impegno.
Questa volta la torta di mele sembrava inoltre essere stateta raffreddata eccessivamente in anticipo, il che ha un po’ rovinato il piacere. In Generale ad Alghero abbiamo già mangiato dessert decisamente migliori.
Conclusion: for a good pizza cotta nel forno a legna si può tranquillamente venire qui — ma su servizio e dolci c’è ancora margine di miglioramento.

31/10/2025: A restaurant with a very simple decor, given its location inside a market. It has the advantage of using charcoal to cook the fish. Prices are a bit high, especially for the location. The quality of the fried fish is disappointing, especially at a high price (€20).
