The waiters listed the dishes with passion and expertise, making the choice even more enjoyable. The location is unique and charming, located in the heart of Mattinata's historic center. The covered terrace, enclosed by glass windows, made for a warm and welcoming evening, despite the weather outside being less than ideal. Special highlights: the local scaldatelli, the delicious olives, the chilled sparkling water, and the impeccable presentation of the dishes. A place I highly recommend and will definitely return to. 19/10/2025: We are staying not far from Donna Maria and were looking for something nice for dinner. We found just what we were looking for. The bread seems to be a house made loaf which is a pleasant change from some who just drop some rando bread in a basket on the table. This bread is good quality. We began with beef carppacio which was delicious, especially the olive paste which provided a natural salty component. My wife had gnocchi with lamb ragu and I enjoyed the mezzi ziti with a rich beef sauce. Both just wonderful dishes. Especially with Negroamaro to pair with. We finished with a Crema di ricotta pugliese dessert that's a regional favorite. It was a wonderful meal and the staff were professional and friendly.

27/09/2025: It's hard to imagine a more beautiful place for a wonderful dinner. The food itself – mainly fish and seafood – is truly excellent, and the price-performance ratio is excellent. The freshly baked, delicious bread is also a real highlight. Add to that the fantastic atmosphere and the attentive service, and you'll have a truly unforgettable experience. But the tables with your feet in the sand are the icing on the cake. We'd love to come back! Grazie mille!

04/11/2025: As soon as you step inside this place, you feel like you've entered a TV set: Kitchen Nightmares. But then, as you sit down at the table, begin to fully enjoy the experience, and especially as you wander into the dilapidated "bathroom," you quickly realize you're not in Kitchen Nightmares, but rather on the set of "Operation NAS." We found the "open kitchen" to be a plus, as it allowed us to better see our dishes being prepared by a chef in a T-shirt and shorts, who also served as dishwasher (by hand, as there's no dishwasher, like any other hygiene standard here). The dishes at the table were therefore dirty, as was the entire place, as the photos don't do the harsh reality justice. The owner, dressed to the nines in a suit and tie, thinks he's more like a "four restaurants," explaining that it's a real, typical osteria, though they're thankful no one has ever inspected the exhaust hood. The cheese is on a grater, so guests at different tables can pass it around and grate it on their plates. This entire "authentic Bovino experience," as the host told us, cost a whopping €30 per person, which made us think that if we were the Bovino Pro Loco, we'd immediately file a formal complaint. Before booking, we were warned that the POS wasn't working that day due to connection issues (but not that the menu is fixed), but reading other reviews, it seems to me that the place is in an electromagnetic black hole, since it has never worked. Obviously, no receipt is provided, to reflect the true experience of 100 years ago, when they didn't have cards or cash registers. Don't make the same mistake we did, and if it's already too late, head to the excellent bar and pastry shop across the street, which is very clean, modern, and, above all, complies with Italian health and hygiene standards.

06/10/2025: It's fine for one night. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but poorly soundproofed. The elevator is very noisy. The restaurant offers a limited, touristy menu. However, the reception and restaurant staff are extremely courteous and helpful.

05/10/2025: We stayed just one night, but had a wonderful time. The restaurant was excellent and the staff were top-notch. Highly recommended.

09/11/2025: Cozy atmosphere in a great location across from the square near the historic center. Varied menu with appetizers, first and second courses. Great value for money. Dishes are served in individual portions. The seafood pasta includes mussels, clams, squid, and a piece of octopus, a piece of shrimp, and a langoustine. The pasta with tomato sauce is very tasty. The mixed salad is crunchy. For dessert, the Tiramisu is delicious.

07/11/2025: A traditional, rustic, and welcoming restaurant with a homey feel. Friendly, helpful staff, with clear menu explanations. Excellent extra virgin olive oil served at Peranzana's table. The first courses, main courses, and desserts were delicious. We'll be back.

I have the pleasure of dining here every year, enjoying the opportunity to discover ever-changing dishes and an ever-enjoyable experience. Always a top-notch experience, compliments to the chef, his wife, and the entire staff. Prices are more than reasonable, and the ingredients are high-quality, often home-grown. My only regret... is that I can only give it 5 stars. See you next time.
