17/03/2026: I love this place! I come here often when I want to eat top-quality food (from the oil used in the preparations to the raisin and almond biscuits at the end of the meal), relax, and feel pampered by the staff and by Mr. Michele, an excellent host, supported by the waiter Marco, who is professional and very friendly. I'll add that I'm not a local, but I always travel 30-40 km to my absolute favorite restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent culinary experience.

27/09/2025: It's hard to imagine a more beautiful place for a wonderful dinner. The food itself – mainly fish and seafood – is truly excellent, and the price-performance ratio is excellent. The freshly baked, delicious bread is also a real highlight. Add to that the fantastic atmosphere and the attentive service, and you'll have a truly unforgettable experience. But the tables with your feet in the sand are the icing on the cake. We'd love to come back! Grazie mille!

25/09/2025: Dinner for two on the veranda overlooking the beach. We chose the tasting menu and were very pleased with the fresh ingredients and excellent preparation.

01/03/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant on a Sunday. When we arrived, it took a while to ask where our table was because the place was packed. We chose to sit on the outdoor veranda because the weather permitted. As soon as we were seated, we were served by an elegant and polite waiter, who brought us bread and water, while our order was taken by someone else. We ordered an appetizer and two first courses and decided to wait until later to choose the second course. The appetizer arrived in a timely manner, good but sparse, considering the price. After that, we were no longer considered; we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for two first courses, which cost €16 each. I'm not a complaining customer, but all the tables outside (which arrived after us and were much larger) ate well before us. The waiter, sensing our disappointment, came over after an hour and said we'd have to wait a few more minutes, but another 20 minutes passed. The two entrees were cold and not worth the expense. We ate and left. We were charged the full bill and asked if we wanted a limoncello, but after two and a half hours of waiting, we just wanted to leave. A bad experience.

13/12/2025: A truly positive experience. The freshest fish, cooked to perfection. The homemade desserts are also highly recommended. In winter, the warm atmosphere creates a Christmassy atmosphere. In spring and summer, the terrace with its breathtaking views of the Gargano offers a romantic and evocative setting.

03/01/2026: A welcoming, family atmosphere. The owners are attentive and friendly. We went for lunch at 3:00 PM, having just arrived in Vieste, and they welcomed us with a smile. The food was excellent and the portions generous, so much so that we were happy to return.

10/10/2025: The best ravioli with tomato sauce in Italy! Meals made with garden produce. The lemon sorbet with locally produced amaro is irresistible! A stop at this restaurant is a must on this mountain road if you're passing through Gargano.

02/03/2026: Open kitchen, food served in front of the guest, there is no à la carte menu, not because the host is not able to do it but because everything comes from the best that can be given by Valle San Lorenzo, Macelleria Rocco, Forno di Pasquale, strictly land, territory, tradition. If you have an open mind and heart, a happy conviviality will take place.

08/03/2026: Unfortunately, there's no point in serving excellent food when you're then forced to SCREAM to converse with your guests at the table, given the screams and shouts of rude children running around the tables the entire time, with their parents completely indifferent. Unfortunately, in Vieste, when there are no tourists, this seems to be normal, as the same thing has happened to me in other places. Perhaps a separate dining room or a children's area would be a good idea. The service also isn't commensurate with the price, which is quite high. The exterior, a beautiful olive grove, deserves special mention.

23/10/2025: Review: Chalet Degli Ulivi (visit in August 2025) Unfortunately, our visit was a disappointment – ​​even though we were really looking forward to it after reading so many good reviews. The service was completely overwhelmed: only one waiter was allowed to take orders, the others seemed to wander around aimlessly, only allowed to serve or clear away. The wait was correspondingly long – and even when our glasses were long empty, no one thought to ask if we wanted something else to drink. Our child's meal arrived 20 minutes before the adults', and our plates arrived one by one with an even longer delay. Nothing is more uncomfortable than when one person at a table is already finished while another is just getting started. The playground area was also a disappointment: there was a charge, although this wasn't clearly communicated anywhere – neither on the website nor on Facebook. We came specifically for that. Food? Mediocre. The pasta and pizza were okay, the meat was actually good – but when the wrong side dishes arrive (four sad potato slices for €5 instead of fries!) and the "mixed salad" consists only of green salad, without the fennel or cucumbers as advertised, you eventually lose patience. The ambiance is nice, yes. But a beautiful wooden house alone doesn't make a good restaurant. Anyone who relies on its view instead of organization, service, and honesty won't have satisfied customers in the long run. By the way, we then had to wait another 30 minutes for the bill – a worthy end to a frustrating evening. Conclusion: Nice restaurant, unfortunately with a lot of show and little substance. Three stars – only because the meat was really good.

19/10/2025: We are staying not far from Donna Maria and were looking for something nice for dinner. We found just what we were looking for. The bread seems to be a house made loaf which is a pleasant change from some who just drop some rando bread in a basket on the table. This bread is good quality. We began with beef carppacio which was delicious, especially the olive paste which provided a natural salty component. My wife had gnocchi with lamb ragu and I enjoyed the mezzi ziti with a rich beef sauce. Both just wonderful dishes. Especially with Negroamaro to pair with. We finished with a Crema di ricotta pugliese dessert that's a regional favorite. It was a wonderful meal and the staff were professional and friendly.

05/01/2026: I don't know how it gets such high reviews! Orecchiette with turnip tops floating in the water, all you could taste was the anchovy! Grilled vegetables full of garlic and terrible caciocavallo podolico cheese. Not to mention the coffee, undrinkable! I couldn't digest the orecchiette and was sick all afternoon!! Nope!

29/11/2025: Even though it was freezing outside, the warmth inside enveloped us and warmed us. We were warmly welcomed by two very courteous and professional young waiters, Giovanni and Gianmarco, who guided us and advised us on our culinary choices, always answering our every question with a smile. The food was excellent and authentic. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Monte Sant'Angelo because everyone was friendly and helpful.

18/10/2025: We were here just for dinner - we liked it. It's not the season anymore, so there are very few tourists, and there was no need to book a table in advance - we did it in person the day before without any problems. The staff speaks English. The service is excellent, unobtrusive and appropriate. We didn't take the complimentary wine, but the offered glass of white was very pleasant and went well with dinner. We had a table by the window, but, unfortunately, it was raining heavily all evening, so neither the stars nor the moon above the sea were visible, and in principle nothing was visible out the window)))), but this did not prevent us from enjoying the taste and conversation. In addition to delicious food, the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, beautiful bright design. If we are in these places, we will definitely come back to try the next menu. Thank you for the wonderful experience and mood! Citrus notes in the dishes were wonderful!:)
