31/01/2025: We often come to eat at this restaurant, we like the care and love they have in taking care of every dish and every detail in its presentation. Domenico, the owner's son, is very knowledgeable, always courteous and a great wine connoisseur. Francesco, the chef and owner, always delights us with dishes rich in flavor and prepared with great skill. Their passion for cooking distinguishes them. Highly recommended!

21/02/2025: Luckily, restaurants/trattorias like this still exist, now unobtainable in cities, made up of simple people and authentic friendliness, menus on paper, traditional food made with excellent raw materials, 25 euros each including wine. Thanks to Mr. Marcello who guided us in the choice, thanks to Nino who looked after us. I can't say if that's when we'll return to the Reggio area, 1,300 km is no joke, but if it happens we won't fail to return to Borgo di Bove.

Questo ristorante offre non solo un’atmosfera accogliente e raffinata, ma anche una cucina che sa sorprendere a ogni portata. L’ambiente è un perfetto mix tra rustico ed elegante: pareti in pietra a vista, soffitti con travi in legno e luci soffuse che creano un’atmosfera intima. Ideale sia per una cena romantica che per un’occasione speciale con amici o famiglia.

24/02/2025: 'You eat better at a caritas!' One of the worst places I have ever eaten in Calabria, although eating well in Calabria is difficult, not due to the raw materials but due to the lack of knowledge of the often basic rules of cooking in many trattorias. Lamb ribs with the typical stench of game, this does not happen if the person preparing them knows the correct procedure for cooking this type of meat. Mix of mixed meat to shiver, chewy meat and little variety in the plating: half a sausage, a steak thrown in at random and a slice of raw chicken among other things, (chicken is highly dangerous if not cooked to the core), we ask the waiter to recook the meat, returning after 10 minutes with the same steak without even an apology, all this without a minimum of side dish, dish costing €11 but what about it was worth maybe €3. Very poor house starter, consisting of 1 slice of only 3 cured meats that didn't look fresh at all, a tiny bowl with olives, 1/10 of nduja, a ricotta and a pancake, €10 which was worth perhaps €3. House wine practically like drinking water, service as always characteristic of Reggio where no one considers you if you don't call them continuously, they take away your cutlery and leave you without it, that is, I've never seen such a scandalous place. Ah, they offer you bitters, and these dicks!

05/03/2025: Nice place but it's not a luxury place that offers special meats... it's a very normal place with very normal quality food. yet the bill came from a luxury venue. 1 star service.. very slow. Order taken in a hurry and they didn't even inform us that there were dishes off the menu, we noticed it because we saw the waiters taking them to other tables (from the other reviews I understand that this is a custom) however in my opinion not recommended, for this price you can find better things around or in any case with this price you can eat in places that offer higher quality.

01/03/2025: We had dinner in the cellar of the restaurant on Friday evening and had a wonderful meal. Excellent meat, abundant dishes and quick and courteous service. The open kitchen is beautiful, the restaurant decor is very welcoming and rustic. Fair price for the quality and quantity, €70 for two with a starter, two second courses, three side dishes, 1/4 wine and two waters.

12/03/2025: An old memory. It's a shame, because their products, when they are fresh, are really excellent. Unfortunately, however, it often happens that you find something that isn't quite up to par, like the brioches dough, which wasn't fresh.

Accoglienza SUPER, locale confortevole e tranquillo, cibo ottimo accompagnato da buonissimi paninetti caldi appena sfornati. Antipasti sfiziosi e saporiti, idem i primi ed i secondi. Noi abbiamo mangiato a base di carne/pesce, un mix. Assolutamente consigliato!!!! 😍

18/02/2025: Stopped in for dinner. Had a few drinks and pizzas. Very nice atmosphere. Good service. Delicious food. I highly recommend this place!

16/02/2025: I waited more than an hour for a simple appetizer while other customers, who arrived after me, were already consuming first and second courses. The appetizer, on the single course menu, contained on a plate two slices of cold cuts, a triangle of provola cheese, a scoop of ricotta from the fridge, omelettes and meatballs with a unclear flavour. The sweet and sour onion and olives are good. Finally, I asked for a dessert that never arrived at the table so I decided to give up and pay.
