Very affordable pizzeria for the area (many other places werereally overpriced) Only downside was it was a quiet night so little to no atmosphere but we had the waiter’s full attention. Definitely recommend for an authentic Italian experience a stone’s throw from Lake Garda

What can I say, everything is fantastic from the starter of cured meats with giardiniera to the first courses with pappardelle with divine mushrooms, the low-fat tortelloni and an amazing mixed grill of meat. 06/04/2025: Recommended by the touring hotel we had a large salad for two and two nice pizzas. The pizza is good. There is normal, wholemeal and multigrain. Too bad they arrived when they were still eating the salad. Nice atmosphere even externally. Convenient parking. Good prices for being on the lake. Owner on his own.

02/05/2025: We had dinner at the Belvedere restaurant and had a great meal! Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nice view of Lake Garda (there is a lovely terrace to eat on) at a fair price

12/03/2025: Italy at its very best. Many thanks to the entire, very attentive team. Our stay was extremely pleasant in every respect. On the advice of a friend, we booked half board and were particularly pleasantly surprised by the dinner (of course the breakfast was also perfect). The location is sensational, overall it was a short vacation on Lake Garda like 30 years ago (or before the Inter-Influence era). Greetings to the lake, Ci rivediamo!

12/11/2024: …mi sono fermata per caso in questo locale!!…di passaggio in questo zona…ho chiesto dove era possibile mangiare lo spiedo fatto bene!!…e mi è stato fatto il nome di questo ristorante poco lontano da Toscolano Maderno!!…in collina!!…in località Gaino!!…è “Osteria ai Cantagai”!!…la location si trova in una posizione fantastica!!…pace e tranquillità!!…locale semplice ma veramente intimo e accogliente!!…molto gentile la signora e la ragazza che lavorano in sala!!…dopo avere fatto l’aperitivo ci siamo seduti al tavolo!!…e poi è arrivato lo spiedo!!…con la polenta!!…le patate e insalata mista!!…il tutto accompagnato da acqua e vino rosso!!…poi il sorbetto e a seguire il caffè!!…la signora ha gentilmente offerto il limoncello!!…che chiaramente ho apprezzato molto!!…che dire!!…lo spiedo era veramente eccezionale!!…cotto al punto giusto!!…tutto ben curato!!…come pure i contorni!!…ma che bontà!!…e tornerò sicuramente di nuovo in questa “Osteria ai Cantagai”!!…poco lontano da Toscolano Maderno!!…🧑‍🍳🍽️🔝💯‼️

28/05/2025: We've been here for dinner three times now. The first two times, we were so impressed with the food and service that we decided to have another good meal. Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good this time. The somewhat fussy waitress made us wait an hour for dessert. What a shame! I won't be coming here again.

24/05/2025: Kind, very welcoming and sunny property. Parking available. Very spacious place, overlooking the lake even if a bit far away. Delicious olives!

03/06/2025: I never leave reviews, but this place deserves it. My boyfriend and I went for dinner and we were thrilled! Informal but welcoming atmosphere. The food is excellent, but the pizza... one of the best I've ever eaten. The waiters are extremely kind and attentive, without ever being intrusive. The view is heavenly. We will definitely be back!

19/05/2025: A restaurant for the locals, if you know a member of the golf club, you will have a pleasant time in his company. Most of the visitors know each other, which creates a homely atmosphere. The food is at the level of a good restaurant, but not an explosion of gastronomy. Water, unfortunately, is served in a plastic bottle, which somewhat reduces the impression of a high-level restaurant. Not cheap.

20/04/2025: Il posto molto bello non si può dire nulla assolutamente....abbiamo pranzato oggi Pasqua 2025 il ristorante non super pieno,personale molto disorganizzato..il mangiare ottima qualità... fritto e risotto veramente buono. Comunque personale gentile e disponibile. Lo consiglio.

04/06/2025: Da evitare !! Tempi lunghissimi per tutto ciò… per gli antipasti ( la carne salada e i cuori di carciofo) abbiamo aspettato quasi un ora , con il locale semivuoto. Per i primi ( gnocchetti di patate e i fusilli )è stata peggio ancora .. inoltre arrivati freddi . Prezzi troppi alti per la qualità … Direi anche mai più !

30/05/2025: Comimos en Osteria Gatto d’Ora anoche y fue una experiencia fantástica. Nos sentamos adentro - ya que no había espacios afuera - pero nos alegramos de ello ya que el ambiente adentro era encantador. Había un pianista que tocaba música de jazz hermosa. La comida era perfecta. Mi pareja tiene la pasta de uva y arándanos que fue uno de los mejores platos que hemos probado. Era una mezcla única, pero hermosa de textura y sabor y volveríamos solo para probarlo de nuevo! Tenía la pasta de limón y ricota que también era delicioso y fresco. Al igual que las otras críticas para este restaurante, la comida sabía como si estuviera cocinado con amor. El anfitrión era tan amable y amable, se sentía como si nos dieron la bienvenida a su casa. Recomendaría este restaurante a cualquiera y a todos! No podemos esperar a volver
