20/12/2025: The best lard shop in Colonnata. Mario (the owner) and his wife are very friendly and welcoming. When I go to stock up on lard to take back to Rome, I always stop by for lunch with their wonderful mixed platters and hot sgabei (delicious). I recommend it 100%.

We had fun and spent a wonderful day among rabbits, horses, and other little animals at the edge of the woods. I recommend it.

04/01/2026: Three women, three qualities... kindness, expertise, sweetness. We drove up to Colonnata in early January in our campervan, wanting to do two things: tour the marble quarries by bike and... meet these three. The ingredients for a pleasant experience were there, because the Apuan Alps are a beautiful site... and this place is equally special. Savoring local products while sitting on the terrace with a view of the mountains was beautiful, for the palate, the eyes, and the heart. Their infamous Crèpe with Lard and Cherry Tomatoes is special, as are their products, both savory and sweet, accompanied by excellent wines. We truly enjoyed our stay and recommend this delightful place to anyone passing through Colonnata. Thank you and goodbye.

15/10/2025: This was a fantastic little place tucked away in the middle of nowhere in a little piazza serving the local delicacy Lard and other dishes. Extremely tasty, in an atmospheric courtyard with friendly staff. Possibly one of the oldest bars/trattorias in the area and filled with a cool ambiance. Well worth the trip for authentic regional food.

04/03/2026: The best restaurant and pizzeria in Carrara. I never know whether to have a pizza night or a restaurant night. The pizzas are delicious, the dough is incredible, and the awards they've received speak for themselves. The restaurant is equally high-quality, everything is traditionally good, with incredible and delicious portions. The space is also remarkable, with a beautiful view and huge marble tables—it's really comfortable. The house wine is also very good, reasonably priced.

01/02/2026: I'm always reluctant to write negative reviews, but honestly, for the entire meal, except for the view of the quarry, the ravioli alla carrarina, and the focaccia with lard and cherry tomatoes for the appetizer: cold, unfriendly, and inaccurate service, the marinated cod was very tough and flavorless, the tripe was disappointing, the desserts were unremarkable... and the price was high considering everything. It's a shame, maybe I just had a bad day. I'll be back, because you always get a second chance, and I'll try the pizzas.
