03/09/2025: I spent a lovely day at the beach with my brother. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the kitchen was excellent. The owners are very nice: when we arrived, they provided us with an umbrella closest to the beach, just like the one booked online, but I saw that the weather was a bit unstable. A pleasant spot where we could roam.

The owners are very nice: upon our arrival, they offered us a parasol closer to the beach instead of the spot we had booked online, as the somewhat unstable weather allowed it. A pleasant place that I would gladly return to.

We waited 40 minutes for a drink order, and another 40 minutes for the waiter to come take our order. In response to the owner's comments, yes, I was at the wrong restaurant. It was called DA FRANCO.

31/08/2025: One of the best menu’s I have had for a while! We had the oysters (AMAZING!) and the raw sea food platter for starters and the sea food risotto as primi. And all were of the highest quality. Great wine pairing and deserts made it a perfect evening! HIGHLY recommended!
31/08/2025: Every summer we return to this restaurant expecting the same quality as previous years, but this time we were quite disappointed, especially with the service, which didn't live up to the final bill. On the same evening, in no particular order:
- the waiter serving the raw fish couldn't explain what all the fish on the plate were. The second waiter couldn't help either.
- while waiting for everyone else to arrive, one of us asked for a glass of prosecco that was never served.
- halfway through the meal, having finished the first bottle of wine, we asked for another, but, on her own initiative, she was brought a different, "similar" one, the waitress said, because the wine we ordered at the beginning of the meal was unavailable. Perhaps the wine list should be added. In previous years, there was a competent sommelier in the dining room, but he is no longer there.
One of us asked the same waitress, the one always somber—perhaps a smile wouldn't hurt—if the dish he wanted to order, "rice and curry-gratin scampi," was, as he claimed, a historic Viareggio dish (incidentally, it was a staple on the menu of the then-famous Zi'Rosa for several years). The waitress replied with a firm "no," adding loudly that if anything, it was an Indian dish, but that customers were still asking for it... We found the response inappropriate, both in its manner and content, and demeaning of the dish itself.
In the final bill, we noted that four glasses of Prosecco at the beginning of the dinner cost us 48 euros. Perhaps it would have been kind of the waiter to inform us of the price when we ordered, and perhaps suggest a bottle instead of four glasses.
Compared to last year, we've noticed that prices have risen significantly (for example, the raw ham, now on the menu at 45 euros, was under 40 last year).
The place is always very nice and the chef's greeting at the end of the evening is very welcome and friendly.

04/10/2025: Ordered the spaghetti seafood pasta which came with mussels, clams, squid and shrimp. Presentation and taste were superb. Large portion with lots of mussels and clams.
11/09/2025: Terrible experience! Upon arrival, the view of the place was quite sad, more like a view of garbage bins than a sea view... hmmm... Zero welcome, absolutely unprofessional and uncaring staff (especially given the few customers present). We ordered a glass of champagne and, in addition to taking the glass back from the kitchen, we noticed that it tasted bad and there wasn't even a single bubble. We asked for an explanation and they brought the almost empty bottle to us, telling us that "it must be because it's only been open a few days, but it's champagne"... oh god!!!!!!! 😲🙈🫣 (Meanwhile, they were charging us for the 10 euro glass!). We settled for a prosecco, but history repeats itself and we decide not to argue. The food was mediocre. We went for a barrel-aged grappa to digest the excessive heaviness of the mixed fried food, but we received a white grappa from the supermarket. No apology for what happened, and the price was steep compared to the quality and quantity. A sad experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

16/06/2025: Very tasty pizza and pinsa with a wide variety of options. The portions are very generous, but you can easily take leftovers home. The atmosphere is typically Italian, but the restaurant is relatively quiet. We'll definitely be back again during our vacation.

19/09/2025: We went to the restaurant as a group of five. A friend found the place, and we were drawn in by the fact that they serve steaks. We ordered several dishes: octopus soup, two pastas, fried fish, and two steaks. Most of the dishes were fine, although two people finished their meals before the other three even received theirs.
The steaks were both ordered at the same time, with the same doneness – medium. First one came out fine in terms of doneness, but the other was almost raw. After trying a piece from the properly cooked steak, it was so disgusting that I literally had to spit it out. We told the staff directly that the steaks were inedible and honestly the worst we’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the waitress tried a piece herself (including the almost raw one) and said it was “delicious.” After that, the service noticeably declined – she came to the table less often, didn’t clean up as attentively, and the smile was gone.
After reading other reviews, it seems we are not alone – while one waiter was visibly concerned with what was wrong with our steaks and proposed to prepare new dishes for us, generally trying to help, that particular waitress did not handle criticism well and got offended. They deducted one steak from the bill, but we still had to pay for the other one.
Some dishes were fine and tasty, but when it comes to steaks, I definitely cannot recommend this restaurant.
07/09/2025: Last night, my husband, our daughter, and I went to this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was quick. We found the place and the staff to be excellent. My only regret was that the atmosphere was a bit unfriendly due to some rude customers. But the owners know their job well, and the food is delicious! Highly recommended for dinner! 😘

27/09/2025: Recommended by a colleague who clearly doesn't like us, we go to Bernardone in Camaiore.
The exterior is well-kept, as is the interior. The rustic image of the place gives us hope.
The first course (Gli Gnudi) was good.
There was one problem, but a very significant one: the meat.
The sliced steak was raw and inedible, as was the rib eye; in fact, we chewed it and left it on the plate.
The chicken was dry. The only edible meat was the sausage.
The even more negative thing is that the smell was unappealing.
Now, as an insider, I advise the owner to be very careful; the kitchen checks must be rigorous, because there's a lot of risk.
Then, about the pricing of the baked potatoes: 6 euros for a small bowl?
Food cost, at most, 30 cc... Come on!!
The owner had the good sense to give us a discount.
PS: The waiter who sees all the meat on the plate and asks, "Is everything okay?"... well, maybe he needs some training.
We obviously reported the problem right away.
What a shame, it ruined the evening.
