25/08/2024: The atmosphere of the place is beautiful, in the east there are tables and sofas outside under the olive trees to create a very suggestive atmosphere. The staff, in addition to being extremely professional, is very kind and helpful towards customers. Finally, the dishes have the right balance between refinement and taste. Unfortunately the photos don't do it enough! Honorable mention to the bread they produce which we ordered at least 2 or 3 times, amazing. Everything delicious, I highly recommend this place!

30/08/2024: Due nuclei familiari composti da 5 adulti e 3 bambini. decidono di prenotare in questa trattoria poco fuori Modica. Il solo fatto che abbia dovuto prenotare cinque giorni in anticipo mi ha messo un minimo di tensione: mi aspettavo il locale. fighetto, pretenzioso, algido. Nulla di tutto questo! Abbiamo preso quattro antipasti sette primi e un secondo. Tutto straordinariamente buono, seppur semplice. la gentilezza del proprietario è stata eccezionale nell'accontentare le bambine presenti e nel rispondere alle nostre innumerevoli domande. La mia pasta con i ceci era semplicemente straordinaria come la pasta con mollica e salsiccia e come le tagliatelle al ragù che hanno preso le bambine. Vino con un ricarico onesto, liquori offerti e un cannolo molto buono. Una vera chicca.

29/08/2024: It was our first night here in Munich. We found the place to be close to our hotel, and I'm so glad we did. It was the best Italian meal I've had in years. The food was superb, the inside of the place was super charming, and the service was impeccable. The owner was a very charming man who made us feel like family. We will definitely be going back before returning to the States.

28/08/2024: Location carina, arredo interno molto bello e di design. Eravamo un gruppo di 10 persone abbiamo ordinato un mix di antipastini fritti tra cui le panelle ( ben fatte) e il baccalà in pastella ottimo, ottime le pizze napoletane con bordo alto e i dolci tra cui la i bocconcini di pizza dolce fritta alla nutella e il babà di San Gennaro…una prelibatezza… prezzi nella media

05/08/2024: Tijdens ons verblijf in het hotel vlak naast dit restaurant (ook een aanrader!) dineerden we 2 keer bij Lorenzo Ruta. Er was een groot verschil tussen beide ervaringen. De eerste keer kozen we de 6-gangen degustatiemenu. De menu kondigde het zelf al aan: "Niets is wat het lijkt" en "Elk gerecht is onverwacht en oprecht", en daar is helemaal niets van gelogen. Ook de geserveerde aangepaste (Siciliaanse) wijnen waren top! Bij ons tweede bezoek kozen we voor de 'Tradizione' 4-gangen menu. Hier wordt aangekondigd dat dit menu het verhaal van Modica (de stad vlakbij) aan de hand van locale gerechten vertelt. Dit was ook wel lekker, maar minder naar onze smaak. Wat ons betrof kwam dit niet tot aan de enkels van onze eerste ervaring. Anderzijds kan over smaken en kleuren kan niet gediscussieerd worden. De bijgeschonken wijnen waren wel weer voortreffelijk! Het restaurant en het terras zijn zeer mooi en modern. Het personeel is vriendelijk (al zagen wij dat ze hun frustratie over een andere aanwezige en blijkbaar veeleisende klant niet konden verbergen), maar een groot gebrek is wel de kennis van het Engels (of een andere taal buiten het Italiaans).

13/06/2024: Un esperienza unica, non si può parlare di una cena ma piuttosto di un percorso di sapori inaspettati, ingredienti di altissima qualità lavorati con maestria. Locale molto curato, servizio eccellente, gentilezza simpatia e professionalità.

07/08/2024: Very nice place located in the countryside of Modica and Fricintini and Cava d`ispica very kind and knowledgeable staff, the only flaw is that you must have a navigator otherwise it is a little difficult to find

18/08/2024: Classic place like many in Modica that can be found in the same area. Unfortunately the pizza was not to my liking, because I don't like the type of pizza that is low and too crunchy. But it's a matter of taste. Probably fine for foreign tourists.

18/08/2024: We took 2 pizzas, one with chips and the other with baked potatoes and sausage. Normal pizza, ours were burnt at the edges and raw underneath. Tables on the street

06/08/2024: Local located above the beaches of Marina di Modica. It offers cold meals such as rice salad, couscous and cold pasta...good rice. The ice cream shop is excellent, with simple but also more elaborate flavours, average prices and abundant quantities! You can also find other things, from pastry shops to cafeterias.. Helpful and kind staff, the girl who served us didn't speak many words but the owner and waiter made up for it. Overall passed!

16/07/2024: Inadatto ad una cena, forse buono per un aperitivo. Piatti improvvisati , servizio pessimo, lunga attesa. Pretendevano di fare mangiare salumi e formaggi nello stesso piatto dove era stato servito lo sgombro, alle mio rimostranze hanno portato dei piattini, chiedendo di tenere le forchette. Pane un piccolo sacchetto, dal secondo in poi si paga. Vino non eccezionale. Non mi spiego le ottime recensioni. Tre persone , un tagliere , una melanzana tagliata a cubetti( definita caponata , ma neppure parente povera della mitica caponata), due piattini con un paio di foglie di insalata con 2 filetti di sgombro (in scatola) e tre bicchieri di vino Chandonnay) €75,00. Zona lontana dal centro

06/07/2024: Due sere fa cercavo un ristorante a Modica per andare a cena con amici, però sono stato attratto da alcune recensioni su questo locale, il quale offriva degli aperi-cena e non una cena vera e propria. Si tratta di un locale fuori dell’area tipicamente turistica (e questo è già un punto a favore), situato nella parte alta della città, ma nel quale (credetemi) vale la pena entrare. Da fuori sembra un piccolo bar, ma provate ad entrare ! Proposte e prodotti di elevata qualità, ben presentati, vini eccellenti, personale e titolari disponibilissimi e molto professionali. Io non direi altro perché non scrivo questa recensione per invitarvi ad entrare, vorrei soltanto incuriosirvi. Poi deciderete voi se quel che dico è vero oppure no. Noi eravamo in nove persone (fra cui mio nipote di 12 anni) e tutti abbiamo espresso lo stesso parere estremamente positivo. Buon aperitivo e buona cena. Noi torneremo senz’altro.

12/08/2024: 5 star gourmet restaurant. We went there for lunch. We ate very well...well-varied Sicilian starter...chips...spaghetti with seafood and paccheri with pistachio pesto and bacon...delicious caramel panna cotta...very tasty dishes and refined presentation of the courses ...courteous and extremely professional staff..location immersed in the historic center with a view of the imposing staircase of St. Peter's Cathedral...Highly recommended for those who want to taste particular and refined dishes, letting themselves be enchanted by the baroque cornices and the magic of the city that it offers in its alleys millennia of history and magical atmospheres..❤️

08/07/2024: There is no Modican who doesn't know their specialities, for many years a point of reference for kids and not only, for all lovers of real rotisserie, when you enter you no longer want to leave the place: pizzas, focaccias, pastieri, arancini and much more, all following the Modican tradition. When I go to Modica it becomes my obligatory stop, stop by, you won't regret it. 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

20/08/2024: Raw and cooked appetizers to die for. Octopus with spectacular elimination. Exceptional firsts. Absolutely worth trying.

18/08/2024: Registration with all your personal data is mandatory to reserve a table. After doing so 20 minutes of waiting to find out if there are tables. While waiting, I arrived in front of the pizzeria only to receive a message with a negative result. Maybe it's better if when there is confusion you go back to the old ways.

21/08/2024: Recommended by a local we came across this place where nothing, and when I say nothing, I really mean nothing is as it seems. Change your itinerary, don't waste money on this ice cream shop, it's not worth it.
