22/06/2025: I can't rate the hotel because I only tried the restaurant but it will surely be as wonderful as their cuisine.
We have been coming to this restaurant every time we return to Albenga for two years. Since we discovered it, it has been a regular stop during our vacation. The staff is kind and helpful, the dishes are delicious and plentiful with honest prices, including those for fish.
I recommend everyone to come! Surely, as happened to us, once you have tried it, you will not be able to do without it.

14/06/2025: Welcoming, clean place, attentive and qualified staff, what can I say? The food is a pleasure, in every dish you eat you can see that there is a lot of study behind it and professionalism, well done to the owners who make all this possible, all catering should be like this, often I found myself in the dishes of other restaurants, embarrassed and saying but how do restaurants make food?

13/06/2025: Posto incantevole, un angolo di charme avvolti da atmosfera quasi "provenzale"...ma siano ad Albenga! Abbiamo degustato la "Verticale di Parmigiano Reggiano", un'eccezionale selezione di stagionatura partendo da 48 mesi fino a 106 mesi. Abbiamo proseguito con un tagliere di selezionatissimo Prosciutto Crudo di Parma , il tutto accompagnato da un calice Nebbiolo della cantina Costa Caterina. La carta dei vini è di prim'ordine. ...e non andate via senza aver prima concluso con l'Amaro del Re Carciofo!
10/06/2025: Il posto si presenta da sè.. in una piazza bellissima, silenziosa, elegante, tra ulivi e piante curatissime. Il proprietario è gentile e preparatissimo. Abbiamo mangiato degli antipasti deliziosi, primi e secondi altrettanto buoni. La tagliata con asparagi merita una menzione particolare.. la carne si scioglie in bocca ed il sapore è eccellente. Vino brut francese squisito, dolci ottimi.. direi tutto super! Consigliato e personalmente, ritorneremo!

Excellent everything, service, food, price, Alfonso is definitely the N`1
1000% recommended✌️

23/05/2025: Best sandwiches in the area - friendly service - wonderful location right on the water! Highly recommended to anybody who knows what a real Club Sandwich or Salmon bagel should taste like ! Burger looks great (on my list next time around)
02/05/2025: If you are from Albenga it is an excellent meeting point, the staff is courteous, smiling, friendly. If you are a "foreigner" with zero smiles, you wait 25 minutes for a cappuccino, a coffee and a milk froth with the place half empty (for heaven's sake it wasn't empty, half empty or half the tables were occupied, I understand, but... 25 minutes is a long time!). Then... foam for the little girl made to pay €1! Where in other bars 0.20/0.30/0.50 cents, some even offer it. I'm honest, with all the bars there are in Albenga, we won't be back for sure.
Ps: in response to the owner: in Italian half empty or half full is the exact same thing 😂😂
I have never and I mean never asked for free milk foam. I'm just saying, some bars do it. Never complained if I pay 0.50 cents but €1 yes.
Furthermore, we don't come from big cities, my town has 7000 inhabitants 😃 and we have been frequenting Albenga for 21 years, so we know the area well.

05/06/2025: The only flaw is that the pasta could have been a little more generous (it was really good!)
04/06/2025: It is now a fixed stop on our holidays in Liguria... dinner at the Candidate, in one of the alleys in the center of Albenga, from the first courses to the pizza to the fantastic farinata with onions and rosemary, truly Top. The owner is very kind and joking, what can I say... recommended!

20/05/2025: Dopo alcune volte in cui non mi ero trovato troppo bene, finalmente sono tornato a mangiare la vera pizza di Mammamia per come la sanno fare loro.
Buona, buona buona !! Anche il servizio buono.
Perché 3 su 5 ?
I prezzi delle pizze sono alti, forse un po’ troppo alti,
Erano finite le pizze grandi (teglia da 4 persone), può capitare di lunedì sera ma è capitato a me e io mi sono alzato che avevo ancora fame e purtroppo sul punteggio incide.
Non benissimo dolci e caffè: panna cotta un po’ troppo liquida e dolce, caffè acqua sporca.

Excellently constructed and cooked food. Original and fragrant. Price more than fair compared to the skill of the kitchen and the quality of the products. Really good! The place needs to be spruced up better as it is nice but could be improved.

01/06/2025: Everything was bad. The food tasted terrible and was clearly low quality. The gluten free bere was from supermarket and cost 6€. Spaghetti alle vongole was disappointing. Overall, a very bad experience. Would not recommend.

Very slow service but very friendly waiter
The problems of the dinner that lead me to write this review and above all to advise anyone NOT to go to this place were:
- terrible quality of the food: spaghetti with clams paid €15 WITHOUT taste and overcooked pasta. There was not even a drizzle of oil or hint of garlic. Mixed fried fish rubbery and of very poor quality.
- very high costs: gluten-free beer from Eurospin (I love being gluten-free) 33 ml paid €7! (On the menu the price of a standard small beer was listed at €3.50, so it was understandable that there was a surcharge, but certainly not that big. Pizza for a 4 year old girl with 1 wrustel (literally!) and 4 prawns was €18.
Cooking fee for a 1 year old girl was €3.50.
The prices for the side dishes are truly embarrassing, €8 for baked potatoes and €12 for potatoes and onions.
Furthermore, at the end of the dinner, the prices on the receipt were increased without any justification.
After having pointed out the very poor quality of the pasta, there were no concerns from the manager, but a simple “sorry”
Definitely an experience to avoid if you don’t want to be scammed.
