01/01/2026: We dined on the evening of December 28th, my wife's birthday, with our daughter. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by Elena, who escorted us to a table she had beautifully prepared, with meticulous attention to detail. My wife and I chose the seafood tasting menu for €50 each, which offered a rich variety of mixed appetizers, both hot and cold: seafood salad, sautéed mussels, marinated salmon, bruschetta, tuna with olives, fried baby octopus, and focaccia. For our first course, among the dishes of the day, we both opted for tonnarelli allo scoglio, while for our second course, we enjoyed fried fish accompanied by a mixed salad with walnuts. To finish, we enjoyed lemon sorbet and coffee. Our daughter shared the appetizers with us and chose a mixed grill of fish—sea bream, squid, tuna, scampi, and prawns—accompanied by baked potatoes. What can I say? It was truly an escalation of flavors, everything was truly excellent. The service, both from the waiter and Elena, was impeccable: always available and attentive to every detail. The final touch was truly unique: we brought a birthday cake, and the staff played birthday music in the background. They brought a cart with a shell that opened and inside was the cake, right in the center of the room, creating a magical and exclusive atmosphere where my wife could blow out the candles and take a few photos. What can I say? It was an escalation of flavors with impeccable and attentive service.

09/12/2025: Hospitality and Outstanding Food! A true gem in Albano Laziale! The experience at Dar Contadino was exceptional. The location is very charming, and the warm welcome immediately created a truly pleasant atmosphere. But the real highlight is the food: I found the food to be out of this world in terms of quality and flavor. The tagliata di carne was fabulous, one of the best I've ever eaten. I highly recommend trying the first courses and appetizers (the fried dishes were perfect!). If you're in the area, a stop here is a must. I'll definitely be back!

23/06/2025: We had dinner in the garden, which was very pleasant. Quality food and excellent service. Worth considering if you're in the area.

19/06/2025: Pizza in famiglia buona la pizza il servizio con un bel panorama sulla costa. Ed anche un piacevole freschetto sulla terrazza.

09/01/2026: Very spacious, with both indoor and outdoor dining areas, under large umbrellas. Plenty of space between the tables. The dining room staff is numerous and very friendly. The dishes are generous and of good quality. Prices are average. The fifth star, when I return to continue choosing from the varied and interesting menu. UPDATE After a long time, with high expectations, I stopped by again, but I'm forced to remove the stars! "Antipasto Capannina" was well-plated, but lacking in imagination. As for the first course, to summarize, the chef had a problem with the ravioli requested. He suggested other ones, but after many apologies and a long wait, they arrived, but they were half raw, with the meat inside being inedible and left on the plate. The waiter pointed this out and apologized for what happened. We weren't interested, but professionally speaking, a discount on the bill would have been appreciated, but instead: full-price ravioli!

12/10/2025: We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Borgo Antico. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, what took away from the experience was the service. The staff seemed to lack basic etiquette and customer engagement. For example, when we asked if they had any pizzas with ham, the response was simply, “whatever is available on the menu.” A little more courtesy and willingness to guide customers, especially first-timers, would make a big difference. Great food, but the team could really benefit from some customer service training.

05/10/2025: We went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had made reservations a few weeks out however when greeted, was not asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and asked to pick any table, except all of the “good” tables were already taken up front by the window. So not the greatest most welcoming start to the evening. I only point this out because the “atmosphere” here is almost a negative value. This is literally a large long rectangle with low ceilings, limited decor of Wayfair mirrors and light fixtures thrown up in the walls and wood tables flanked by plastic chairs. The bar was the nicest focal point yet for some odd reason there was tv with sports on directly across from us, and music playing was so odd, everything from pop to rap, it was just bizarre and not classy at all. Server was borderline rude, I noticed they sold focaccia separately so I asked if burrata was served with any bread and he said no, pointed to the menu and highlighted the ingredients and no mention of bread, so we ordered separately. When burrata came out, it was served with 2 giant pieces of focaccia! We literally didn’t touch our separate order. We mentioned this to another server and he suggested we take it home with us. I had expected not to be charged for the extra bread but of course we were. The burrata itself was delicious but presentation was terrible, instead of showcasing the beautiful colours of the peppers and beet juice, it was buried under the cheese and the entire plate was covered with plain, not so fresh looking arugula which was just an odd and underwhelming first impression. Our main meals were pretty good, I had seabass which I found lacking in flavour and husband had pasta with meat sauce. We skipped dessert as portions were large. Overall there is nothing to bring us to return, there are several other restaurants in downtown Oakville that offer a much better atmosphere, service and comparable if not better food.

07/03/2026: Excessive prices is an understatement, service was not present as we ate inside the bistro and not in the tavern, let alone if we had lunch there, we took 2 simple tomato pasta dishes, a plate of sautéed chicory, a plate of peppers and aubergines au gratin + a portion of parmigiana 60 euros we did not take wine. For 60 euros prices out of the norm. Never again

25/03/2025: Cucina casareccia "de Na vorta", servizio nei tempi, con il locale pieno non si può pretendere un servizio lampo. Ragazzi gentili. Insomma.... Se po' fa, se po' fa.

21/12/2025: A classic event venue with lots of people, like a money-grubbing assembly plant. But the problem is the people who continue to find places like this useful. Rent a room, a musician, and catering and you'll do much better.

26/10/2025: I love this place, for its location, for the very well-kept environment, for the courteous staff and good food, I celebrated my daughter's communion and participated in various events always a great pleasure I recommend it

31/01/2026: Let's start with the positives: the kindness of the staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, the service truly excellent. Beyond that, it was a disappointment. Starting with the €8 bill for two coffees and a sandwich, and ending with the food arriving as cold as the coffee, probably prepared before the sandwich was heated. Smiles and a terrace straight out of the 1960s aren't enough to save a place.
