My only regret is that I didn't come to this place sooner!
I'll definitely make up for it in the future!

18/02/2026: I visited Afro on Sundays at noon. Entering this restaurant is like taking a dive into the roots of Friuli. Everything here speaks of Friuli: the staff, the dishes served, and the atmosphere. Here, you can taste Coradazzi Prosciutto sliced with a flywheel slicer, a cutting system that enhances the flavor of the prosciutto like no other. You can see the slicer in the main room, all red and shiny, proudly displayed.
17/12/2025: I've been frequenting Da Afro for years. Owner Dario applies a simple yet extraordinarily effective philosophy: seasonality and quality, quality and seasonality!
The menu changes practically every season, and the cuisine uses locally sourced products, crafted into never-pretentious recipes rooted in Friulian tradition (and beyond).
In winter, a roaring fireplace adds to the restaurant's emotional warmth.

09/04/2026: Sorry, but evidently, judging by all the overwhelmingly positive reviews, we must have been having a bad day.
Latent service, with no help available upon request, no meat options, very long wait times (15 minutes for a bottle of water, 40 for a platter...); outrageous value for money, with some reasonable reservations about the weight (and consequently the final cost) of the rib-eye steak. Furthermore, the asparagus and potatoes were rather cold and undercooked. I'd say: try again and you'll be lucky. But €100 is hard earned, and I'm afraid we'll spend it elsewhere next time. The interior of the restaurant is definitely a plus, it's very beautiful.
09/04/2026: Easter lunch. Beautiful and welcoming place.
The Easter menu included lamb chops, which were raw inside (I noticed complaints from other tables as well).
For my second course, I chose goat: it was cooked but consisted of many bones covered in little meat, which was tough and rubbery to remove.
The dessert (chocolate Bavarian cream) wasn't special either.
Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed.

The dishes are well-prepared, but the portions seemed a bit small.
The service was attentive and friendly, although the kitchen wait time was long.
The prices were above expectations for the amount ordered.

07/02/2026: I'm not giving 0 stars because it's not possible. I want to say that they serve excellent food. The problem is related to something else. I ask for various foods at the counter and so far so good... until I ask for baked potatoes, which are put in the appropriate tray. A tray that the elderly lady takes after licking her finger... so I KINDLY ask if she could replace the tray for me, she asks me why and I whisper it to her... next to me is my wife who saw everything... she feels attacked for no reason but unfortunately she really put her hand in her mouth... the fact is that she should have washed her hands again but she doesn't and only changes the tray for me. Given her old age, I try to avoid any comments or requests that might bother her. When I get to the checkout, I ask for cutlery. The lady replies, "After the comment you made earlier, I wouldn't give them to you." Dear lady, my comment is an objective fact and not a comment made out of malice. Another gentleman intervenes and tells me she's old... so what? Because she's old, can she lick her fingers when she takes the tray of food I have to eat? Not even my grandmother can!!! Guys!!! It's food and you should wear gloves!! What are we talking about... you don't wear gloves? At least don't lick your fingers... I hope next time you're faced with a customer who's more grumpy than me, because I've been far too polite. First and last time they'll see me.
21/12/2025: Quiet and clean place. Carefully prepared dishes. Excellent value for money. Friendly and empathetic staff.

The prices on the receipt are higher than the menu prices (€1 more for each dish)... Absolutely unfair.
The 0.4L beer costs €6. Too expensive (€14 a liter... More than at the Oktoberfest... Absurd).
I don't think I'll go back.
