14/06/2026: Very nice place, we sat in this lovely outdoor garden; the menu was typical of a Romagna osteria, with one huge "BUT." Why only two stars? I'll let the facts and opinions of the twenty or so people we were with speak for themselves, and their opinions were in agreement. We started with two simple, typically Romagna-style first courses: strozzapreti with ragù and ravioli with some cheese I didn't quite understand. The pasta was overcooked and extremely tasteless. What a shame. Now comes the grilled meat, accompanied by piada and two simple side dishes. Piadina was almost dry from overcooking and extremely salty (we almost fought over bottles of water at the table). The pork was of a poor quality and had an unpleasant texture, enhanced by a cockerel that was cooked a little better than the previous course. A small compliment to the desserts: a very good tart and a delicious semifreddo. This review is absolutely not intended to cast a negative light on the place, but rather to offer a critical and constructive commentary on key aspects of a Romagna osteria, even in these dire times of crisis. We were a group of young people, and certainly not expecting a Michelin-starred dinner, but having already missed the cornerstones of Romagna cuisine made me immediately understand how things could end. The service, however, was in line with that of a typical osteria, so it was fine.

08/06/2026: I called the restaurant on Sunday at 12:51 to reserve a table for four for the 8:00 PM dinner. The reservation was confirmed, and everything seemed fine. When we arrived, the reservation wasn't there, which wasn't very pleasant, but it can happen, especially if the reservation is for Sunday lunch. They found us a table anyway. The ordering time was reasonable, without too much pressure, and the waiter who served us (tall, thin, with a beard and curly hair) was very friendly and courteous, one of those people you can trust. He took our order, and a few moments later the wine and beers arrived. Not long after, the off-menu order and the vegetable side dish arrived. Everything seemed to be going well, except that from that moment on, nothing else arrived, and there was no sign of the three entrees we'd ordered. After a good 25 minutes we intercepted another waiter and told him that we had been waiting for a while. He replied by asking if they were the first courses or the second courses. We repeated that after the order, only the off-menu items and the side dish had arrived and everything else was still standing. He reassured us by saying that he would contact the kitchen and disappeared. After another full 15 minutes, we intercept the waiter who had taken our order. I explain to him that after he took our order, only those two dishes had arrived, and I ask for his help in managing to eat. He also reassures us, apologizes for the inconvenience, and after a few minutes, our dishes arrive. We finish them, other staff members clear away and re-set for the second courses. Another friendly exchange with the waiter reassures us about the second courses. The second courses arrive, but not the side potatoes (so much time had passed that I had initially forgotten about them). We intercept this now saintly man again and tell him about the potatoes. He replies that they might not be there, and we agree that if they hadn't been there, it wouldn't be necessary to replace them. Once the second courses were finished, the waiter informs us that the potatoes were still available; having them made after finishing the second courses wouldn't have made sense, so we cancel them and obviously ask not to find them on the bill. So, after an unreasonably long dinner, an unsolicited and unwanted fireworks display just a few meters away, we decide to go to the cashier, pay the bill, and write this dinner off as one of those dinners not to be repeated. We get to the cashier, hoping for the question, "Are you okay, gentlemen?" so I could give constructive feedback on the misadventures we've experienced, but the question is neatly avoided. The pre-bill is read, the man at the cashier reads all the dishes we ordered, and the potatoes aren't mentioned. "Good," I think... and yet, those potatoes were there. When we point this out, the pre-bill is described as cursory by the man at the cashier (definitely questionable), the waiter intervenes, clarifies the matter, and it is resolved; we leave with the certainty of never returning. We ate well, that's beyond question, just as it's beyond question that the waiter who served us had to patch up a lot of things that weren't his fault. But this isn't enough to improve a disastrous experience, it felt like being in an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares".

11/04/2026: The place is nice with a garden style seating area. The pasta was great, felt home made. The service however was too slow given the fact that we were one of the only 2 tables occupied. Might not be the place if you have a train to catch shortly after.

03/07/2026: I wasn't entirely satisfied with the food; the pasta dishes weren't cooked well. The pizzas look beautiful; we'll try those next time. The service was good, and the wait time was reasonable. I'd recommend changing the chef and using fresh fish; it would be a significant improvement in quality.

16/07/2026: Today wasn't the best day... arrived early (12:00) because we had to get back, only a few tables were available and the panoramic ones were already booked... oh well. We ordered two appetizers and two first courses... marinated anchovy crostini, overflowing with too much onion, too much bread (they were crostini), and too many anchovies: it wasn't an appetizer but a full dish and (in my opinion) excessive even for two. In my opinion, an appetizer should stimulate the appetite with small, quality portions to get us through to the next courses. But the best was yet to come: they brought my partner the first course and I saw NOTHING for a full 45 minutes. Even after repeated questions, ABSURD! First: I've never had to wait so long, arriving among the first customers, between two courses at a restaurant. Second: NEVER bring a course to just one diner while the other is waiting, a basic rule in any restaurant. I won't dwell on the quality of the pasta, which is commercial and mediocre. Prices are, however, moderately high and comparable to other much higher-caliber establishments in the city center and just outside the coastal area. I saw goodwill and interest, but little professionalism. The skirmishes between waiters were amusing, but... I made legitimate complaints at the cashier, but the owner offered only one Amarino...!! Left at 2:14 PM. P.S. Forget the still white wine by the glass...terrible. Regards, good luck improving...

11/07/2026: Today I had lunch at Bar Patry in Cattolica and I can say it was a truly fantastic experience. The restaurant is beautiful, meticulously designed, spotlessly clean, and has a splendid panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, making lunch even more enjoyable. You can immediately sense the passion and attentiveness of the owners, Francesco and Simone, who make every customer feel welcome. A special thank you goes to Francesca, who looked after us from start to finish with great professionalism, kindness, and thoughtfulness. She was always smiling, available, and attentive to our every need, helping to make the experience even more enjoyable. The food was simply extraordinary. I chose the tuna tartare: a truly generous portion, so much so that it almost felt like two portions, prepared with the freshest fish that literally melted in my mouth. The spaghetti with clams was also plentiful, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection. Congratulations to all the staff for the passion, professionalism, and courtesy you put into your work every day. It's one of those places you always want to return to, both for the excellent food and the welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

23/07/2026: The food is tasty, nothing to complain about but the portion is very small, the service "they don't know how to put it in glasses" which seems ok to me for a waiter. When they bring you the bill, the tip is included, it's not optional which seems ok to me! (They make you pay for the tablecloth" meaning a piece of paper that they put on the table)

The tomato and saffron pasta is delicious, and the fish (sea bass, scallops, and scampi) are absolutely spectacular. 16/07/2026: Terrible service. Ordered water and Coke, but they never arrived. When I pointed this out to the curly-haired waitress (who had been chatting the whole time with the table across from me, a family and a little girl), she made a face and looked at me furiously. As soon as I put my card on the card machine and paid, she stormed off, angrily, with a furious look on her face. The food was good, but the service was below par, but since that's not an option, Unspeakable!! I gave it one star!!!!!

26/07/2026: We found it by chance and had dinner here in the lovely garden, reminiscent of old-time trattorias: 1 tagliatelle with ragù and 1 mixed grill of delicious meats, good local white wine, garden herbs and anchovies, coffee and complimentary limoncello. The bill was also excellent.

18/06/2026: La Ghenga reminds me of those '80s-era places I used to frequent as a kid...for better or worse, in that the pizza is good but not "modern," thin and wide, but with quality toppings, and the menu is the classic (and unimaginative) one I used to choose from as a kid. The place is also '80s-era, with wood-paneled walls, some questionable '80s-era paintings, and faded photos hanging on the walls. A place where time seems to have stood still 40 years ago (the only sign of "renewal" is the limoncino after dinner instead of the '80s-era peach/lemon/melon vodka). Sure, the ambiance needs a makeover...but maybe that's for the best! For those nostalgic (and those on a budget)
