17/05/2026: Poor quality fish dishes, decent pizza. The atmosphere is 1950s-style, a bit dated. Limited dessert selection, and the ones available are awful (except for the baba).
Having given it two chances, I'm pretty sure there won't be a third.

Easy to get to, friendly staff, excellent food, starting with the soft pizza (excellent)! First and second courses of fish or meat. The choice is yours.

27/04/2026: Under the new management, the menu has significantly expanded to include salads, main courses, first courses with homemade pasta, desserts, and cakes baked by Patrizia and her son, Thomas. As always, you'll find the ever-popular taglierini with cured meats and cheeses, accompanied by soft crescentine and piadina, and a variety of burgers and sandwiches. Opening hours have also been extended, offering breakfast or, if you happen to be there at the right time, an aperitif accompanied by a tasty fried food. Or maybe even a simple coffee...

La Locanda del Castello

03/06/2026: At the gates of Dozza Castle lies a simple restaurant with slightly dated furnishings, but in a wonderful location with an exceptional panoramic view.
For an aperitif or coffee, you can sit in the shade of some trees on a cool, breezy terrace, overlooking the hills and the massive castle walls—a spectacular sight.
For lunch, you can sit either in the large dining room or in the adjacent rooms with huge windows overlooking the valley.
We had lunch with typical Bolognese crescenti (fried dumplings), called gnocco fritto in Modena, and a delicious assortment of cured meats.
The service, perhaps due to a misunderstanding, wasn't exceptional, but it was friendly and very kind, with a touch of typical Bolognese joviality.
Overall, a nice experience. I expected to spend a little less, but not too much.
Access to the bathrooms was really inconvenient; I don't know how a disabled person could manage two flights of narrow, steep stairs.
31/05/2026: Excellent experience, good food in a beautiful medieval setting. The mutton was truly excellent. The wine selection is extensive and excellent. Highly recommended.

17/01/2025: Parliamoci chiaro. Ci sono due correnti di pensiero. O soffice e grossi bordi come la fanno a Napoli o sottile e croccante come tante pizzerie la fanno dalle nostre parti. Questa pizza sottile e croccante come piace a me, la trovo fantastica.
