La Locanda del Castello In Dozza

At the gates of Dozza Castle lies a simple restaurant with slightly dated furnishings, but in a wonderful location with an exceptional panoramic view. For an aperitif or coffee, you can sit in the shade of some trees on a cool, breezy terrace, overlooking the hills and the massive castle walls—a spectacular sight. For lunch, you can sit either in the large dining room or in the adjacent rooms with huge windows overlooking the valley. We had lunch with typical Bolognese crescenti (fried dumplings), called gnocco fritto in Modena, and a delicious assortment of cured meats. The service, perhaps due to a misunderstanding, wasn't exceptional, but it was friendly and very kind, with a touch of typical Bolognese joviality. Overall, a nice experience. I expected to spend a little less, but not too much. Access to the bathrooms was really inconvenient; I don't know how a disabled person could manage two flights of narrow, steep stairs.

Excellent experience, good food in a beautiful medieval setting. The mutton was truly excellent. The wine selection is extensive and excellent. Highly recommended.

Yesterday, a group of 54 of us were visiting Dozza and stopped for lunch at your restaurant. We thank you for your hospitality, your professionalism, your attention to intolerances, your service, and, last but not least, the excellent food. We were all satisfied and enthusiastic. What can I say? We celebrated my son's first communion. Everything was perfect: excellent and plentiful food, good wine, excellent service. No waiting, everything was perfectly organized. It's the first time, with such a large number of guests, that I've been 100% satisfied. The staff was exceptional. I thank Nicolas and all the guys for making this day unforgettable. Nothing to say, just a heartfelt thank you! ❤️ Not to mention the location... breathtaking view of the hills ❤️

This restaurant is located opposite the Rocca di Dozza Imolese. We had good Balanzoni, lasagna, and mutton. The price was perhaps a little high for traditional dishes, but considering it was Easter Monday, it's understandable.

Being a restaurant with a spectacular view, we found a hair in the parmesan.

We had the pleasure of having lunch here and testing out the new management with my clients. It was a very pleasant surprise! The staff was young and attentive, and the dishes were delicious. We tried the Moretto artichoke, and those who ate meat tried the Mora Romagnola. We'll definitely be back! Don't be fooled by the old reviews, which don't belong to the new management.

In the alleys of Dozza, right next to the fortress, lies Corte di Caterina, a restaurant that received us with an exemplary welcome from the young man serving the tables. The management was also excellent; we immediately felt at home. Since we hadn't booked, they found us a table and sat us down. We ate the paccheri alla trippa, with cherry tomatoes and metuccia, with a drizzle of pecorino, delicate and exquisite. The paccheri were cooked just right al dente. The bruschetta was also very delicate, with excellent cherry tomatoes, a top-notch cream cheese, and a delicious, perfectly browned, bland bread. Bravo! Then came the rabbit in a pot, tender in its very tasty sauce, accompanied by delicious baked potatoes. What can I say? If Corte di Caterina had existed in the Middle Ages, there would have been a long line to find refreshments and try their cuisine, complemented by the restaurant's retro decor. Thanks guys, we'll be back to try your crescentine. We saw them live at the next table and they really inspired us. See you soon, Cat.
