16/09/2025: Best pizzeria in town! I absolutely loved the typical neapolitan pizza, the ingredients were fantastic. The prices are pretty low for the high quality of ingredients. I really liked the homemade tiramisu. Absolutely delicious!

Its simple setting evokes typical Neapolitan moments and phrases from everyday life, and the owner is helpful and polite. A highlight is the gluten-free menu, identical to the regular menu. Worth considering if you're in the area.

For me, 'A marenna 'e Mamma' is one of those places. Indeed, it's the place where Neapolitan tradition comes back to life, even in a gluten-free version. As soon as you walk in the door, you realize that everything here is made with love. Nothing is artificial; there's true passion, the kind you feel in the gestures and in the smells wafting from the kitchen, that aroma that takes you back in time to family Sundays. We start with the appetizers, and right there you know you're in the right place. The savory pizzas, the rustici, the fried pizza, the arancini, the gattò, and so many other delights that taste like home. But the moment when everything stops is when the genovese arrives (this is just one of the options on the menu). Tradition in its purest form. And then the meatballs and the pork chop (another option on the menu), capable of bringing back a distant memory and making you say, "Here it is, this is the flavor I was looking for." Behind every dish are Veronica's expert hands, hands that cook as if they were preparing lunch for their own family. And then there's Peppe, who welcomes you like a long-awaited friend. He pampers you, tells you stories, makes you feel part of a big family. And just when you think you can't ask for more, dessert arrives: the Bounty spoon cake. An explosion of flavor, and it's there that you realize there's always room for happiness. The place is a little gem, every detail speaks of Naples and its history. But the truth is that A marenna 'e Mamma' is more than just a trattoria. It's a journey into the heart of tradition. It's an experience made of memories of lost flavors, of the typical Neapolitan cuisine that represents our identity. I found all of this here. 21/06/2025: As a non-Italien speaking wine enthusiast, I would not recommend this spot. Our waiter didn’t know any English hence the communication was complicated and I received a rather mediocre wine without learning anything about it. Apart from that the experience was good, we had delicious snacks and the waiter was kind and quick. Would come back but maybe not in order to dive into the local wine culture.

21/06/2025: I just received the order I made on Just Eat, a saltimbocca (the paesanello) with red aubergine parmiggiana, instead it arrived with mushrooms, how can you get an order wrong on a non-holiday and crowded day?

11/10/2025: We've been there several times because it's one of the few places with a playground for children, but each time we told ourselves it was the last time. They have a fairly varied selection, but in my opinion, they don't have any signature dishes. From the open kitchen, you can see they have piles of pre-cooked sandwiches and burgers, which they perhaps pre-order to get through orders more quickly. The result, however, is that what arrives at your table is almost always cold (ditto for the fries) and doesn't correspond to your specific request (like rare). The staff is generally friendly, some extremely affable and helpful, others (especially one brunette with long hair) almost throw their plate in front of you as if they were doing you a favor. On Saturday, we witnessed numerous disgruntled customers complaining about the same things, and we realized that perhaps we weren't exaggerating. And to make matters worse, they charge, so the place is anything but cheap for the quality of the food served. Receipt optional if you don't ask...

09/10/2025: At just 28 years old, Frank Cavaliere is making a name for himself as one of the most exciting emerging pizza chefs in the Phlegraean Fields. His pizza is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation, a dough that speaks of passion and knowledge of the ingredients. The one pictured is a Margherita made with the direct melt-in-the-mouth method, where every detail speaks of care and sensitivity: a well-aired and slightly speckled crust, a sign of impeccable cooking in a wood-fired oven, and a soft yet firm base that accommodates tomato, mozzarella, and fresh basil. A drizzle of olive oil and a light sprinkling of pepper enhance the aromas and flavors. The dough is light, aromatic, and digestible, with that melt-in-the-mouth feel that only those who truly understand timing and temperatures can achieve. Frank is a curious and meticulous pizza chef, experimenting with flours and hydration methods without ever straying from the authentic soul of Neapolitan pizza. 29/09/2025: One star is even too much, the lady at the cash register was very rude. Yesterday they made two children of less than a year old pay full price for entry when they had very little use for the games available. Moreover, the lady reiterated that they had to pay full price with great arrogance and presumption at the bar if you pay by card instead they treat you like dirt in the face. Absolutely avoid this place never again.

03/10/2025: I visited this restaurant with high expectations, but the experience didn't live up to them. The service was slow and inattentive, and the quality of the food didn't justify the prices. I think they could use more attention, both in the kitchen and in the hospitality. I wouldn't recommend it, at least not until they improve in these areas.
