20/08/2026: We dined this evening at La Villa restaurant while staying in Melfi, recommended by the hotel manager, and were truly thrilled. The cuisine showcases the highest quality local ingredients through elaborate and refined dishes, always respectful of the authenticity of the ingredients. All this is accompanied by the utmost attention and care for us, the guests. The experience began with a welcome from the kitchen and the excellent baked goods, all homemade. We then chose the Chef's selection of three appetizers: * Fava beans and chicory with marinated scampi and crusco pepper paprika oil; * Fried eggplant parmigiana "Secondo Noi"; * Egg cooked at 64°C with garden caponata, Parmigiano Reggiano fondue, and Vulture bianchetto oil. Three dishes surprising for their flavor, balance, and respect for the ingredients. Also excellent were the shellfish linguine and the Lucanian black pig cheek "Pepone" with sweet and sour sauce and creamed potatoes. To finish, the desserts, again homemade, were the dark chocolate sphere and the shepherd's snack... merenda del pastore (shepherd's snack)... meticulously prepared and delicious. The dining room service was also excellent. One of the two young twins, Emanuele, the dining room manager, won us over with his impeccable professionalism, great expertise, and old-fashioned courtesy: qualities even more admirable considering his young age. And the rest of the staff, composed of young and highly trained women, dedicated to providing a high-quality service and always offering their best. The "Lucano Gin and Tonic" was excellent. The quality-price ratio is truly excellent: for a restaurant that has held a Michelin star for many years, the prices are surprisingly affordable considering the high level of the experience offered. Congratulations to the entire team: La Villa is a destination absolutely worth experiencing. We will be delighted to return from Lecce and recommend everyone not to miss this wonderful gastronomic and human experience.

13/08/2026: We ate at La Villa and chose the 7-course tasting menu. The food is plentiful and high-quality, prepared with care and passion. The ingredients are excellent, revisited without distorting the flavor; the staff is extremely kind and helpful. Service is prompt. Furthermore, the prices are very fair for the quality of the ingredients and the sophistication of the dishes. A wonderful discovery! We'll definitely be back!

18/05/2026: It's always a pleasure to meet Michele and Samanta, owners of the Sole di Mezzanotte restaurant and pizza place in Melfi. They offer friendly service, attentive customer service, courtesy, cleanliness, and excellent food. I often return for the pizza and the magnificent gourmet panzerottoni. In recent years, I've chosen Sole di Mezzanotte for family lunches dedicated to holidays and important events like birthdays, anniversaries, and so on. I've always been happy with the service, even with 40 people to cater to. The dishes always arrive hot, and the attention to customer service has always been evident. The tables are always clean and well-set or themed for the occasion, because design also plays its part. The space is large and comfortable, with ample street parking. 18/05/2026: It's one of those places where, when you return, you always feel at home. The food is excellent, and the cuisine reflects the local area: the ingredients are locally sourced, and the recipes are traditional. You know exactly what you're in Melfi and that you're eating the most authentic Melfi, without frills. The pizzas deserve special mention: there's so much to choose from, you can order with your eyes closed; each one is better than the last. The family who runs it is simply wonderful: they remember your tastes and always know what to recommend from the heart. In fact, they should be the ones to rate us! When we go with our kids, despite the confusion we sometimes inevitably create, they never, ever complain. They have an old-fashioned patience and kindness.
