03/03/2026: Excellent pizzeria. You can tell the dough is homemade, with the yeast left to develop properly. Parking can be a bit tricky if you arrive late. I recommend making a reservation.

19/10/2025: A small seafood restaurant in a beach resort. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, using a simple method to enhance rather than overwhelm the freshness of the fish—sea bream in our case. The chitarra alle vongole was cooked beautifully al dente. The dish was truly traditional and delicious, thanks to a very flavorful sauce, and I chose to accompany it with a pleasant local Cococciola. The staff, truly exquisitely courteous, had butter gnocchi made on the spot (I know, butter doesn't sound right!) for our little girl. Despite the price of the dish itself, they were very good. Even the fries, which I usually don't eat and only taste in passing, were quite good for the other kids. The waitresses, as already mentioned, were truly kind, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. The manager was also truly friendly and courteous. For anyone passing through Ortona and enjoying fish and seafood, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a meal at Doppia Vela.

29/03/2026: We had dinner on a Saturday in late March. The dinner was excellent, with excellent local Abruzzo dishes, superb arrosticini, and the best fried meatballs! The place is a well-kept old tavern with soft background music and reasonable prices. We'll be back if we're passing through Ortona! Well done!

The cuisine was traditional, and everything was delicious, prepared with quality ingredients. The owner was very kind and attentive to customer service and requests. We'll be back during our summer holidays. If you're looking for traditional food, I highly recommend it.

The delicate sauces enhance the full flavor of the fish; there are no breadcrumbs, concentrated sauces, or strong spices: even the dessert made with stale bread is simple and elegant. 👏🏻 We also greatly appreciated the white linen placemats and cutlery holder. The staff who served us were very kind, attentive, and friendly. Thanks to all the staff and to the chef, who enlightened us about the history of the family trabocco, which inspired him to delight us with unique and refined dishes.

The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were very kind and smiling. I had breakfast there and noticed that they use quality products. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

23/08/2025: Simplicity, hospitality, and kindness are perhaps the three words that best describe this beach resort and restaurant between Francavilla and Ortona. I came here with my partner and two girls for a quiet day at the beach, and everything went really well. Not too many rows of umbrellas, really good prices. A quiet, family-friendly atmosphere, excellent value for money at the restaurant with a full sea view, and that lived-in atmosphere that's missing from so many more upscale establishments. We had a wonderful time, thank you!

15/11/2025: We went to this venue for dinner on its first winter opening night, with dinner and ballroom dancing. The food was carefully prepared and very good. Excellent service, everyone was friendly, and the fun was guaranteed. A piece of advice: remove some of the tables at the dance floor, which weren't needed anyway, to widen the dance floor, which unfortunately isn't very big.
