07/12/2025: We tried several dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. We asked for something off the menu (Goan chicken - chicken in coconut milk sauce) and they accommodated us.
We paid about 40 euros each and had a pleasant evening.
I should say that if we ordered half the food, we would have still been full and satisfied; we got carried away with the deliciousness of the specialties.
The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

29/12/2025: I ordered a pratha kebab on just eat and it was probably the worst delivery I have ever eaten, super soggy, terrible sauces and vegetable. The meat was like a big hunk of hard mush. the only time in my life I've complained of recieving too much food
16/12/2025: I've been going to India for almost 30 years, so I know its cuisine well, which I love. This tiny restaurant offers the best and most authentic Indian food in Bologna, with very fair prices and generous portions. Truly exceptional.

24/02/2026: Very good restaurant, extremely friendly staff. I read many reviews about the extreme spiciness, but it's certainly a matter of habit. I personally didn't find it that extreme. The spiciest dishes are marked, and obviously, we're talking about very spicy dishes. Besides the chili pepper, the spices also contribute, but it's all bearable if you're used to enjoying spicy dishes! The icing on the cake for a dinner at the Taj Mahal is the mango lassi at the end of the meal, but it also helps tone down the heat if you like. ;) The rosewater one is also excellent!
14/02/2026: A welcoming restaurant with traditional furnishings and refined, delicate cuisine. The staff is always friendly and attentive to requests. An excellent journey through Indian delicacies at a fair price. I highly recommend it.

26/01/2026: I was a customer of Maharaja when it was located on Via d'Azeglio. The move has definitely improved this restaurant, starting with the availability of parking!
As soon as you enter, you're greeted by a warm, family atmosphere, thanks in large part to the two owner brothers, always smiling, helpful, and attentive to every detail. You can immediately sense the passion they put into their work.
The food is simply fantastic: authentic flavors, well-balanced spices, and dishes prepared with great care. The presentation of the dishes is also excellent, and the service is perfect.
Recommended!

29/12/2025: Cuisine with bold flavors. The chutney and tandoori chicken are truly delicious, and the samosas are slightly greasy. The Indian beer is a pleasant surprise. The bill is a bit high. Extremely friendly staff.

I always find the food pleasant and tasty, with generous portions.
In addition to the à la carte selection, there are tasting menus featuring meat, fish, and vegetables.
The dishes are spicy, but not excessively hot, unless requested.
Personally, I find them very balanced.

07/12/2025: We accidentally discovered a corner of Punjab in the lower Reggio Emilia area. The cuisine is amazing (vegetarian and eggless, according to Sikhism). The menu features typical Indian street food dishes we've never encountered in standard Indian restaurants: Chole bhature, incredibly soft fried bread (Bathure) accompanied by a chickpea curry (of which we were served a generous refill), or Panipuri, small, hollow fried rolls filled with a mixture of boiled potatoes, chickpeas, and onion, sweet and sour sauce, and a spicy, flavored water. Their achaar, pickled vegetables (spiced, of course), is also excellent.
The staff is extremely friendly and open to conversation. The place also serves a pastry shop. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

19/02/2026: Simply the best Indian restaurant in Bologna. I recommend the mint chicken, the chicken in cashew sauce, the spicy chicken wings, and the potato naan. I'd also add that every time I order something new, it never disappoints. Special mention goes to the waiters, who are pleasant, skilled, and always friendly.
16/02/2026: We arrived at 1:45 PM and asked if we could have lunch, and the waiter nodded and showed us to the table. There were two other people in the room. He brought us the menus, and we ordered one dish each. From that moment on, the impatient waiter began to pressure us to hurry because he had to close the restaurant. We would have ordered something else, but we didn't feel comfortable.
No white rice...we should have ordered that earlier! Oh well. Delicious food! Go in the evening or at 12:00 PM.
