The restaurant is signposted "Nur Jahan - Ristorante Indiano". At 7 pm we were the only guests, and the plastic tablecloths weren't very inviting. But thanks to the friendly service and delicious food, we can recommend the restaurant. By 8:30 pm every table was occupied.

I've been here for dinner several times and have always found the food to be delicious, the service friendly, and the prices excellent. The portions are generous (considering that you can order multiple dishes at once). I highly recommend it!

The staff are incredibly kind, the atmosphere is different, and they truly make you feel more than at home because they're so welcoming. The traditional food is delicious, made with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend it!

The place is dated and uninviting, but don't be fooled by the appearance. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. Being Indian cuisine, spices are abundant. Special mention goes to the various types of bread and the fried appetizers. Booking online also offers a nice discount at checkout. Since it's not very large, reservations are recommended.

Taj Mahal Take Away and Fast Food

16/12/2025: I've been going to India for almost 30 years, so I know its cuisine well, which I love. This tiny restaurant offers the best and most authentic Indian food in Bologna, with very fair prices and generous portions. Truly exceptional.
28/11/2025: Writing as an Indian: it's a takeaway place where you can find satisfying North Indian food (much better than some restaurants in the area). Obviously, the taste is adequate for an Italian-European clientele, but the food here is good. I would also recommend trying the kebab and lentil and meat dishes, especially the palak chicken (chicken in a spinach base with typical North Indian spices).

09/05/2026: Great experience, with the option of an all-you-can-eat or à la carte menu. We went as a group of five and were seated on Friday at 9 pm even without a reservation. The venue and decor are typically intimidating. The music is a bit monotonous. Impeccable and very friendly service. Good food, spicy and piquant. The lamb was incredibly tender, the baked chicken pieces dry, and the milk drink they recommended was excellent for toning down the spiciness. Just a note: the chairs were disproportionate to the table. The price was fair. We ordered from the menu.
14/04/2026: If you want to try a variety of Indian specialties, this is the place to go. It's a shame about the parking, but like almost all places in the historic center, it suffers from this.
