12/05/2025: Sono tornato a provare la cucina di Kokoroya per una pausa pranzo a Torino dopo quasi dieci anni dalla mia ultima visita e che dire, mi riesce difficile descrivere le emozioni che mi ha suscitato varcare nuovamente la soglia di quel piccolo locale che ha continuato a vivere nei miei ricordi, rimasto tale e quale a come l'avevo lasciato. E non solo il locale: la cortesia dei proprietari, così come la bontà e genuinità del cibo oggetto è ancora oggi la stessa: ci si sente a casa, un piccolo angolo di realtà giapponese dove si ha la certezza di poter assaporare piatti tipici eseguiti a regola d'arte, che conservano il fascino della loro semplicità senza perdersi in troppi fronzoli. Vantaggiose come sempre le opzioni bento box, kurokke con zucca e patate sempre consigliate così come l'anguilla, da sola o accompagnata col riso in forma don. Ramen davvero gradevole, pulito nei sapori e per nulla impegnativo, si fa mangiare che è un piacere. Il locale, essendo davvero piccino, lavora molto di take-away e, per chi lo desiderasse, offre ancora la possibilità di acquistare ingredienti, vivande e quant'altro provenienti direttamente dal Giappone. Prezzi onestissimi per la qualità offerta, consiglio di provare ad effettuare almeno una volta una consumazione sul posto per godere della magia che il piccolo, grande Kokoroya è ancora in grado di sprigionare a distanza di svariati anni dall'apertura, e che sono sicuro continuerà a fare anche in futuro!

13/05/2025: Near home we have a really wide choice in terms of Sushi, but UMI has become our certainty for many reasons. First of all, the environment is very "green" (see photo) and above all quiet: you can talk calmly and the tables are just the right distance (or distance) that allows for the right privacy and the greenery that surrounds the room also offers a certain relaxation. We opted for the "ALL YOU CAN IT" formula that in other restaurants has never particularly satisfied us, but here I have to say that the food is very very good, the fish is (not obviously) fresh and of excellent quality. A very wide menu offers the possibility of ranging between multiple choices. The fried foods are very dry, not at all obvious. ONLY WARNING: when you opt for this formula, the advice is not to order everything at once but to think carefully because you can also make two orders, the amount remains the same. I say this because it is easy to get gorged especially if you arrive with a certain appetite. Recommended, YOU CAN'T WRONG.

28/04/2025: One of the best Japanese-style restaurants in the city. A la carte or all-you-can eat service at the table, always friendly and quick (it obviously depends a lot on how crowded the place is). It is useful to order on your smartphone via webapp after connecting to wifi. The variety of choices on the list is very wide, both as sushi (sashimi, futomaki, uramaki, nigiri, ...) and as dishes with a perhaps less oriental flavor (tonkatsu, yakisake, tartare, tempura, ...). Tables well spaced between them and there is also an external dehor.

The food is simply delicious: each dish is prepared with great care, very fresh ingredients and impeccable presentation. The staff is extremely kind, attentive and professional, they made us feel welcomed and pampered throughout the evening. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxing, with soft lighting and a refined decor that makes the environment intimate and refined — perfect for a special occasion like ours. Every detail, from the impeccable service to the harmony of flavors, made the evening perfect. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommended!

18/05/2025: The sushi is good and well made, but the service leaves much to be desired. We waited almost two and a half hours for all the dishes to arrive, and the staff was uninterested, with several mistakes on the orders. Too bad, because the quality of the food deserves more.
