07/04/2026: The food was delicious, and I have no complaints there. However, I wasn't pleased with the service. Everything was rushed, and when we arrived, there were several empty tables, so I didn't understand why they wanted to take my plate away when I hadn't finished eating.
What really bothered me was that they removed the plate that was under the dessert while I was still eating it. I hope to return another time with friends so they can try the food, and I trust that the service will improve and that an experience like this won't happen again.
07/04/2026: The restaurant is in a charming setting. The food is beautifully prepared, especially the char sirloin steak. They are catering specialists. The owner always finds solutions for those who haven't booked.

We tried almost everything we found during our stay in the area...
From Buchtel pastries to cakes and various tarts; fabulous!
The hazelnut and elderberry cake was a standout... incredible.

06/04/2026: A small trattoria in Val Saisera, serving traditional dishes. Excellent hospitality and fast, accurate service. The food was good, and the price was good. The view from the outside was excellent! Well done!
24/03/2026: Really good, excellent food and friendly service. Too bad you have to pay a 5 euro tax to the Malborghetto/Valbruna municipality to get to the restaurant.

04/03/2026: The originally planned beer stop turned into a hearty, high-calorie mountain lunch. It would have been more pleasant to sit outside given the beautiful sunny day. The food, however, was good. The refuge's location offers a magnificent view of the Julian Alps. It's reached after a pleasant climb, with lovely huts along the way. Suitable for all seasons.
20/02/2026: Wonderful little refuge, very friendly staff, stopped by for a delicious breakfast. We'll definitely be back for a whole weekend!

16/12/2025: I was in the area for work... Without a reservation, they welcomed us and seated us for a workers' lunch... A very respectable menu. Very quick, home-cooked food... A well-kept and typical restaurant. I can't wait to come and enjoy an à la carte lunch... I tried a strudel... This one was also delicious....

19/10/2025: I'm sorry to give it 2 stars because I understand the work that goes into running a refuge and appreciate it, but my experience here wasn't pleasant. The food was unjustifiably expensive for what was on the menu, and the atmosphere was cold and dark (I ate wearing a fleece and jacket). The only positive thing was the friendliness of the staff.
I hope to return and change my mind.
P.S. For those who need it: you can't pay by card.

24/01/2026: Nothing special, the food wasn't particularly good and it wasn't cheap at all. Two tagliatelle with venison, one melted cheese, one sausage, one water, and one beer, €30 each. We won't be returning. It was very cold in the dining room...

Homemade pappardelle with venison ragù / homemade potato gnocchi with melted butter / handmade gnocchi with pumpkin and smoked ricotta / super veal meatloaf with mashed potatoes that will make you feel like a child eating at your grandmother's house! The restaurant's decor is a bit dated, the kind that might not immediately catch your eye for its aesthetics, but you appreciate it as soon as the food arrives.
The food is truly excellent, and the prices are super fair, which is no longer a given. I've been there more than once because I've always had a great time and left satisfied.
The two ladies who run the restaurant are excellent, and you can tell they put care and passion into what they do. They carefully explain the specifics of the dishes you order. Their dishes are all homemade, and the quality is evident in every bite. Authentic flavors, generous portions, and a simple atmosphere that makes you feel at home.

Excellent family-run cuisine. Excellent breakfast. Convenient parking.
Affordable prices. Super friendly owners and staff.
I recommend it for families, groups, and even bikers.

Il titolare Giuliano, simpatico e disponibile, è sempre pronto a soddisfare ogni esigenza dell'ospite .
Assolutamente da provare a chi si trovasse in zona.

01/05/2025: Mai stato in un ristorante simile. Entrare e dare un'occhiata alle sale mozza letteralmente il fiato. Sembra di essere capitati in un sogno, in una casa di bambole, dove ogni più piccolo oggetto, ogni pezzo d'arredamento, ogni più piccola sfumatura non è banale ma collocato ad arte.
Cibo gustoso, ricco, raffinato, servito con garbo e discrezione.
Non solo consigliato, ma consigliatissimo.
09/03/2025: Continuo a venire in questo posto bellissimo ormai dal 2011. Non c’è molto da dire, la struttura è a davvero bella e tutto è arredato in uno stile unico. La gestione familiare e lo spazio per i bambini aggiungono calore anche quando fuori nevica. Nell’attesa del pasto si può curiosare nella sala più grande e guardare i tanti oggetti particolari esposti.
Questo naturalmente non può mettere in secondo piano la cucina. Sarebbe impossibile. Ho provato ormai praticamente tutto il menù ed è impossibile trovare qualcosa che non sia buono.
Lo stinco di maiale è il mio piatto preferito ed anche la palachinka una portata obbligatoria.
Provate a non avere voglia di mangiare guardando la foto. Stagionalmente inseriscono qualche novità ma il menù è sempre una certezza.
Il prezzo è giusto ma considerando il tipo di locale e la cucina potrebbe costare anche di più.
