17/08/2026: Trattoria Ceriati has been, so far, the best dining experience of my stay in Salsomaggiore. It is about an eight-minute drive from the centre, which might seem like its only minor drawback, but in reality it is also part of its charm. This is exactly where you expect to find a proper trattoria: slightly off the beaten path, in a quiet setting that feels completely authentic. The place is extremely clean, well maintained and thoughtfully arranged, with a very pleasant outdoor dining area for the summer. We started with torta fritta with Parma ham and Parmigiano cream, and warm spalla with Parmigiano cream. Both were outstanding. The torta fritta was particularly good — light, delicious and beautifully presented. Then came tagliatelle al ragù and guinea fowl stuffed with sausage meat and prunes. The guinea fowl was interesting, with a slightly adventurous combination of flavours, but still a very good dish. The tagliatelle, however, were exceptional. Possibly the best tagliatelle al ragù I have ever eaten. Perfectly al dente, with firm, substantial homemade pasta and an extraordinary ragù, rustic and rich, with generous pieces of meat still clearly distinguishable rather than reduced to a uniform sauce. Absolutely superb. The bill was another very pleasant surprise: €62 for two starters, one portion of torta fritta, one pasta dish, one main course, two bottles of water, two bottles of wine and an additional glass of wine. Probably the best value for money we have found during this stay. Excellent food, excellent value, great atmosphere and a place with real character. Five stars, with honours.

And what can we say about their products: authentic and high-quality. We'll definitely be back. In short...very good.

17/06/2026: We had dinner here on 24 May and had a fantastic experience. The service was warm and friendly, and we really enjoyed talking with our waiter. He gave us several recommendations and suggested that we try the Torta Fritta, something we had never had before. It was absolutely delicious. He proudly told us that their Torta Fritta had been rated among the best in the region, and after tasting it we could easily understand why. We really appreciated all the advice and personal attention, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was excellent, and above all the food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious and we left very happy. A place we would gladly visit again and one we can highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

23/07/2026: There were two of us and we had already come several times and had always had a good time, but this time it was really disappointing, we paid €30 each and after just 5 dishes we felt full and sick, in almost all the dishes there was practically only rice and very little fish. Then some waiters had a really disrespectful attitude, making fun of us thinking that we didn't understand them 😂😂 everyone had a very professional attitude except the guy at the cashier who was very kind

07/08/2026: We had dinner at this charming restaurant with a lovely little terrace! The owner is friendly and offers great advice (and for French-speaking tourists, he speaks almost perfect French!). The food is high quality and we had a wonderful meal! If we ever find ourselves in Salsomaggiore again, we will gladly return!

21/06/2026: We had lunch today for our wedding anniversary. A place surrounded by nature, with a spacious dining room featuring a wooden ceiling. Large windows all around provide a bath of light. Friendly waiters, a welcoming atmosphere, and delicious, beautifully presented food. Excellent value! If you're in the area, it's worth a visit. They also organize guided tours and excursions... definitely worth a try!
