28/06/2025: The place was recommended to us by some Trieste passers-by on the street, and it was an excellent recommendation. It is historic, famous for boiled meats, even in summer 😅 in addition to boiled meats you can get sandwiches filled with your choice, with a great variety of choices. It doesn't cost much, but the trick is wanting to try different things, in this way you don't even realize that you are accumulating a good amount. The sandwich costs €6, but with just one you won't be satisfied. In the end, the 4 of us spent €98. It is right in the center, next to Piazza Unità d' Italia. It is absolutely worth trying!
28/06/2025: Went several times during my stay in Trieste. I took with my friends the group dishes of mixed boiled meat and sausages. Decent quality of food, great atmosphere, friendly service and available for a joke.

29/06/2025: Classico "buffett" triestino, ossia trattoria semplice da pasto veloce. Quindi non posto raffinato, chi cerca questo non venga qui, ma verace e genuino. Quindi cucina frutto delle contaminazioni di questa città di confine fra le culture.
18/06/2025: We needed sausages, ham and sauerkraut before leaving Trieste and this is the place to satisfy that need. Highly recommend for that type of food. Service was fast and friendly; patio seating very nice on a warm breezy evening.

19/07/2025: A true Trieste gem: authentic flavors and a unique welcome...
I visited Vecio Buffet Marascutti with two friends and we left smiling and full. A place that conveys the genuine soul of Trieste, where you can feel the atmosphere of home and eat like the old days.
The owner is a delightful person: brisk but friendly, and you can immediately sense the passion of someone who truly loves their job.
The goulash gnocchi were simply delicious, soft and well-seasoned, with a flavorful yet balanced sauce. The cod stew with polenta was a delightful surprise: tender, rich in flavor, and perfectly accompanied by warm, comforting polenta.
A simple yet authentic place, with an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The service is quick, courteous, and unfussy, as it should be in a true trattoria.
The quality-price ratio is excellent. Ultimately, this place is definitely worth a visit, especially if you're looking for a genuine, local culinary experience.
I'll definitely be back!
14/07/2025: The cooked ham as a fantastic appetizer, as well as the tagliolini with sardines and cherry tomatoes. Highly recommended.

04/05/2025: A tre passi dal centro con l'atmosfera da osteria come si deve (grazie Sara, un sorriso e una battuta a ogni portata stuzzicano l'appetito) e con il cibo della tradizione. I sardoni (cioè le alici per i non triestini) sono una squisitezza, lo strudel anche e in mezzo primi e secondi di pesce e la jota che - suggerisce Sara - si mangia anche ad agosto. Super apprezzata la disponibilità per un menu un po' diverso per gli amico maratoneti. Estremamente consigliato
25/04/2025: Vom Gefühl her kommt man sich als Nicht-Italiener eher "belächelt" vor; aber das ist nur eine persönliche Einschätzung.
Das Essen ist eher Standard - nichts Außergewöhnliches, aber i.O.
Das Ambiente ist eher, wie in einem Brauhaus bzw. in einerm Eß-Saal: Recht laut und alles wild durcheinander, obwohl das ja auch Charme haben kann. Personal ehre einen "barschen" Ton - aber das ist ein "warmer Kern" :-)
Preis-Leistung gut, allerdings ist der Hauswein eher nicht trinkbar.
Also: Ordentliches Essen zu angemessenem Preis, aber nicht der richtige "ich gehe Essen"-Flair.

11/06/2025: A vedersi sembra una modesta trattoria poi vai a cena e il cibo è veramente ottimo. Sicuramente ci torneremo ogni volta che passeremo da Trieste. SUPER TOP
03/06/2025: Ci siamo fermati a cena una sera in 8 per una cena completa. Malgrado ci fossero molti tavolini liberi ci hanno permesso di sederci solo unendo due minuscoli tavolini… capite che stavamo strettini!!! Il resto tutto buono anche in rapporto al prezzo. Peccato per i modi veramente pessimi del personale
