13/05/2026: We calmly asked for clarification about the €12 charge on the bill. We were told it was for bread, butter, and water. However, we had already paid €4 for water on the same bill, and we did not order or consume any bread or butter.
If this was actually a service charge (coperto), we would have fully accepted it, as we understand this is a normal practice in Italy. We simply wanted a clear explanation.
Instead of providing a normal clarification, the staff created a humiliating scene: an aggressive woman from the staff came to our table, waved the menu in our faces, and spoke to us in a very rude and hostile manner.
She then asked where we were from. When we asked what that had to do with the bill, she replied that it did matter. This was done loudly and demonstratively in front of the entire restaurant, while other guests stared at us.
The whole situation felt extremely uncomfortable and came across as discriminatory. We were there with our child and, instead of enjoying our evening, we were left stressed and humiliated.
To make matters worse, when we asked where we could order an Uber, we were told that “there is no Uber in Italy” and that they could call “their own taxi” for us instead, which felt misleading and uncomfortable as well.
Completely unacceptable behavior from the staff. We would not recommend this place to anyone.

14/06/2026: Excellent restaurant in the heart of Taormina, the manager and all the staff were very kind throughout the evening.
12/06/2026: The food was good, but the service was a disaster. There were clearly some communication issues within the staff. They forgot to take our drink orders and bring us plates for bread and we had to ask for them. We also had to ask for balsamico twice. We ordered the antipasti and main courses from one server and another one came to give us some details. However, the antipasti never came. In addition, another main course dish was extremely over-priced. It was the catch of the day, but the pricing is per the whole fish (not fillet) but this was never explained nor were we asked how large fish we would like to have. We ended up paying 45 euros for maybe 150 grams of white fish. We also needed to ask for the check twice. The overall experience was quite chaotic.

16/05/2025: Este fue un hallazgo en Taormina. Ligeramente lejos de las principales cafeterías y tiendas. Teníamos mariscos increíbles, almejas, mejillones y lubina fresca, bañados con delicioso vino local.
07/05/2025: Gran ambiente escondido de la calle principal y la comida y el personal eran encantadores. Solo ten cuidado con las bebidas gratuitas que ponen en la mesa y luego agregar a su cuenta al final.

18/04/2025: La comida era excelente. Vi a los camareros 3 veces reutilizar el pan no comido y los palitos de pan de las cestas de las mesas. De hecho, vi a un camarero sacar dos trozos de pan de la cesta que parecía medio comido y luego rellenar la cesta con un par de panes nuevos para otra mesa.

13/05/2025: Siamo tornati dopo qualche anno in questo ristorantino nel centro storico di Taormina (fra il corso principale e il duomo) e tutto ha confermato l’ottima impressione avuta in precedenza. Abbiamo mangiato dei ravioli con ricotta e crema di pistacchi e degli gnocchi con pesto e gamberoni. Poi abbiamo diviso del calamaro gratinato con panatura e verdure.
Tutto ottimo. Il locale è dotato di un delizioso giardinetto e di un balconcino più riparato con due tavoli. Prezzo assolutamente nella norma. La gestione è a carattere familiare con personale gentile e cordiale. Torneremo senz’altro.
07/04/2025: Lugar tranquilo justo detrás del duomo bajando unos escalones. Recomendado por el hotel. Acogedor lugar familiar, comida siciliana. Albóndigas y carne muy buena. Ravioli estaba bien. Los bandos eran generosos.
