15/07/2025: As soon as you enter, you'll notice a strong (unpleasant) fishy odor.
A young man is intolerant to milk proteins and asks to confirm if there were traces of lactose in one of the first courses, and instead of responding politely, the waitress says, "What do you think? What do you think?"
In a truly unpleasant tone.
The chef specifies on the menu that it's advisable to order at least two dishes per person, and we were repeatedly told that if we didn't want to wait too long, it would be better for multiple people to order the same dish. Since when in the world do restaurants have to tell you how much to eat?
And I'm fine with being advised to order a dish to save on waiting, but it shouldn't be insisted upon, otherwise it becomes an obligation rather than a recommendation.
We were then brought a bottle of red wine, which was tasted by a woman who owns a winery in Alba: the wine tasted corked.
The waitress, having demonstrated zero wine experience from the moment she opened the bottle, turns up her nose and says she'll take it to the kitchen... the chef, without even coming to the table, shouts from the kitchen that the wine is delicious but they'll change it if we want.
We keep the corked wine, and that's fine (plus, there were clearly pieces of cork in the glass, which the waitress also saw, but whatever).
At the end of the dinner, we're told that due to the corked wine, they'll offer us a bottle, so we thank them and ask them to bring us the same bottle of white wine we'd had before.
We're served another white wine they wanted, but at this point, we drink what they bring because we don't feel like making a fuss anymore.
When it comes time to pay, the bill is split between three of us and everyone has paid by card. We chat a bit longer and then ask if we'd paid for everything and everything was fine. We're told yes and are wished "have a good evening," said in the usual tone.
We move to a restaurant in Santa Margherita a little further away, and after about half an hour, we receive a call from an unknown number: the waitress tells us that €129 is missing and that she made a mistake in her calculations, asking us to come back to pay.
First, I ask myself:
1. How can you get such a huge amount wrong?
2. How can you expect me to return to the restaurant at your times, and how can you benefit from a SERIOUS mistake of yours?
3. If I wasn't given a receipt when I paid, how do I know you're not making it up?
Shocked, we say that we would have calmly gone to pay after we'd finished at the restaurant, but instead they keep calling us insistently, so we answer and tell them to come get it from where we are.
But then I wonder: if we had left to go somewhere, how would they have behaved?
The waitress told us that the chef scolded her a lot for the incorrect bill.
But first of all, we weren't given a receipt, and secondly, we asked if everything was okay and were told it was, so I don't see why I should bother paying when the mistake was theirs and if they wanted to fix it, they should have come and collected the money.
The attitude of the waitresses, the chef, and the overall "I eat as much as you want" concept was truly shameful, given the tone and manner of addressing the customer.
A little more humility and good manners are needed.
I hope I don't receive a response with the same tone we were treated with throughout the entire dinner, otherwise you would only be confirming what I've said so far.
You'd better take the blow and keep quiet; it would make a better impression.
RESPONSE TO THE NICE OWNER:
Dear sir, something doesn't add up in what you're saying because you did the billing and you told us everything was paid, and I repeat, no one ever saw the receipt. We had all paid, and we have the POS payments to prove it.
You're just rude liars.
But don't worry, I'll report it to the tax office. Have a good life.
13/07/2025: Ok wow, first off just go here don’t think just go. 2nd this place is so good it’s forcing me to write a proper review. Third, why are you not there now.
We were first to arrive at 7:30 to an empty restaurant truly my first thought was uh oh it’s Saturday night and they are “slammed” but yet we are alone at 7:30. May I now say thank god we started alone. The chef and his family wife for sure and I think daughter with red dyed hair give their upmost attention, it might come across as abrasive but it is not. It is true care and attention to you bordering on Michelin / Asian excellence fitting as the wife is Thai. 2nd the wine list is splendid it’s big but not annoying so, and separated by regions, one can keep it affordable as I did 35€ a bottle for a delightful Chardonnay or you can open your wallet real wide and drop 650€ I like the versatility.
Now with a place like this they are all but begging you (but not really) to get the tasting menu. We did, and oh my god, it was divine. It was as if it great seafood, some Italian and Thai Influences plus just a talented chef had a baby. And damn that baby is beautiful!
I won’t go into crazy detail on food just trust me I eat a lot and this is in top 15 of my travels. The squid especially with Thai roots was damn good. I honestly might move to this town and if I do want to be friends with the chef and his wife. They are awesome!
So the meal moves along at a proper pace never waiting more than 2-4 mins for next course and also the restaurant itself started to “fill” up tables of 2-4 people trickling in every 30 mins, which is key because this way each table gets the chef’s and his wife’s fullest attention. They know exactly what they are doing. I commented to his wife (the front of the house) that I saw on the menu that they had a steak with peppercorn sauce. A man who can cook seafood like this can surely cook a steak to die for. I asked to just sample the peppercorn sauce she obliged. Instead of the sauce I got two pieces of tuna bathed in the sauce to try it properly, it was amazing!! Two things I will become a regular here and 2nd just go, this place is a 1 or 2 star just in quality, kindness, taste, and love alone.
10 stars! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

13/07/2025: Fresh produce sales and a trattoria. Quality products at reasonable prices in the center of Santa Margherita Ligure (a rarity). Clean atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, suitable for families with children. In recent years, the establishment has also been converted into a restaurant. Good value. Reservations recommended during high season and on weekends.
13/07/2025: Very welcoming! Good food! They let us sit at almost 2 pm, it was a pouring rain outside and the light was off in our apartment, thus is was very much appreciated!
Good quality home-style food, nice service!

30/06/2025: Trattoria with "old style" proposals, the dishes are good and the quality/price ratio is advantageous. It's a pity about the "modern" restyling, a more dated environment and in keeping with the history of the place would be more welcoming, warm and characteristic. The only flaw that affects the service: the hot drinks because (the very kind girl who served us told us) the fridge is not powerful enough.
17/06/2025: Ristorante trattoria situata a San Lorenzo. Cibo nella media, nulla di entusiasmante. Pansotti e trofie deludenti, buona la carne. Peccato per il servizio, lento e confusionario. Piatti serviti con lunghi tempi d’attesa e in momenti diversi lasciando diversi commensali senza mangiare. Cameriere gentili.
Consigliato per i prezzi bassi per una cena senza pretese

13/07/2025: First time at this restaurant with my boyfriend. The view was breathtaking, the service impeccable, courteous, and attentive.
The bread, focaccia, and crackers were delicious!
Delicious food, especially the scampi alla battj and the truly delicious squid petals.
Before dessert, we were served a truly refreshing apple and celery sorbet (very original).
My only complaint was that the Sacher torte didn't have much apricot filling; I found it a little dry.
But overall, it's one of the best places, or perhaps the best in the area!!!
We'll be back soon.

19/05/2025: Pranzo domenicale dell'ultimo secondo, il ristorante non accetta prenotazioni quindi conviene presentarsi presto.
Classica osteria semplice ma in ordine e pulita, personale cortese e disponibile.
Ordiniamo 2 spaghetti alle vongole che aspettiamo un pochino troppo ma che poi si rivelano davvero buoni, le acciughe fritte invece arrivano in un lampo e sono altrettanto buone e croccanti.
Buon pranzo ad un prezzo corretto, qualità medio alta. Posto piacevole

Qualità medio-alta, più alta che media.

Dunque, ci si torna, perchè nessuna sorpresa.
Il servizio è rapido e cortese
I prezzi, ragionevoli.
Noln accettano prenotazioni: recarsi per tempo, il locale è ridotto.

30/06/2025: Family owned, delicious food. They treat the customers with care. Seafood spaghetti is a must try. Cruise excursions no longer take you here, however you can have the adventure of taking the train yourself and visit this lovely town.
