09/04/2024: Historic hotel in Lamezia (Nicastro). The hotel is modern, well furnished and in an excellent location. the cleanliness of the rooms is discreet and perhaps the stars are a little overrated. The highlight is breakfast in the morning at the hotel's pastry shop with Casa Mastroianni's desserts a real delight for the palate. Possibility to park your car in the narrow indoor courtyard.

22/03/2024: two of the 4 stars were found in the chips... small and uncomfortable room and a towel that I wouldn't even use as a mop for the floors... barely adequate breakfast... unprofessional staff...

03/11/2023: Non ci siamo proprio. Cinque anni fa misi piede in questo locale per la prima volta e giurai a me stesso che non sarei mai più tornato in vita mia. Una delle esperienze gastronomiche peggiori della mia vita. Oggi, a distanza di cinque anni ci sono tornato dopo insistenza di alcuni amici i quali sostenevano che le cose fossero cambiate in meglio. Purtroppo devo contraddirli: le cose sono addirittura peggiorate laddove prima il locale aveva una propria identità oggi non c’è personalità e l’arredo è un accozzaglia di di robe che non comunica nulla. Poche birre alla spina e tutte stra-commerciali (ci sono solo un paio di birre “artigianali” in bottiglia ma sono mediocri). La carta dei vini è davvero molto povera e propone le solite etichette calabresi che ormai hanno fatto della chimica il loro punto forte. Sul cibo sarebbe meglio non esprimersi: Senza qualità, senza amore, senza passione. Una sequela di junk food grassi, burrosi, squilibrati. Alette di pollo bruciate e panino insignificante con un’accozzaglia di sapori al suo interno da asfaltare il palato. Le insalatone, seriamente? Tonno, mais, iceberg e olive di cartapesta? Per non parlare del tripudio di Nutella e crema di pistacchio buttato là in ogni dove. Sono sbalordito dal fatto che nel 2023 ci siano ancora locali che propongono gli stessi identici menu degli anni 90 e soprattutto che ci sia gente che ci vada ancora.

05/09/2023: Since my review was not published: rephrased here. Simple rooms, poor or no breakfast, we used the ground floor for parties every night. That means: loud enough until 2 a.m. An absolute disaster with children. But now others have noticed it too (see other reviews)

20/08/2023: We found this property on Booking. We immediately suspected that the presence on the well-known portal was not entirely linear considering that, at the time of payment, our booking was blocked. However, the location acted as a decoy since the property is located very close to a well-known and very beautiful reception room and therefore we contacted the owner and paid by bank transfer (€60.00, same amount advertised on Booking). Presentation: dirt road with several potholes (be careful with the car!) to reach the structure, small lake that looks like a swamp pond, dirty and smelly swimming pool (in short, not usable), sparse restaurant room and certainly not used by centuries, only a counter remains of the bar. But we were only interested in the room for the night (we had also thought about staying a few more days to visit Calabria... but imagine: we escaped!!!!). Electricity cables dangling in the corridors and the room suitable for the last of the seven dwarfs: as wide as a bed so much so that, I believe, even the bed itself has been shortened and made unsuitable for people over 1.70m like us. Dirty window glass, dust on bedside tables and hangers in the wardrobe without doors, sheets with various tears... but let's get to the best part: the bathroom. Only thing that works: hot water. Toilet with a heart-stopping flush, shower without even a curtain and with a dirty shower surface, non-existent bidet and, above all, no extractor fan (despite being a blind bathroom). We returned at 3:30 in the morning after a reception, to welcome us some beautiful, poorly cared for dogs (therefore, I hope at least strays... but there are kennels in the structure) who barked and growled at us to protect their territory. Luckily we managed to get out of the car and run to the room. Exhausted, we slept until 8 in the hope that at least breakfast could regenerate us and instead: a few slices of toast to put nothing on, packaged croissants filled with some sort of cream, open fruit juice pack, water... luckily there was coffee (with spray machine!). In short, I think it was the most absurd experience of all our numerous trips (even the worst hostel is better!) and it is obviously NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!

18/11/2023: Very high prices, much higher than in the bars inside the airport. A cheap brioche, a coffee and a cappuccino, around 7 euros... I'll never go there again

27/10/2023: Siamo andati a far colazione io e la mia ragazza prima di prendere l'aereo. Ha palesemente alzato i prezzi perché ha capito che io non ero del posto. 2 caffè e due cornetti ben 14.30€ Persone del genere uccidono il turismo. Non ci andate. Attività del genere vanno boicottate.
