We’ve made it a tradition to visit every year when we’re back in Verona, and it never disappoints. The quality of the food is exceptional. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into sourcing the ingredients, especially the meat, which comes from carefully selected producers across Europe and specific regions of Italy. You can genuinely taste the difference in every dish. The attention to quality extends beyond the meat. Every ingredient feels fresh, thoughtfully chosen, and prepared with care, resulting in dishes that are simple yet incredibly flavorful. The service is just as impressive. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always happy to offer recommendations or explain the different cuts and dishes. Their passion and knowledge make the experience even better. The Butcher has become a must-visit whenever we’re in Verona, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who appreciates outstanding food, high-quality ingredients, and genuinely friendly service.

29/07/2026: Overall, an embarrassing experience. My partner and I, who have been in the restaurant business for 16 and 10 years, respectively, went here for dinner on a Monday night, a fairly quiet evening. We were given the menu, which was quite rambling, with no explanation from the waiter who "looked after" us throughout the evening. Unless you're a butcher, you don't know what you're ordering. We ordered a steak, which was shown to us and the weight was given on trust. We waited about 45 minutes for a rare steak and a side dish on a Monday night. During dinner, a Red Hot Chili Peppers record was played at full volume, followed by constant shouting and comments from the waiters, and noise/complaints from the kitchen. It was truly unrelaxing and completely unsuitable for the type of establishment, which has an elegant feel, at least on the surface. The steak arrived with all the callus—connective tissue, if you will—as you can see from the photo. Meat cost €110/kg, with at least €40 of waste between bone and sinew. Our disappointment was completely ignored by the waiter, who neither apologized nor showed any empathy. "A little bold" and "the best part" was how the waiter described the sinew to us. I would have liked to see him swallow a piece in front of us. The icing on the cake was that when we asked to take away the leftover meat, given the large portion, we were given a nice "doggy bag" in name and in fact. I'm attaching a photo because I've never before had to take away food in a vacuum-sealed bag with the stuff thrown inside from a restaurant, much less one of the caliber they boast about. Extremely high bill for mediocre food and nonexistent service. Never again. I'd like to add a small addition following the restaurant's kind response, just to point out that, in addition to not having deigned to consider us at all during service and behaving exactly as I wrote, you also responded to us in a completely false manner. We weren't asked if we wanted an appetizer, we weren't given a timeframe, we weren't even listened to when we complained. In fact, we were almost taken for a ride and ignored again at the register by the same waiter who served us, because he was too busy chatting loudly about internal matters in front of us, as was the case throughout the evening. So, reevaluate your staff, whom you defend tooth and nail. I'm sincerely embarrassed by the response I received, as well as by your experience. I expected more regret than an apology, a false one at that. Ridiculous.

15/08/2026: What can I say? Le Colombare isn't just a restaurant in a unique location, with a unique atmosphere, nor would it be enough to say that the meat and Argentinian appetizers are wonderful; Le Colombare is home, because the kindness and helpfulness of its staff aren't something you can learn; they're innate and spontaneous, starting with the management itself. When the staff feels at home, inevitably the guests feel at home too, because spontaneity always pays off. For me, it's the absolute best. This is what I've written before, and today more than ever, I stand by it!

05/08/2026: Terribly rude. Terribly hot. I asked if the air conditioning could be turned up. The answer was yes. Could you turn the ventilation up a little? No! Huge confusion in the orders, but it's the customer's fault 🙄

11/06/2026: Exquisite place. We were on our way home and found this place. We had a delicious steak and burger. Highly recommended.

08/08/2026: Good but not great. I would come here again for sure. Meat was excellent. Beer was cold. Service was a bit off. Could have been a bit of a language barrier issue so I was a little confused. I was a solo diner and the only one in the restaurant so became a little puzzled why everything took the time is did. Empanadas came out lighting fast, like a little too fast to be comfortable. Then my 200 grm steak seemed to take forever. Missed chance to sell me many more beers as noone checked on me after my second. Bread arrived, that I didn't order. So ok. Then what sounds like a doorbell from the kitchen kept ringing, It was right over my head as I was right next to the kitchen and I had been thoughtfully placed right under the air conditioning. And again this doorbell sounds. Then it clicked, this was my steak. Then again the doorbell sound. Again, meat was great and at a fantastic price. Service. Just a little off.

28/07/2026: best meat in italy, amazing atmosphere and amazing people. I fully recommend this place if you want to eat authentic latin food and the people are amazing.

09/08/2026: We finished our city walk and stopped at the restaurant. Food was delicious especially the meat dishes both the lamb chop and steak were cooked to perfection. The chopped mushroom added a lot of flavor to the steak. The staff was friendly and offered us Campari on the house as well. When you sit outside you could see the side of the Roman theater as well

02/08/2026: Wonderful food, service and ambience. Looked after me very well as a solo diner. And wonderful location very close to the Arena on a small side street with views of the Arena

07/03/2026: This restaurant is amazing and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The bigoli with guanciale are unique, the pappardelle with ragù are delicious, and the suckling pig is unforgettable. All at a very reasonable price.

15/02/2026: We stayed at this farmhouse yesterday, February 14th. We had a wonderful time. The place was beautiful and we ate wonderfully. The Custoza broccoli risotto with Monte Veronese fondue was excellent! And then the ribs were superb. The service was excellent. We'll definitely be back.
