16/12/2025: My husband and I are so passionate about Il Merlo that we chose it as the venue for our wedding reception. They were as helpful as they always have been over the years we've been dining there. Chef Elisa, Silvia in the dining room, and the entire staff are highly professional but also deeply sensitive. This is evident in the way they cook, serve, and address guests, and especially in the patience and helpfulness with which they supported us in planning our wedding. We couldn't have chosen a better location, a place that feels like family to us.

18/12/2025: Everything was excellent, a must-visit when we go to Montepulciano. Greetings to my namesake Marcello I came back last week. Always better, professional and friendly. Well, I won't even mention the food because it's perfect. Try the grilled lamb with a trio of vegetable purees. Fantastic, as are the pici with all the sauces. As Aiazzone used to say, "seeing is believing." Greetings to Mihail and Marcello and all the staff.

14/12/2025: I went there 24 years ago, but it suddenly came to mind, so I'm just leaving a review now. It took quite a while to remember and find the location, but I still wanted to leave a review. Everything about the wine steak pasta was impeccable. It's one of the most memorable restaurants I visited during my trip to Italy, including Rome, Florence, and Venice. Thanks to the delicious food, my wife and I were completely drunk after two bottles of wine.

08/12/2025: A truly pleasant experience, the place is very welcoming and truly charming; the only flaw is the acoustics, which aren't exactly optimal. The staff is extremely friendly. The dishes are excellent, especially the first courses (the tagliatelle verdi are definitely worth mentioning, truly exquisite and delicate), but the second courses are also truly excellent. I highly recommend it, especially for its location, an exceptional village in the Val d'Orcia that's definitely worth a visit: Monticchiello.

06/12/2025: The service is excellent, as Daniele is a truly friendly, qualified, and very helpful person. The food is of an excellent standard, with dishes prepared with attention to the smallest details, and there is a wide selection of wines.

14/12/2025: Simple but excellent food. I personally had crostini, pickled vegetables, and bean soup, all excellent. The place is very well kept and the service is fast. Obviously, you have to like the "osteria" style.

17/12/2025: Our group consisted of 3 couples that stayed at the hotel and enjoyed a wine pairing dinner at the winery and the following day a cooking class and dinner at the winery. We had a very good time our entire stay. Honestly, the wine pairing dinner and cooking class were pretty similar. After we made homemade pasta, we sat at the same outside dinner table that we had the prior evening for the wine tasting. However, the host was kind enough to change some of the wines around. I love wine and food and would have no problem duplicating again. I believe some may find it somewhat repetitive though. Our dedicated table server was Mikela. My goodness, she was outstanding and one of our favorites during the trip. Please note that I am tardy in posting because we were at the winery in October. The town of San Gimignano is unbelievable. Don't miss it.

14/12/2025: My husband and I came to Tenuta Torciano as part of our honeymoon. We did the dinner and wine tasting experience, and it was amazing! The wines are fabulous, the food is delicious, and their team is great—we had a lot of emails back-and-forth because of changing traveling plans but the team was very accommodating and friendly. My only advice—We ended up taking a shuttle to the winery from Florence, because we had so many changes to our travel plans and I would *only* recommend using this option if you have several people you can split the cost between. It was convenient and comfortable, and we’re so glad we still made it to our reservation, but it was very expensive. On the whole, we had a fabulous time and are so glad we made this experience part of our honeymoon!

12/12/2025: Nice place, we came to this restaurant with an organized group. The food was decent, but they didn't stick to the agreed-upon menu. The dishes were really small in quantity. My colleague and I had maybe 50 potato gnocchi in two plates, two pieces of pork loin that looked like wafers, dry and scant potatoes, and then we had the mascarpone cheese opened from the jar and two pistachios placed on top. An experience to be avoided absolutely.

14/12/2025: We stumbled upon this unfamiliar restaurant by chance. We had a great time, welcomed and served by attentive and courteous staff. The dishes are excellent, the wait time is short, and the products are top-quality. Definitely recommended.

06/12/2025: I gave it two stars only because the turkey with pistachios and orange was good. Terrible service: the waiter visibly snorted and said, "Never try anything new!" when I asked if I could simply have salt without peppercorns (I have serious stomach problems and can't eat spicy food, let alone pepper!). I ordered the salad with orange, and it was already quite wilted, and there was an ingredient (gorgonzola) not listed on the menu, which instead only listed goat cheese. I would have liked to have been informed that the goat cheese had been replaced with gorgonzola; I would have ordered something else. Not recommended.
