23/03/2025: Excellent dinner with friends, the bruschetta very good and fragrant, pappardelle with white Chianina ragù to lick your lips, the pici with Tuscan ragù ten and praise, the tagliata with lard very special and delicate!!!!! Friendly, professional and friendly waiters. Excellent bill too!!!!
22/03/2025: Absolutely perfect. The servers, Beatrice and Marcello, are great and know how to make good jokes to create a great atmosphere. The t-bone steak is highly recommended.

07/01/2025: Nestled in the medieval village of Monticchiello, near Pienza and the Sienese Val d'Orcia, the Daria restaurant immediately puts the guest at ease. Pleasant temperature, light background music and a smile as soon as you enter the room. The selection is quite challenging because each dish gives the impression of being very tasty and it is exactly like that! From the appetizer to the dessert everything is excellent and well looked after and the desire to return is the predominant feeling. Wide choice of wines and surprise, to accompany the dessert, a liqueur wine with sour cherries which, despite being an alcoholic syrup, is not cloying but rather invites you to drink more.

24/03/2025: We first discovered La Solita Zuppa in June 2019, during a stay at the nearby Poggio Piglia. Our initial visit was for lunch — and it was so wonderful that we ended up returning for dinner every evening of that stay except for one. Andrea, the owner, was warm and knowledgeable, entertaining us with stories about the evolution of Tuscan cuisine and offering thoughtful recommendations from the menu and anecdotes about the ingredients. The restaurant itself is charmingly decorated, with a beautiful vaulted brick ceiling and little green gingham details. Andrea's wife is the chef, and every dish — from the simple yet perfectly executed tomato and garlic pici, to the elegant gnudi with sage and the richly flavoured ginger ravioli — was cooked to absolute perfection. We discovered the influence of Italy's ancient connection with the Silk Road still alive today in many of the dishes. All through the pandemic and unable to travel, we promised ourselves we’d return one day. And in August 2024, we finally repeated the same trip, again staying at Poggio Piglia and once again dining at La Solita Zuppa each night. While there had been some small changes since covid, including the addition of a cute little terrace, we were delighted to find Andrea and his wife still running the restaurant, and many of the dishes we had dreamt about (and even tried to recreate at home) still on the menu. The entire experience was just as amazing as we had remembered, if not even better. The restaurant was definitely busier than it had been during our last trip, which was wonderful to see, and our only single disappointment was that Andrea was far too busy with all of our fellow diners to spend very much time at our table. On our last evening he recommended us the wine 'Vigna Flavia' from a small vineyard in Chiusi, which was so wonderful that we now regularly order cases of it to enjoy at home in Switzerland. Our favourites on the menu (I think we managed to try everything!) were the gnudi with sage (sometimes served with truffle), the ginger ravioli with poppy seeds, the garlic pici, the maiale with rosemary and honey, and the sformato which we also had once served with black truffle. We are real foodies and have eaten in all kinds of restaurants all over the world, from three star Michelin establishments to street food stands, always searching for places that blow us away. There is something very special about La Solita Zuppa and the honesty of the place, the inventiveness of the menu and yet its embrace of tradition. Italian food at its BEST. We hope to return again!

Thanks to the entire staff, who are super nice and attentive, but especially to Luigi, who led our tasting and made sure we truly enjoyed every minute we spent there. 07/01/2025: Space. We ended up here by chance: the sweetness and helpfulness of the owners made us fall in love. Welcoming environment, with attention to the smallest details. The dishes are absolutely delicious, fantastic pici with wild boar with an extra touch (to be discovered). For the second course we chose some vegetables: absolutely fabulous, from their garden; the chef cooks them in a surprising way. Selection of castle wines. In short, we would never go away again. Highly recommended from all points of view.

13/03/2025: We came across this wonderful locanda during a trip to the Crete Senesi. The offer is small but nice! Wonderful antipasti, pasta and dolce. Very good house wine and a strong espresso at the end. You can take lovely walks in this small town and enjoy the Crete landscape. Friendly service, very good price-performance ratio.

04/03/2025: Fantastico ristorante, con cucina tipica, propone anche dei piatti con sapiente rivisitazione di alcune tradizioni, personale eccellente, molto attento alla clientela, carta dei vini di elevata qualità, rum servito egregiamente, location suggestiva, tutto molto curato, prezzi competitivi, data anche la qualità dei menù. Sono più di 20anni che vengo in questo posto e in tutti questi anni ho visto tutto il loro impegno nell'offrire sempre il meglio ai loro clienti e quando mi fermo a cena/pranzo da loro, ormai mi sento a casa e queste sono cose che non hanno prezzo, specie per me che non sono di Siena...ma di Latina e per me la Taverna San Giuseppe è tappa fissa ❤️.
23/02/2025: Location d’atmosfera, esattamente il tipo di posto in cui ci si aspetta di mangiare quando si viene a Siena: calda e accogliente. Un plauso al soufflé pecorino e pere e ai pici cinghiale e porcini, eccezionali. Buoni anche il tagliere salumi e formaggi e la tagliata al tartufo. Ottimo anche il vino. Abbiamo molto apprezzato che si potesse ordinare la mezza bottiglia, ideale per chi non vuole rinunciare ad un buon vino di accompagnamento senza esagerare! Ci ritorneremo!

22/03/2025: Went on the recommendation of the facility where we are staying. At first glance we feared it would be a bit touristy, but we absolutely changed our minds about everything! Quick, kind and attentive service. Abundant, tasty and well-prepared dishes. I didn't like the proximity to the next table even if, to be honest, they found us a table without a reservation so it was probably a more "unlucky" table. All the waiters were excellent. Value for money in the current average.

19/03/2025: Disgusting place, they take your plate from in front of you, and they don't even ask if they can take it, there are insects and the service sucks, I honestly don't like it at all. Furthermore, I found a small worm in the dish of rice with beans and mushrooms
