All'Orto De' Pecci In Siena

I had lunch here and it is such a wonderful place. It is about a 10 min walk from II campo but worth it. It is very serene and tranquil away from the busyness of Siena. The service was great and the food really good and large portions. I had the Pico bolognaise, an aperol spritz and bottle of water for 20 euro. Overall i am glad I visited for lunch.

The staff was exceptionally kind. Beautiful place, excellent food.

We came to have lunch with a child but despite having it on the meny they didn’t serve pizza, focaccia or sandwiches.

We were really excited to dine here because the setting is unlike anywhere else in Siena. The drive down into the valley is beautiful, the farm is charming, the large head sculpture is interesting, and eating in a basin below the medieval city is a unique experience. If you’re looking for atmosphere, this place certainly has it. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting. On the evening we visited, the regular menu wasn’t available, though we weren’t sure why (the Palio festivities?) and we were only offered a fixed-price menu (€40 per adult and €20 per child). We understood that, but we expected the food to justify the price. Nearly everything seemed either fried or overcooked. Even the vegetables served to start the meal were completely fried, taking healthy Tuscan vegetables to a new low. The salad was simply iceberg lettuce with very little to it, and overall the meal felt heavy rather than fresh. We also found ourselves repeatedly asking for basic things like plates and extra napkins that should have been provided without prompting. The house red wine wasn’t a favorite either. It tasted more acidic and alcoholic than balanced, and neither of us enjoyed it. If you’re seated outside, be aware that while the views are lovely, you’re also next to an active farm. Depending on the wind, you’ll notice the smell of livestock, bug spray, or whatever the crowds have brought with them after walking down from the city up the hill. We may have simply visited on an unusual evening, and perhaps the regular menu offers a better experience. But for us, the fixed-price meal was overpriced for the quality we received. We were hoping this would be a memorable final dinner of our trip through Tuscany, but unfortunately it ended up being our biggest disappointment. The setting is beautiful—the food just didn’t match it.

Best cacio e Pepe that I had in a long while

I had a very good meal with a great view in a quiet location. I enjoyed it very much.

Today, after a few years, I returned to this restaurant in Siena for lunch. The location is beautiful: a green corner just steps from the historic center. The restaurant is located just below Piazza del Campo, just a few minutes' walk away, and it's nice because it feels like being in the countryside without having to leave the center of Siena. The restaurant is surrounded by vegetable gardens and meadows, and you can spot some animals. Regarding lunch, I can say that the food was good, but unfortunately, dairy products were present in almost every dish. I ordered a Tuscan appetizer, which included cheese, but I asked for it not to be added to my dish. This appetizer, however, contained cured meats. There was practically nothing vegan about the menu, except for the potato/vegetable side dishes. The service was excellent.

I went for dinner on Friday, June 5th, with my son. The new menu is extensive, and the dishes are carefully prepared and presented. The service was efficient. The surrounding area is lush with greenery and several enclosures with sheep, ducks, and peacocks.

A place nestled in the greenery that is worth a visit, excellent quality food, but above all "stratospheric Pici" very kind and very helpful staff, congratulations.
