Il Sacco Fiorentino

Volterra
03/05/2026: We dined at this restaurant and particularly appreciated Baty's service and explanations in French, but one of the two dishes was disappointing.
03/05/2026: Nothing special about the place. Situated in a nice, narrow street in Volterra. We tried pasta, wine and aperol. Drinks were good but food was nothing special. Overall - too expensive for the quality. We were little disappointed with the experience, expected more from 4.5 restaurant.

Ristorante Enoteca Del Duca

Volterra
05/04/2026: We ordered the tasting menu, and the food was absolutely not worth the price. All the dishes were flavorless, and the portions were tiny. The flavors overall didn't seem to pair very well. We left the restaurant still hungry and not satisfied with our meal. It's incredible that it's been on the Michelin list for so many years in a row. The city is pretty, and there are definitely better options.
13/12/2025: Excellent food and competent staff, certainly worthy of the characteristics of the place.

Caffè Dei Fornelli

Volterra
05/04/2026: The food is excellent, as is the service and hospitality. A cozy, family atmosphere where guests feel at home. Affordable prices. Sergio and Carla Trafeli Volterra
29/03/2026: Lunch for two, both the Volterra-style tripe and the stewed wild boar were excellent, accompanied by simple Pannonia variations. To finish, the zuppa inglese was excellent and the house amaro was very aromatic. The price was reasonable. The owners were very attentive to their guests' needs.

L'Antica Taverna

Volterra
04/04/2026: It was a truly fantastic meal. The whole family was delighted with the quality of the food. The waiters were also very friendly and welcoming, explaining all the restaurant's specialties. The menu includes typical dishes not found elsewhere. The sweet and spicy wild boar was superb!! We highly recommend it!!!
02/04/2026: I was out with my girlfriend, riding my motorcycle, and we chose this place to eat because it was close to where we'd parked our bike. The place is very welcoming, with an old-fashioned style that fits in well with the town. The waiter was very kind in explaining the tavern's typical and unique dishes and wines, which are what we ordered, and we didn't regret it. Terrine as an appetizer, along with fried artichokes, followed by Etruscan-style pici and sweet and sour wild boar—unusual dishes that absolutely must be tried. If you're passing through Volterra, I recommend stopping by. Since it's a unique menu, it's a little more expensive than usual, but that's to be expected, and it's worth it.

Pizzeria Il Rifugio di Pucciotti Lidia

Volterra
03/05/2026: I won't say much about the food because it was truly shameful. The pizza had 200 kilos of "mozzarella" because it looked like low-quality processed cheese, which made it a real mess. As soon as we sat down, we asked for an ashtray so we could smoke, but it wasn't brought to us even after the second and third call. Once the pizza arrived, I decided to ask for chili pepper, but given my experience with the ashtray, I couldn't expect anything else. I asked twice, but it was quicker to finish the pizza, pay, and go buy it at the little shop next door that sells chili peppers. That said, I guess you understand that I don't recommend it.
06/04/2026: We spontaneously decided to eat here because we were out and about in the city and were hungry. We have absolutely no complaints about the food or the price. It was perfectly fine and very tasty. We had the set menu with a cold appetizer, pasta ragù, lasagna, and pici carbonara, plus three soft drinks, a bottle of sparkling water (included with the set menu), and two espressos to finish. The whole thing cost about 65 euros plus tip. The food was delicious, and the portions were absolutely generous. At first, we had a slight language barrier because we don't speak Italian, and the waiters only spoke a little English. However, I don't see this as a disadvantage; after all, I'm a guest in Italy. The only point of criticism was the way the soft drinks were served. They were simply brought in cans and not poured. We would definitely come again.
