15/09/2025: Excellent experience. A gift my wife and I gave ourselves. I'm sorry I didn't find Mr. Fabrizio. I hope the guys will convey our greetings and heartfelt thanks to this wonderful family I've supported for years. I had the Kobe beef, and it was just as I always imagined it: buttery and extremely flavorful, although next time I'll have a nice Apple Meat. The atmosphere is charming and relaxing; I love the sound of the water drowning out the chatter of other customers, and the soft lighting creates an intimate atmosphere at every table. 14/09/2025: I came here for my 30th birthday; it was a dream my boyfriend and I had been wanting to do for a long time. From Rome to VdG by public transport was a journey... And then Fabrizione and his team take you on a journey through exquisite dishes that tell a story of study, passion, care, and research. I experienced so many flavors all together that I had never tried before. We both had a tasting menu, and the wine they recommended paired perfectly with the dishes. I loved every dish for different reasons, and I'm going home enriched. Many thanks to the entire VdG team. Oh yes, we had two bottles of Buccia d'Arancia. Pefforza!

15/09/2025: If you're looking for simplicity, good value, and above all, kindness, then this is the place for you. I found it by chance for a short cycling holiday and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is nestled in a charming inland village, away from the hustle and bustle of the coast. The rooms are simply furnished and very clean (if mine had a balcony, it would have been better). Downstairs is the L'Ottavo restaurant, where even on busy days they always found me a table and where I always ate very well! Lastly, the helpfulness and courtesy of Giada and all the staff.

14/09/2025: It's the perfect place to eat game, mushrooms, and more. Among the first courses, I recommend the amberjack pasta made with chestnut flour and seasoned with your choice of sauce. I chose mushrooms, which was very good. A second course presented in an original way is the grilled wild boar and pork skewer. Try it. The location is obviously rustic, surrounded by greenery, but I found the walls covered with the heads of stuffed wild boar, deer, and pheasants that sacrificed themselves to grace the tables to be somewhat questionable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are definitely fair.

28/09/2025: Nice place, friendly service. The house red wine is undrinkable and they bring it already opened (they probably refill it). The cacciucco is light on fish and lots of shellfish, and very greasy (I didn't like it at all). In short: not recommended!

13/08/2025: No, something's not right. At Barcarola, you can feel the super-quality seafood and the very essence of Livorno. An average of 4.2 reviews makes no sense. The raw seafood appetizer was Michelin-starred in quality, the first course (the Commander's) with a mind-blowing amount of fish and lobster (and truly top-quality pasta), the roasted snapper with oven-baked vegetables, perfectly cooked and incredibly fresh, and the light, creamy, freshly made tiramisu. To finish, the Livorno-style Ponche was executed to perfection. A full 5 stars, not just 4.2. Excellent dinner, superb quality, excellent service.

27/08/2025: I ate my first cacciucco here! I have no comparison, since it was my first, but I have to say it was delicious, and the octopus briao was also truly excellent! The staff was incredibly kind and adorable, and the story of the euro stuck on the counter! I hope to return soon!! ❤️

She, together with her husband, has managed Nonna's legacy with great praise!! The flavors and textures of the food took us by storm! Fish and seafood at its best!!
