07/06/2026: We went to this restaurant for lunch on Friday, two adults and our child. Three tables were occupied when we arrived, all by locals, which is exactly why we sat down. What Florentines themselves enjoy eating can only be good. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, including helpful advice, and the chef, who came out of the kitchen later, was very friendly. And our sometimes rather noisy child wasn't considered a nuisance by anyone. While we were there, the restaurant filled up, but the atmosphere remained totally relaxed. For us, it's an absolute hidden gem and highly recommended! Best regards from Vienna

The portions are generous, and the flavors are authentic and timeless. Another strong point is the staff: friendly, attentive, and truly welcoming. 12/06/2026: On my trip to Florence, I'd say this restaurant was my favorite. The pasta was incredibly good, spectacular. The dessert was also amazing; the tiramisu was a 10/10. My only complaint was the waiter who showed me to my table. He wasn't very friendly, but the food was so good that in the end, I didn't care whether he was nice or not.

I hadn't been back in years, perhaps because of the natural skepticism I have for places "too central," but I had to change my mind and really enjoyed it. We tried two simple pizzas, a Margherita and a salami, and they were truly delicious. Low-fat, crispy, and flavorful... ideal for those seeking this style and preferring to avoid the overly pronounced crusts found at other pizzerias in the city center. The space is spacious, so you can hear a bit of conversation, but the tables with high-backed wooden benches create niches, giving you a bit of privacy; it's comfortable. Special mention goes to the staff. The staff is friendly, approachable, and well-organized. The welcome is warm and friendly. Peering around the nearby tables, I saw some truly inviting fresh pasta dishes (made in-house)—a great alternative for those who prefer traditional cuisine. The tiramisu also seems to be a sure thing: a great reason to come back. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It's a solid, no-frills choice. If you're downtown and want to play it safe and eat a good pizza without feeling like a tourist who needs ripping off, this is the place to be. I personally will be back.

07/07/2026: I asked the waitress for an iced soy cappuccino, but she gave me a cup that was almost entirely filled with ice and coffee. I politely asked her to remake it because it wasn't good, but instead she charged me again for the replacement. Unbelievable.

06/07/2026: I've been going to La Cité for years, ever since college. The place still has the same welcoming atmosphere, despite the lack of air conditioning in the summer. Unfortunately, the problem is always the same: another historic establishment that has become a destination for tourists with Northern European incomes. Pain chocolat €3 and croissant €2.50. This is also demonstrated by the reviews, almost exclusively in non-Italian. Piazza della Passera, Santo Spirito, San Frediano: the same trend of a city as a playground for high-income tourists. A real shame.

11/07/2026: We came here as an alternative to the schiacciate shop across the street. It was an excellent choice. We ordered two schiacciate, and the lady making them was really kind. Given the heat, they invited us inside. Everyone was very kind and friendly.

30/03/2026: Their own beers are especially recommended. They also had "Knoblach" on tap. This way, even Italians can enjoy the best Franconian beer from near Bamberg. We'll definitely be back! 😀
