24/09/2025: I'll start by saying that, having a house in Alassio, I know every place in town very well, including the historic Balzola. Unfortunately, for years now, I've felt the value for money was completely lost. A Spritz + Crodino was €13, and no receipt. This would be fine. Unfortunately, the Spritz on top was the worst I've ever had. In my sad opinion, a place that now remains iconic only for its location.

12/09/2025: Breakfast with cappuccino and a croissant with raspberry jam for €4.50!!! The outside area was not clean and there were no napkins. Cappuccino served in vintage cups, but not the right size for a cappuccino, so basically just foam (€2.50). At the checkout, a "guy" who treats customers in an insolent manner... What a shame! But why is it that the worst product always has a higher price than those who do a good job and charge a fair price?

01/12/2025: Saturday, November 30, 2025. To celebrate my birthday, I decided to book a table for 18 people after dinner. When we got there, the table wasn't set yet, so they had to make one for me. Plus, it was cramped, so it was a tight squeeze (I don't know what the point of booking in advance was 😂), but let's move on. After we settled in, the staff was practically absent (we were upstairs). At my request, I asked if we could order drinks after a good 20 minutes of being seated (who knows when the girl would have arrived if I hadn't called her). Once the drinks arrived, we glossed over them and spent the evening in peace. A few of my friends left early and paid their share at the register. At the end of the evening, the rest of my friends and I went downstairs to pay; the owner even asked for the money from those who had actually already paid. Summary: Paid for 2 more drinks than had already been paid for (€20). A friend of mine: Instead of paying €20 (€10 each), he paid €30 for 2 drinks, leaving the owner pocketing €10. His justification was: "The drinks you ordered cost more than €10 on the menu," which is absolutely not true. Another friend of mine: He ordered a mojito and sparkling water, totaling €22. As if we were in Venice. Doing the math, they pocketed more than €40. They'll never see us again, not even with binoculars, these poor people.
