04/03/2026: We visited this Italian restaurant only briefly, as we were on a tight schedule to make our reservation at the Pantheon in Rome. Because of that, we ordered just pizza, without drinks or dessert.
Even though our stay was short, we had a pleasant experience. The pizza was freshly made, with a thin, crispy crust and high-quality ingredients. The flavors were authentic and truly Italian. The service was quick and efficient, which we really appreciated given our limited time.
Although we didn’t have the chance to try more from the menu, our experience was positive, and we would gladly return next time to enjoy a full meal without rushing.

11/03/2026: I don't want to comment on the chain, of which I am a regular customer. But this time I want to compliment the management of this particular store: they provided us with a superb aperitif, with many (good) items, catering to vegans and non-vegans, maximum availability, kindness, and excellent value for money. Congratulations, if I'm in the area again, I'll repeat the experience.

19/10/2025: What a discovery! We stumbled upon it by chance for the wild boar festival, and had a stellar aperitif, worthy of a 10-star rating. Then we headed to the festival, but the line was interminable, so we returned to the bar, which welcomed us, immediately setting up tables, and offering a menu that was nothing short of exceptional. We spent a fair amount, but the service was truly amazing! 5 stars because I can't give it more, we'll definitely be back.
15/10/2025: We stopped for a coffee in this little village bar, the owner is exceptional! We found ourselves without accommodation because booking did not validate our reservation, he tried to find us a solution by calling acquaintances, Adorable! Go there without hesitation!. Thanks again

02/01/2026: The service was excellent, but I felt like I was eating in a typical central Roman restaurant where you pay for the location rather than the food. It was a mediocre experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone visiting Rome looking for traditional Roman food (I recommend restaurants in the suburbs), but overall the service was decent, and the waiters were helpful and friendly.
28/12/2025: Welcoming atmosphere and excellent food. The bill, considering it's in the center of Rome, is very competitive. Highly recommended. I'll be back every time I'm in the area.

21/08/2025: I may be biased, but Google is asking me for the third time after two months how I had my time. I had a great time!
At Taberna, you eat and drink like in few other places (and I'm not just talking about Civitavecchia), so go and try it!
(Please refrain from people who go out once every two years and cheapskates who ignore the ingredients.)

23/12/2025: It's been a while since I've been, but the excellent quality of the ingredients has endured. The place is divided in two by the fish counter, with two entrances: one for the fishmonger and one for the small, cozy dining area. I think it can seat four or five tables, and the highlight is that when you walk in, you can smell the sea air without any unpleasant odors. The young man who served us was helpful and knowledgeable, and recommended the razor clams au gratin, which were excellent! For a treat, we each had an oyster and a salad with salmon sashimi, all deliciously fresh and top-quality! The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that, in my opinion, they should lower the wine prices a bit. Highly recommended!

04/11/2025: Delicious pastries for 40 years.
A few years after my previous review, I must unfortunately note that the mini pastries are no longer what they used to be. I've bought them a few times, and even if I eat them no more than three hours later, having kept them in the refrigerator, they're already gone, with flabby pastry and cream or almost sour cream. You can't sell old pastries, because it's not just a question of money, but because it takes away a joy you wanted to bring home to celebrate. Not Schettino, at least the old one. After 40 years, I'm forced to change pastry shops.
26/10/2025: We sit at the table, convinced that, like in all bars in Rome, there's table service, a waitress next to us chats with some customers. We wait, 15 minutes. She doesn't even look up, just keeps going about her business, as if she were paid to talk about hair color and vacations. Finally, I get up and ask if there's table service, since other people had been served while we hadn't. She replies, "If you want table service, come in and order it." This place used to be a beautiful bar,
now, besides being old and sad, it's also run by people who have no customer service whatsoever. Well, move on.

14/03/2026: Ideal for dropping in with a group of people (in our case, a school class) without a reservation. Huge amount of space, fast and good food.
13/03/2026: Bruschetta - a slice of oven-baked bread with diced tomatoes on top.
It needed seasoning, but there was no rocket :-(
The house wine was so-so.

19/12/2025: Very friendly staff, good food, and they put me on Napoli vs. Milan, who were playing in the Super Cup. The bar has comfortable sofas inside and chairs outside. Recommended.

I was really surprised by the waiter's behavior when he was listing the first courses, and since I already knew what I wanted, I was on my phone, when he reprimanded me saying he was working and that I should pick up the phone, but who are you, my mother? I hope they change the service as soon as possible.
