28/01/2026: Spectacular dinner! The menu is refined and varied, with interesting and unique dishes (it really stands out compared to other restaurants in the Vibo Valentia area). The cod pinsa and the egg and truffle crostini were truly exceptional! There's a wide selection of wines, especially from the South. Highly recommended for those looking for a different dinner in a welcoming atmosphere. The owner is an excellent host, very kind and knowledgeable about his dishes, and is very willing to adapt them to personal tastes and food intolerances. We'll definitely be back!

22/01/2026: Our visit to Osteria San Francesco on June 8th, 2025, was a wonderful experience. Francesco welcomed us warmly and offered us seats on the terrace. I had the impression he was a little surprised that we wanted to eat there with 10 people. He immediately called his brother Massimo, who prepared the kitchen. Several other helpers also arrived to assist Massimo with the cooking. The Osteria is somewhat hidden away on a small, steeply rising road. The dining rooms aren't very large, but there's also a grotto, a room carved directly into the mountainside. Francesco and Massimo are very friendly and they made our evening truly enjoyable. The food, prepared by Massimo, was excellent. It's safe to say that the Osteria team knows how to cook. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely return.

The service is distinguished by a natural kindness and impeccable professionalism: attentive, meticulous, and elegant, yet never intrusive. Everything is enhanced by a pleasant touch of humor and charm, measured and intelligent, which contributes to a relaxed and authentic atmosphere. The cuisine is the true protagonist: delicate and balanced dishes, crafted around noble, top-quality ingredients. Each course is enhanced by excellent, refined, and harmonious plating, pleasing the eye even before the palate. Also worthy of special mention is the extensive and carefully curated wine cellar, packed with prestigious labels and interesting discoveries, designed to expertly and sensitively complement the dishes, offering pairings worthy of the gastronomic offerings. Overall, a wonderful culinary experience, where the view, service, cuisine, and wine cellar interact in perfect harmony. 08/02/2026: An excellent experience at the Alle Colonne Restaurant/Pub in Caulonia (RC). The atmosphere is welcoming and refined, the staff is friendly and always available...you really feel at home...The pizzas are excellent, with a light dough and quality ingredients, as are the dishes, prepared with care and flavor, especially those from the Caulonia tradition. An ideal place to spend a pleasant evening, and more, with friends. Highly recommended!

07/01/2026: Today I stopped into this pastry shop for the first time to buy some nougat (which I've yet to try). Seeing a display case packed with fresh pastries, I decided to buy four mini torciglioni to have breakfast at home with a coffee. Unfortunately, I have to admit that the torciglioni were terrible: they had a strong smell of oil, and when tasted, they were not only very greasy, but—even worse—they had a distinct taste of used oil, probably used for frying for a long time. From this experience, I reported a strong acidity and burning sensation in my esophagus throughout the day. I understand that mistakes can happen, but this seemed rather serious for a pastry shop that has been in business since 1964. The owner who served me was very kind and helpful; so I hope that, after this review, she can take charge of the situation and ensure that I never find, display, and especially sell, inedible pastries again. The quality and freshness of the ingredients, along with the care taken in their preparation, should be the cornerstone of a pastry shop of this caliber. I hope to return in the future and find pastries that live up to its reputation.

19/10/2025: “Incipit” is almost a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy High Street and tourist-heavy areas. This spot comes highly recommended by locals — and for good reason. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace with views over the piazza, but the real wow factor comes when you choose to dine indoors… in the cave! Yes, a beautifully lit, cosy cave with an incredible atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The menu is fantastic, offering a perfect mix of local favourites and creative twists. We went all out and enjoyed the full experience: antipasto, primo, and secondo. The tuna tartare was outstanding, bursting with freshness and flavour. I had the Fileja al ’Nduja ragu, which was absolutely mind-blowing — and high on my Calabria culinary wish list. My partner chose the hazelnut risotto, which was equally exceptional. For mains, I had the pistachio-crusted seabass while my partner had the cod — both dishes beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended if you want an authentic, high-quality dining experience away from the tourist traps. Grazie mille per il fantastico servizio 🙏👌👏

06/01/2026: This restaurant is located just steps from Gambarie's main square. The atmosphere is very quaint and welcoming on cold or snowy days, thanks also to the fireplace. Excellent selection of wines and delicious dishes, from appetizers to dessert. Recommended!

29/12/2025: We had a family lunch on Boxing Day. The atmosphere was welcoming and attentive. We ordered first and second courses. The pasta was very good, in my case with a delicious wild boar ragù. The meat dishes were also excellent, from lamb to stew to pork shank. We paired our meal with the organic Cirò wine recommended by the owner. The staff was courteous and friendly. We'll be back!

04/01/2026: Excellent pastry at reasonable prices, consistently friendly service, and a central location: these are the ingredients that have led to the well-deserved success of Bar Roma, one of the city center's longest-running establishments. Like many others, I recommend the Fiocco di Neve, their specialty, but whatever you choose, you can't go wrong.

24/12/2025: I had a babà cake with sour cream yesterday for my birthday. It's a shame this slip-up at Bar Roma. The cake was obviously old, even though it had been ordered.

29/01/2026: I stumbled upon the restaurant by chance, while traveling and reading the reviews. We were hospitable and knowledgeable; we had a business lunch featuring seafood. Gourmet dishes at fairly reasonable prices, nothing over the top. The food was good.
