23/01/2026: Over priced for the food quality, the starter where mostly fine, I would not recommend the winter greens, a nice option for vegetarians but would not go for it again. I found the main course, Tagliata with mushrooms to be bland and the meat tough. Perhaps just bad luck but for a sitting that cost 100€ I had higher expectations. My friends went for the fondue and from what I tasted of it it was nothing special. As for the atmosphere, we all thought that it looked nice but most complained that it was to hot in the room we were sitting and you could feel the the stale air. More ventilation is needed if you should have that many ppl and fondue pots in the same room.

20/01/2026: We order steak and ravioli. First with the positive cant say anything about ravioli they were good. About the steak first it came in raw(we ordered medium) it wqs super chewy, wrongly cut, and 0 taste. We at least asked if this is medium and they admited and being it back to kitchen. Than they bringed it back and gave us medium well more like well. We tried to eat it since i know there is no save at this time but it was still super chewy and with even less taste. So we left around 3/5 of the steak. We waitied like 20 minutes befoee somebody noticed us we finished ( the waitress walk around us many times and than stand in the back) After 20 minutes she came and didnt as anything, she lookes completly cool with that we left mroe than half steak, not a word if the food was good anything only if we want deserve. When im paying 60+ euros per one food in luxury 5 star hotel i would expect a top quality. I get that something can be wrong with the meat or it can be just error . But what really makes me sad is that the waitress didnt even care.

22/02/2026: One of the few restaurants in Bolzano open on Sundays. Delicious beef tartare and breaded squid.

15/02/2026: I'd never been there before and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, the service, and the food. I had the linguine with pesto, burrata, and salted dried tomatoes, which were truly delicious. The only flaw was that the portion wasn't very generous—just right if you also ordered a second course—but after ordering just the first course, you'd be left wanting more.

22/02/2026: We can't say we ate badly, but being made fun of is... the very distracted waiter brought the wrong appetizer and then changed it, but in the meantime I was eating and my wife was watching me. We ordered half a liter of house wine and no one told us that they only served wine by the glass at a price of more than €5 each, then we had a coffee. I asked for the bill and paid trustingly... when we got home we realized that the coffees on the bill were 2 and that the half liter of wine cost us more than €20... dishonest, never to see you again

15/02/2026: We tried this restaurant outside the hotel and I have to say we were very happy, we can't wait to go back! Very kind, friendly, and truly welcoming waiters ☺️ high-quality, well-prepared food. Perfectly plated and served. Everything was delicious 🤤😍 the dessert, chestnut tiramisu, a discovery 😍😍 well-deserved tip!

03/10/2025: We arrived without a reservation, and they found us a table and served us promptly. Very friendly and fast. The view of the valley is beautiful, as the restaurant is located at the edge of the forest, higher up than everything else. The food was good; we had a venison carpaccio appetizer and grilled vegetables (my partner), followed by a Swiss pine risotto and a potato soup. I'd say it was all very good and the price was average.

The atmosphere is pleasant, inviting, and perfect for lingering. The food is absolutely outstanding: freshly prepared, incredibly flavorful, and presented with meticulous attention to detail. The small but exquisite menu prioritizes quality over quantity and leaves nothing to be desired. Every dish is thoughtfully designed and perfectly balanced. The fantastic wine selection deserves special mention. In addition to carefully chosen wines, the house wine is particularly impressive, tasting superb and pairing beautifully with the dishes. Attentive and friendly service completes the experience. A restaurant we wholeheartedly recommend – we will definitely be back!

04/01/2026: While staying in Brixen we decided to venture a few minutes out of town to this restaurant and we did not regret it. The restaurant is a family business. You are welcomed by the owners who take great care of you throughout your meal with suggestions about wine pairings and anything you might need. Most ingredients are sourced locally, if they don't come directly from their estate - like the wine and the grappa. The owner's son is in the kitchen. The menu provides a selection of courses (appetizers, primi, secondi and dessert) and offers as well a pre-fixed menu. Everything is cooked to order and masterfully plated. I would also add that the value is outstanding, compared to what you would find downtown Brixen and in relation to the quality of the food. The environment is elegant and the restaurant overlooks the valley, providing a dining experience with a stunning view.

17/12/2025: We returned to this hotel after many years and found it renovated but still beautiful. The food, friendliness, and cleanliness are top notch. We will definitely return. Alberti Family

17/12/2025: Bar/Bistro a few steps from Novacella Abbey. Not knowing where to go after visiting the abbey, I stopped for lunch. I chose this place at random, just to grab a bite to eat. Cute place, friendly owner. I ordered a couple of cold dishes and a dessert. Average prices for the area (not cheap). Positive experience.

06/01/2026: We had a truly wonderful time staying at Gasthof Kohlern. The fresh, high-quality (often locally-sourced) food and the hospitality were our favorite parts. The waitstaff showed upmost professionalism but also a relaxed kindness that made us feel really at home. We hope to come back!

20/12/2025: I left a €50 deposit and had to cancel after 10 minutes due to an error. I called and asked if I could reverse the transaction, and they told me that to get the deposit back, I only had to take €20 because they were keeping €30 for the refund. This doesn't seem normal to me; I've never heard of anything like it.

03/03/2026: If you happen to be vacationing in the area and have forgotten that kitchens generally all close at 9 or 10 PM, even in the city, this place can be your lifesaver for a quick, last-minute dinner: the kitchen stays open until late! After wandering far and wide to find a place to eat, we finally arrived at this establishment late in the evening. The staff welcomed us kindly and quickly got us dinner without too much fuss or rushing. We ate pizza and some traditional Tyrolean dishes, and I must say that everything was cooked perfectly and the pizza was truly delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the place overall was very spacious, clean, and well-kept.
