I write these words with a hint of melancholy, after returning to what for me, since time immemorial, has been not just a restaurant, but a true refuge. I've been coming to Rucola since I was a boy; it saw me become a man, a husband, and a father. It's where I've celebrated the most important milestones in my family, from my children's first communion, with the certainty that we would be welcomed not as customers, but as longtime friends. Yesterday, sadly, I strongly felt the absence of what made this place special: Biagio's warm and ever-present welcome. The memories of Maurizio's Inter Milan that colored the shelves. That historic cuisine, made of unchanging flavors that tasted of home and security. Food is important, but the owners' smile was the secret ingredient that completed every dish. Entering La Rucola meant disconnecting from everything and feeling protected by a management team that put their heart and soul into it. ​I want to send a heartfelt greeting to all the people who have shaped the history of this restaurant and to all the customers who, like me, shared a part of their journey at those tables. 25/04/2026: We used to come here quite often over 10 years ago and were always very satisfied. After many years, we wanted to eat there again, for old times' sake. The service was great. Unfortunately, the pizza was only average; the dough was undercooked, and the prosciutto was very thin and sparse. The price is good. The fish platter is very tasty.

24/04/2026: The pizza is okay, but forget about the rest. Avoid the salmon and tuna tartare, which I wouldn't even give to my cat. The ingredients may be premium, but if you don't know how to make the most of them, they're worth very little. The rude and unprofessional head waiter decided to charge for them anyway, even though we'd barely tasted them. Change management, because this place really deserves it.

01/06/2026: We had very high expectations for this restaurant, and visually, it did not disappoint. The interior is absolutely stunning: elegant Liberty-style décor, refined, and truly fancy atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, my friend and I were excited for what we thought would be a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined it. From the very beginning, we did not feel welcomed. The staff gave us unfriendly looks as soon as we arrived, which set an uncomfortable tone. While we were calmly looking through the menu (and the restaurant was nearly empty—only a few tables occupied), one of the waitresses stood nearby in a way that made us feel rushed to order. We were speaking in English, and instead of offering help or recommendations, she made a comment (“Mi dispiace devi tradurre tutto”) that came across as dismissive and rude rather than helpful. The situation with our bags was also frustrating. There was no space provided, and despite asking multiple times (to different staff members, 3 to be exact) for a hanger or even a chair, we were repeatedly brushed off. Eventually, we were told to leave our bags in another room—completely out of sight—which is unacceptable, especially in a restaurant of this level and price range. The overall attitude of the staff was consistently unprofessional. At one point, while I was simply walking around and taking a few photos of the beautiful interior, I was approached in a way that felt more like suspicion than assistance, which made the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. It’s a real shame, because the food was actually very good, and the desserts were excellent. The chef clearly knows what he is doing. But great cuisine cannot compensate for poor service—especially in a place that presents itself as refined and high-end. In summary: a beautiful restaurant with excellent food, but the service was disappointing and at times outright rude. I hope management addresses this, because the potential is truly there and it's a pity if people don't enjoy.

28/04/2026: We went on a Sunday for lunch. The pizza was good, and the atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. Plenty of parking for those arriving by car. Prices were average. If you need to charge your phone or anything else, they don't do it. Overall, a positive experience.
