08/11/2023: I regularly visit the beautiful Cipriani for drinks/cocktails in the bar and by the pool almost every night while I’m in Venice and I’ve been to the Cip’s Club restaurant a couple of times, but this was my first time at Oro and was more than pleasantly surprised at how great the cuisine here is. The food served is modern but pays homage to Venice and the lagoon. We had great pasta and risotto naturally, but some other dishes were very interesting, unique and presented beautifully, such as the Venetian mask shaped cracker topped with flowers and there was also a savoury drink for a course that was presented in a glass that looked like a garden. Presentation here is truly top notch. My partner eats meat, but as a vegetarian I didn’t feel left behind whatsoever. One of the greatest pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten was here at Oro, it was a linguine with smoked tomatoes and if I remember I believe it had sultanas and pine nuts also, so it was a pasta reinterpretation of sarde in saor. This dish was equally as good as pasta I’ve had in Le Calandre and Osteria Francescana. This is a must visit restaurant for vegetarians. The wine list is great and we drank a lovely wine of Veneto, which was a Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone. The décor of the restaurant reminds me of the 50s/60s and the “Dolce Vita” era, which is typical of the whole Cipriani hotel actually. The restaurant also has views of the calm lagoon and across to the Lido. The service was friendly and professional, especially one gentleman stands out who went out his way to chat to us for a while and got us a bag for our finished wine bottle as I like to collect bottles and put them on display. It must be said that I really cannot comprehend the negative reviews for Oro and these must be ignored as I don’t think these people know what they’re talking about. I’ve eaten in one, two and three Michelin star restaurants around the world, including Paris and some of the best in Italy and I can quite confidently say Oro should be at least two Michelin stars. Enoteca Pinchiorri is the worst three Michelin starred restaurant I’ve ever eaten in and Oro is a much better restaurant. I’d recommend taking the complimentary shuttle boat from San Marco to spend an evening eating at Oro and having pre or after dinner drinks in the bar or by the pool listening to the live music and singers. A must visit while in Venice!

20/10/2023: Surprise, en arrivant au restaurant avec la confirmation internet de ma réservation on m’annonce que je ne suis pas sur la liste des réservations !!! Pourtant, elle est bien réelle, avec empreinte de carte bleue et pénalités si jamais je ne me présente pas en temps et en heure !!! On me dit que l’on m’a envoyé un mail d’annulation dont je n’ai pas la trace, sinon je ne me serai pas déplacé… bref, on m’offre une coupe de pétillant pour faire passer la pilule et on me dirige vers l’autre restaurant de l’hôtel. Entre parenthèses à éviter, tarif élevés et pas exceptionnel. Donc expérience très négative, nous avons été très déçu, on ne nous a même pas proposé de revenir un autre jour !! Bref , j’ai eu l’impression d’arriver chez Mac do, qui complet m’envoie chez Flunch en face !? Indigne d’un étoilé au Michelin

24/03/2024: The squid ink pasta is delightful, the seafood platter was decent, and the panna cotta is enjoyable.

22/03/2024: They deserve a 0. In Spain they make better pasta than here. We ordered spaghetti with cuttlefish and they gave us spaghetti with tomato. It is a tourist site with little gastronomic quality and on top of that it is very expensive. For a bottle of water they charge you €5. They charge you separately for the cover and the service. Appalling

29/03/2024: Cozy place, very friendly and helpful staff, I took a classic seafood appetizer at normal prices. I always come back willingly

15/03/2024: I had known him all my life, today after a medical visit from my mother we decided to walk through the door, what can I say first of all I compliment the staff who are truly kind, professional and attentive towards and above all my mother a person of a certain age, congratulations. Then we move on to the very quiet, convivial environment and finally the very, very good and fresh food at reasonable prices. Well done everyone, highly recommended

30/03/2024: Wow. We are overwhelmed. The ambience is incredibly beautiful. A pleasure to just sit there in the bar. The view outside is also wonderful. The service is very attentive and nice. The hot chocolate was so tasty. There was also a collection of homemade cookies. It was an experience.

28/03/2024: In itself a nice Burano-style restaurant, but unfortunately the service could be better and the food was unfortunately not necessarily satisfactory, as one would expect from an Italian kitchen. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio does not match here.

31/12/2023: Cozy restaurant in the city centre with traditional Venecian cuisine. We had roasted chicken and mix grilled meat, both dishes were tasty. Prices are fine considering Venice’s prices. Service is Ok

08/04/2024: C'est un bon restaurant semi-gastro. Nous avons bien mangé : les recettes sont travaillées et c'est bon (nous avions pris la pintade et l'orphie). Le service est agréable et plutôt rapide. Nous avons apprécié aussi le cadre intimiste du restaurant. Pour se mettre en appétit, nous avons eu des amuses bouches, et pains faits maison, avant le plat consistant. C'est toutefois assez cher, sans grosse quantité, mais c'est le propre de ce genre de restaurant.
