13/07/2026: We had a great lunch at Vero Bistro while we were waiting for connecting trains. The food was simple but excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great coffee too.
When I'm back in Pisa, I'll definitely go back.

14/08/2026: Incredibly good Chianina Bistecca alla Fiorentina. I've eaten at some of the 101 Best Steakhouses in the World, including Michelin-starred ones. This steak ranks among the best I've ever eaten. Thank you for this amazing experience.

25/06/2026: One of the best views over the Tuscany hills you will ever experience in your life.
Catching the sunrise was a highlight, and just staring up at the starry sky, pitch black, flickering stars of galaxies. Pure bliss!
Yes, you can clearly hear the insects and cricket noises constantly, but apply some bug spray and you'll be fine.
Drive slow on approach to this villa, as the terrain is quite dusty and a little steep. Plenty of space to park your car, and transfer luggage to the villa's accommodation spaces. Some rooms may require a lift of the door handle to lock properly - ask with the hosts to confirm.
Room 8 (that I stayed in) had the following:
Sofa, TV, Table, Chairs, Fridge & Freezer combo (turn dial inside to switch on), dishwasher, usual utensils (pots, pans, bottle opener, ladle, etc), kettle, oven stove, wash basin, sink, plenty of IKEA cupboards.
Bathroom: Shower, sink, storage space, toilet, bidét, bath towels.
Bedroom: Giant wardrobe with extra bedding inside if needed, Double bed, Single Bed, Window shutters - mesh net over window to stop insects entering the room.
Overall, Very happy to have stayed here for a nearby wedding at Villa Ulignano. Huge thanks to the hosts for being so kind :)

17/07/2026: The place has now changed management and is called IR PASTAIO: now it's definitely very convenient. Basically, you choose the fresh pasta from the counter and the dish is then served in the type you like (carbonara, ragù di mucco, etc.). For just €6, for example, they'll get you a huge plate of caciuccata di fusilli!!! Really well prepared!!! Far from the crazy prices of many restaurants... Highly recommended place and unfortunately not advertised enough. For like €10 you can have pasta and dessert 👍👍👍
27/06/2026: Ir Tegame no longer exists. It's now called Ir Pastaio, the same place and the same menu, but it's like a diner: you choose your pasta shape and sauce, then you eat at a small table with plastic cutlery and a placemat that you take and throw away. Fast food prices and nothing more. They don't take reservations.

21/03/2026: For lunch today, I had ricotta and spinach tortello with ragù, which I'd say was excellent. The menu prices, even for a working man, were reasonable, and the place was clean.
26/12/2025: Unfortunately, I can't give a positive review because, despite having booked through a well-known restaurant reservations site, the restaurant was closed when we arrived. Thinking I'd got the wrong address, I called, and they confirmed they were closed, without even an apology.

19/07/2025: Cena sabato sera. Plateau di ostriche per due persone…. Linguine alle vongole speciali consigliate dal nostro garçon… purtroppo astemi. Dolci fatti da loro magnifici… locale in ordine e molto pulito…. Servizio cordiale e puntuale, senza nessuna sbavatura: professionale! Conto medio-alto. ..ma la qualità si paga!!!! Grazie e bravi davvero!!!
25/06/2025: Cercavamo un locale per mangiare buon pesce. Una delle opzioni era Nando. Stranamente non avevamo sentito di questo ristorante di pesce a Pisa in precedenza. È stata una esperienza eccezionale, gentilezza, ospitalità, qualità dei prodotti. Mangiare il pescato è una cosa seria e delicata, tutto dipende dalla freschezza e dalla provenienza del pescato. Se la cena è stata buona si sente soprattutto il giorno dopo. Un applauso a Nando per la serietà e la bontá del cibo. Ritorneremo.

05/08/2024: Niente da dire sulla location e sull’atmosfera del locale, davvero incantevole! Quello che lascia perplessi è tutto il contorno: parcheggi quasi impossibili fuori dal locale, prenotazione non possibile sotto le 8 persone, ordinazioni e ritiro di bevande/cibo che devono essere fatte di persona alla cassa (creando fila e confusione assurda), prezzi davvero esagerati a considerare anche il servizio offerto. Era da tanto che volevo venirci, sono rimasto con l’amaro in bocca. Nota decisamente positiva: la gentilezza dello staff che si perde comunque nel caos delle ordinazioni.
22/07/2024: Bellissimo locale sulla spiagge dove fare un classico aperitivo (patatine, noccioline, olive) sulla spiaggia comodamente sudato oppure stenderti su stuoie. Molto bello anche il dopo cena. Rispetto agli anni passati non c’è più “l’apericena” ma puoi acquistare dei piatti per trasformalo il tuo aperitivo in tale. Anche l’abbigliamento è diventato molto formale e nn più come anni fa da pantaloncini e maglietta

18/04/2025: Branzino al sale spettacolare, location curata, molto gentili e didascalici , tra un po’ mi raccontavano l’albero genealogico del branzino…
Vino bianco abbinato al branzino eccellente ( no spoiler) . A parte il branzino al sale null’altro di ciò che ho assaggiato mi ha colpito. Per una cena di lavoro va bene.
11/04/2025: Io non ho avuto la fortuna di assaggiare i loro piatti che a dire di amici e conoscenti sono molto buoni. Peccato per la gestione. Ho chiesto disponibilità per un pranzo, mi è stato detto che dovevano controllare e mi avrebbero richiamata. Non lo hanno fatto ed io il giorno dopo ho richiamato e mi hanno detto che mi avrebbero fatto sapere nel giro di 5 minuti. Sono passati tre giorni. Meglio dire subito che non c' è posto. Ci vuole anche professionalità non solo una buona cucina.
