22/10/2024: We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the San Carlo. The hotel is cozy and clean. In the evening we had an outstanding “Tartufo Experience” menu. You can tell how much love and appreciation goes into cooking here. The ingredients were local and fresh, everything was beautifully prepared and served with a top wine recommendation. Paola and Carlo are warm hosts, you immediately feel welcome and in good hands.

17/02/2025: We took a very short family vacation in Carloforte and we found THE TOP!
The “Residenza al Castello” has only positive points:
spacious, bright and very clean room, equipped with all comforts and with 2 panoramic balconies!
The structure is very close to the center, reachable on foot in a few minutes!
The owner Anna Carla gave us all the useful information for a truly pleasant and high-level stay and she was extraordinarily kind, helpful and professional!
Another absolutely positive point is that this structure was open in low season (February), while many local structures are closed in the same period!
In short: highly recommended experience and structure! Too bad I can't give more stars!

14/06/2025: Sono partito apposta da Asti in moto per provare la “spaghettoteca” … il servizio è apprezzabile ma disattento infatti mi han portato gli spaghetti alle vongole veraci con il pomodoro dopo che mi erano stati suggeriti in bianco ma me li hanno sostituiti…. Veniamo al piatto, la pasta è precotta (male)e slegata dal condimento peccato perché le vongole in sé erano buone e fresche. Per quanto riguarda invece le penne all’arrabbiata beh un disastro non erano neanche piccanti ed erano più mezze maniche che penne. A voi l’ardua sentenza … io ci stendo un velo pietoso e non ci tornerò più di sicuro

21/06/2025: What a lovely gem Locanda Del Pilone is with its one star Michelin restaurant. 😊👏
Situated a few kilometers outside of the town Alba, we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon relaxing at the pool to then be served in the Michelin star restaurant at the Locanda.
From our arrival to our departure the quality of the service we received was excellent! Thank you 😊 The Locanda sits in a beautiful location on a hill overlooking the majestic vineyard scenery.
The room we had was very nice; large, clean beautifully decorated very quiet and comfortable.
The property is very clean inside and the gardens are very well kept too.
We will certainly be back. Thank you for making our stay really lovely.

Servizio ottimo, cibo buono personale e proprietaria di una cortesia rara... ci hanno consigliato anche cantine di nicchia in cui degustare ottimo vino!
Sempre attenti e cordiali..
Siamo tornati altre volte nei giorni a seguire per aperitivo e colazione... a mio parere Fantastici!

They were able to serve us quickly even though everything was full. A nice surprise. Well-prepared local dishes at a reasonable price. 3 appetizers, 3 antipasti, 3 primeriplati, and 3 coffees for around €90.
(Ps: The coffee cremas are very good 😉)

30/03/2025: Sincere and warm welcome, always attentive service and maximum courtesy.
Even on a very crowded evening everyone was super. There was also a very discreet security guard.
The meat dishes were excellent and the Bud Spencer beans were exceptional.
Well done everyone!
20/02/2025: Although it is a nice place, well-kept, minimal but well arranged inside, it has a fairly well-curated drinks and wine list.
Unfortunately the bottle of Nebbiolo (which is still a red...) was served to us at a temperature that was really too low, compared to the normal serving temperature.
The waitress had difficulty opening the bottle itself but this was surmountable.
Unfortunately, however, after half an hour, we were told that the place would close not too long after, so the bottle was recorked and drunk the next day at home, unfortunately.
Not exactly the best evening...

26/04/2025: Last night they didn't let us in for any reason, we were 2 boys and a girl and for some reason they told us we couldn't enter. The bouncer was talking on the radio and saying the owner saw it on the camera, even though it didn't make sense. I asked for a reason why but no one gave us a reason.
Based on art.187 of TULPS, bars cannot make customer choices but only if the customer is drunk or does not respect the dress code or if the customer is aggressive. We were all right and calm.
Then others arrived also dressed in sportswear and in groups of 5-6 boys and entered without problems.
I've been there before and the bouncers act as if it were their bar. Starving. People smoke and do drugs everywhere.
I think this is the clientele they want. Only drug addicts.
At some point I thought about filing a complaint but I don't want to deal with these people.
25/04/2025: Good evening.
I'm writing on my way home because the Albanian bouncer has decided that males don't enter.
Initially they told us that it is by reservation, then when two of our friends were already inside without a reservation and came out to say so, they said that only girls can enter.
The funny thing is that after two minutes another group of guys arrived and they weren't allowed in because the Albanian bouncer remembered that there had been an argument two years ago.
The other bouncers had no power, we followed the Albanian's orders.
Tonight they lost 8 customers while the place was empty at 01:00.

27/01/2025: In viaggio in Piemonte, dopo aver letto svariate recensioni su questo ristorante decidiamo di visitarlo. Arrivati e accolti dal personale da una calda accoglienza in un locale carino e semplice e molto pulito.
il cameriere che ci ha servito, con aria saputella ( poco preparato ) ci ha raccontato il menù, abbiamo preso un antipasto ( crudo di pesce ) molto buono, un plin ( porzione mignon ) senza un briciolo di sughetto senza sapore, e due buoni brasati.
Al momento del dolce abbiamo optato per un tris di formaggi, dopo aver richiesto un blue cheese assieme ad altri due formaggi, il cameriere sbagliandosi riprende dal nostro piatto un formaggio che ci aveva servito senza che noi lo chiedessimo rimettendolo sul tavolo di servizio con aria strafottente. ( cioè mi riprendi dal piatto una fettina di formaggio già toccata ? )
Una scena raccapricciante!!!
Signori, studiate ospitalità, visto lo sbaglio si lascia nel piatto…

05/01/2025: Location adeguata , ottima lista dei vini , prezzo elevato ma in linea con le aspettative. Il servizio… si può fare di meglio, essere interrotti in un dialogo ogni 5 minuti perché devi rispondere alla domanda “ tutto bene signori” o perché devi servire il vino , mi sembra eccessivo. In ogni caso positivo

31/03/2025: Locale raffinato con una bella vista sulle colline. La cucina di alto livello spazia dalla carne al pesce; tutti i piatti sono buonissimi e dimostrano attenzione nella scelta delle materie prime, capacità nel lavorarle e creatività senza snaturare la ricetta. Il servizio è impeccabile, tutto il personale è gentile e professionale. In sintesi perfetto.
19/01/2025: Ristorante grazioso ed in stile moderno. Belle scelte gastronomiche e buona selezione di vini.
Non si spende poi troppo: menù degustazione senza vini 115€.
Servizio cortese e chef che viene a salutarvi al tavolo.

20/04/2025: Conservavo un ottimo ricordo di questo posto, soprattutto per l'atmosfera accogliente e la cucina tradizionale ma diversa dal solito.
I prezzi sono alti, lo si vede già dal menu esposto all'esterno del locale, però siamo a Limone, ecc. e un occhio, lo si può anche chiudere.
I salumi li abbiamo trovati di qualità scadente, in particolare il crudo era "imbarazzante". Il formaggio da raclette con effetto plasticoso, ben diverso da altri che ho consumato a Briançon.
Tartiflette senz'anima, con formaggio non pervenuto, a base di panna.
Insomma, un posto caro per la qualità che offre, peccato essermi rovinato il bel ricordo che ne avevo.
01/04/2025: Ragazzi molto cortesi, simpatici e disponibili. Bagna cauda e tartiflette ottime, unica pecca locale molto freddo e bancomat che non funziona. Ma nel complesso tutto molto buono, anche se i prezzi sono lievemente salati, ma poca roba… Lo consiglieremo e ci torneremo!

14/10/2023: PESSIMO, UN TEATRINO RIDICOLO. Ho avuto la pessima idea di pranzare in questo ristorante stellato, ma la mia esperienza è stata assutamente deludente. Il prezzo elevato non sarebbe stato un problema se il cibo avesse retto il confronto. Purtroppo, la cucina sembrava essere stata relegata in secondo piano in favore di un'esibizione teatrale dei camerieri.
Piatti costosi e incomprensibili erano presentati come "arte gastronomica", ma la realtà era ben diversa. Gli ingredienti di qualità sembravano smarriti in una confusione di elementi decorativi. La danza incessante dei camerieri era uno spettacolo inutile che sostituiva la sostanza della buona cucina.
L'unico aspetto autentico di questa esperienza era la delusione. Il prezzo elevato era un insulto, non un indicatore di qualità. Questo ristorante sembra aver dimenticato che il cibo dovrebbe essere il protagonista, non la fuffa circostante. Una beffa costosa che disperde i veri sapori della cucina delle Langhe e prende di mira i clienti che cercano autenticità. Non ci tornerò mai più.

19/10/2024: siamo stati al ristorante garden per un pranzo di compleanno in famiglia, il posto è molto bello e ben curato .
Il menù ha pochi piatti il che è ottimo però all'atto pratico la realizzazione dei piatti mi ha deluso in quanto non hanno quel qualcosa in più che ti aspetteresti in un posto del genere .
La rolata di agnello sambucano sembrava più un polpettone , risotto con zucca e salsiccia di Bra era un risotto alla zucca con 5 mozziconi di salsiccia sopra ,il flan di carote con crema di acciughe era buono ma piuttosto duro.
Il servizio è da migliorare ,il dito della cameriera nel piatto del risotto non è il massimo.
