30/11/2025: I had the pleasure of dining at Ristorante Asmara thanks to a Smartbox gift, and it was a truly positive experience. The restaurant is welcoming and traditionally African, the staff extremely friendly, and the food excellent. Definitely worth a try!

Sahara
Roma
12/10/2025: Excellent food and dining experience. Definitely worth returning.
12/10/2025: We come to this Ethiopian restaurant in Piazza Bologna very often and we love it! The atmosphere is truly authentic, with attention to detail, and it immediately immerses you in the African atmosphere. The waitresses are also Ethiopian and very friendly, making everything even more authentic. The dishes are flavorful and unique, especially the meat and vegetable dish, truly delicious, served on injera bread.
But a thousand points go to their chickpea cream, shirò, and their tuntumu (lentils).
The fried appetizers filled with meat and lentils are also a discovery: crispy, tasty, and perfect for starting dinner. There's a wide selection of wines, too.
A place I absolutely recommend if you want to try something different and authentic!

Roma
15/10/2025: Excellent restaurant. The interior is charming and appropriate. The service is friendly and efficient, and the dishes are fabulous, tasty, and delicious. The prices are also more than fair.
15/10/2025: A wonderful experience. I won't share the names of the dishes I ordered, but I think the photos are self-explanatory. The final treat: the freshly brewed traditional coffee.

ABISSINIA
Latina
16/11/2025: Family-friendly restaurant, amazing dinner, friendly staff!
I went there with my partner just last night for our anniversary. As soon as we entered, the warm and welcoming atmosphere and the owner made us feel at home.
After a small appetizer, we chose the "no stop" menu, which consists of six courses, each with six different sauces, accompanied by a typical piadina. You can also sample the dishes, if you're feeling hungry!
You can also order à la carte, but the tasting menu allows you to try as many traditional dishes as possible at a very reasonable price.
The owner, like the other woman in the dining room, comes to your table to explain the various courses and guides you through the entire tasting experience.
We'll definitely be back, hungrier than ever!
26/10/2025: A truly welcoming Ethiopian restaurant, with an atmosphere that makes you feel at home. The girls are incredibly kind and always smiling.
The food is plentiful, tasty, and beautifully cooked. We had the "No Stop" for €20 with an appetizer, which includes a sampling of six different sauces. I recommend coming very hungry, because we were exhausted by the fourth sauce! For those who prefer, there's also the option of ordering à la carte, but for your first time, the tasting menu is ideal.
I recommend it for a different kind of dinner and to try new flavors!

Ristorante Africano Enqutatash
Roma
07/12/2025: Excellent quality food and super friendly staff ☺️ highly recommended
24/11/2025: If I had to choose one word to describe our dinner, it would be: awful.
We booked through The Fork, and the owner must not have liked this (as he himself confirmed at the end of the dinner), in fact, the welcome was rather cold.
We sat down; he tried to be friendly, and at first, he even succeeded. It quickly became clear that we couldn't choose what to eat for an appetizer: he dictated, under the guise of helping us and explaining the dishes, what he would bring us.
Okay, fine. That's fine.
The "tasters" arrived, which were actually quite generous portions, and we devoured them with gusto. Immediately after we finished the last bite of couscous, we realized, reluctantly, that we had also been stripped of the power to decide how to proceed with the dinner: he explained that we should eat with our hands and share, because food is union, two plates as a centerpiece.
Okay, this time too. Okay, we didn't understand much, but we couldn't help but trust the goodwill of whoever had forced dinner on us, aware that we'd lost the right to speak and even to think once we crossed that threshold.
These famous plates arrived: they were enormous and packed with food we hadn't chosen and that, at this point, we had no choice but to try.
The problem was that they were far too abundant: there were three of us plus a child, and there was food for at least six people.
The proof, if any more were needed, is that the only table besides ours, made up of four adults, only had one of those large centerpiece plates. Maybe they chose it, maybe not, but it doesn't matter: the quantity is significantly different.
Of course, we didn't finish either of the two centerpieces, reluctantly. Because throwing away food is a sin and it's bad for you. Not for the owner, who didn't bat an eyelid when he took away all that goodness.
We were bursting at the seams, including the child.
The surprise came with the bill: €113. Three adults and a child. At an African restaurant. Reading the bill, you can see that we were charged an exorbitant amount of dishes, things we didn't choose and that we knew we'd never be able to eat, if only we'd been able to order as is right and normal when going out for dinner.
However, he offered us a dessert (always imposed) that we weren't interested in and three liqueurs, perhaps necessary to at least try to kick-start our laborious digestion.

Sapori D'Africa
Roma
Davvero andateci e nom sarete delusi!!!
