05/10/2025: A welcoming, family-run restaurant just steps from the Castle, offering excellent homemade food. The owner is incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming, serving and describing his dishes with passion and energy. Each dish has a story and a reason for being there, and we were treated to a meticulous service throughout the meal, as were the other diners at the tables. Delicious food in a delightful atmosphere. We will definitely be back, and we sincerely thank the owner for the welcome and unexpected gift of a lovely bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, which we will drink to his health! Highly recommended, and see you soon!
02/10/2025: Visited yesterday for lunch with friends, all experts in wine, terroir, and food. First-class hospitality and a meticulously curated menu, crafting ideas using top-quality local ingredients (grains, herbs, flowers, and select meats) crafted with inspiration and substance. Whether it's grain risotto with herbs and dandelion petals, or pork stew, or lamb with local herbs, you're spoiled for choice. Sandro Baliva manages everything with care, passion, and a surprising knowledge of the rural culture of the past, which he respectfully reinterprets in his dishes. A bonus is the location, just steps from Piccolomini Castle, and the view of the Fucino valley.

05/08/2025: We stayed at the Questura, a fabulous property with a very welcoming room and a bathroom with all the comforts. In the evening, we dined on the terrace, despite the cool air. We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the breakfast was plentiful, and there was something for everyone. The staff were helpful and very kind, including the owner!
I absolutely recommend it.

01/09/2025: Last day of opening before the holidays: warm welcome and pleasant atmosphere. For my appetizer, I chose the arrosticini: very good flavor, but let down by the sloppy plating that made them almost resemble a can of dog food. The maltagliati, unfortunately, didn't impress: the seasoning was barely perceptible and the flavor was undefined. The lamb casserole also wasn't convincing, with flavors that were too delicate and lacking in punch. A real shame, because for a €44 dinner, I expected more satisfaction and a few more surprises.
19/08/2025: Excellent food and value. The dishes use top-quality ingredients. The wine list is good, though not particularly extensive, which isn't a problem at all, but makes choosing easier. The staff is very kind and friendly. The experience is worth repeating.

17/08/2025: The hotel is in an excellent location near the highway and the town, with all amenities close by, yet immersed in the tranquility of the countryside with its pleasant sounds. The staff is very welcoming, kind, and always available. The owners immediately make you feel at ease. The room is always spotless and tidy. The restaurant is also excellent.

11/05/2025: I was there for dinner this evening. We took a cheese tasting appetizer (very good), the other of the cured meats not so good due to the various salamis that were on the palate. The chef was kind enough to divide the 2 appetizers into equal parts without our request so that we could eat a taste of everything. First we took 2 very good imperial risottos but the price was slightly excessive, €23 for each risotto. Good coffee and bitter homemade limoncello with fabulous coastal lemons, I went back 3 years. Overall a good dinner even if the price of €85 discounted instead of €89 invites you to return for the owner's treatment, however excessive: 2 starters, 2 first courses, 1 glass of rosé and a coffee and bitters. Service quite slow. Very strong point is the terrace overlooking the castle where I hope they will return to exhibit it with spectacular aperitifs in the summer period

14/09/2025: Beautiful property just 3 minutes from the center of Celano. We've used it several times as a starting point for hikes. Private indoor parking. Spacious, clean rooms with air conditioning and refrigerator. Breakfast starts at 8:00, but for those like us with different needs, you can make your own earlier with products (jams, Nutella, yogurt, milk, tea, coffee maker, and tart) left available. The owner is very kind and also gave us suggestions for restaurants and hikes.
31/08/2025: Excellent, welcoming, and quiet place. Efficient service and helpfulness. I recommend it to everyone.

It's not a given in this historical moment to find the kind of welcome and love you find when you step inside Ristorante Da Rita.
Carefully prepared food, homemade with love, just like grandma would make it.
The first courses are excellent no matter what you choose, generous portions and local ingredients.
The second courses are as good as the first courses, as are the side dishes.
The kindness of the owners, however, is the true value of this restaurant, which deserves every star possible and more.
The pizza is superb and worth a try. Easy to digest, well-seasoned, thin, and delicious!!!!
Make a reservation so you don't miss out!
Suitable for families with children, who will be pampered like only aunts, uncles, and grandparents can.
We just left and are already planning to return!!!!

21/07/2025: This restaurant is located along the highway and is worth stopping by for a quick lunch. Gluten-free pasta is also available. The entrees were delicious and well-portioned. The service was friendly and quick. The price was average.
