Ristorante Avorio In Bologna

Excellent hotel, congratulations!!! It is located right across from the main station in Bologna, and still retains its beauty, peace, and cleanliness. It looks almost renovated, the staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and HUGE, the air conditioning works perfectly, the breakfast is very high quality and varied enough. The ratio of price and quality is top ten! The only downsides are that late at night due to the proximity of the main station, it might not be the smartest thing to sit alone (although we didn't have any problems or saw any potential problems, there were no suspicious guys, incidents, etc.) and the lack of slippers in the room (if that's a downside it is clear to you that there are none in fact). If I come back, I will stay here again.

Beautiful hotel, nice facilities, clean, efficient. Big disappointment which does not make us want to come back: we had chosen this hotel as the last of our stay in Italy, it was the only one which received our little dog badly: a first dinner at the hotel restaurant/bar (Fondente) upon our arrival where we are entitled to a reflection because our little dog must not walk too much (we always keep him in a basket, and we are talking about a dwarf dachshund, a small dog therefore...). The next morning we had breakfast in the hotel's second restaurant, where we found ourselves parked on the terrace between the noisy kitchen, the open parking lot windows and the customers who wanted to smoke... Because we have our little dog (this this time which did not touch the ground because it was carried in a basket..). Extremely disappointed to be treated like this in a hotel of this standard! We will not return and do not recommend at all. What a poor welcome with our cute and well-behaved little dog. It didn't bother anyone, except the hotel surprisingly. So: remove the mention “pets allowed” because that is not the case. It is shameful :( A good point: the reception at reception is impeccable and the cleaning of the rooms is also impeccable: during your breakfast, a house fairy comes by and everything is put back in order very quickly, perfect. It was great.

Pricey for the room size but outstanding service staff

Great value for money. We asked for a room with shower and it was perfect. Helpful staff. Luggage can be stored free of charge after check out. If you plan visiting other cities, proximity to the train station helps.

Hotel in a strategic position near the center of Bologna. Tidy and clean rooms, air conditioning not sufficient to cool the room as necessary even by acting on the regulator keypad. Staff at reception perhaps a little cold and annoyed. Overall I would recommend the hotel. Adjacent paid parking very well managed.

🌟 StarHotels Excelsior left us content but not enchanted. Unfortunately, our arrival was marked by a significant misstep with the check-in process, leaving a poor first impression. The room was decent, though a bit dated, but we lacked nothing. The atmosphere is chic, and the location opposite the train station is convenient for arrivals and departures, though it's a good 20-minute walk to the city center. The breakfast was good, but the gym is tiny and not well-equipped. Overall, it's a decent hotel where we lacked nothing, but it didn't leave us impressed. 🚂🏨🍽️

Clean, very good breakfast (children up to 11 years old do not pay), close to the station, so the hotel is a bit of a transfer. Pleasant service, no problems with storing luggage. Worth recommending.
