Business dinner, alone. Very interesting restaurant with top quality food and interesting combinations. A small welcome appetizer and a small dessert to finish with coffee were appreciated. Elegant setting but the staff were very courteous and attentive, after all in Ferrara everyone smiles. Average to high prices but justified by the type of restaurant. At the entrance there are some recognitions from famous awards, Michelin, Gambero Rosso and others. Better to book. See you next time.

The tasting menu is of a good standard, with tasty dishes, in my opinion it lacks some spark of originality that could surprise. Comfortable and not very noisy environment. Quick service in timing but perhaps a little too detached.

Dinner with friends in what is certainly an excellent restaurant, the dishes are special and the quality can be tasted in every course and are served in a refined environment perhaps a little "narrow" inside but in summer you can enjoy a pleasant outside. The service in the room is impeccable but the waiting times are sometimes long. The prices are consequently medium high and in any case compliments.

This will not be a standard restaurant review. As a matter of fact, it all started with an accident in that due to a communication breakdown the restaurant was closed the evening we had booked as they were operating somewhere else... But Signora Flavia resolved the situation brilliantly and we were treated to an excellent dinner few days after. Firstly we learned that the quirky name of the restaurant comes from a Steinbeck's novel which is quite intriguing in itself. Secondly the venue is not big but very slick, well lit and comfortable. Thirdly and more importantly, we had an excellent dinner. Piccola started with a sort of pumpkin balls dressed with a parmigiano sauce and I bravely went for pickled anchovies and eel, both delicious. Fish fritto misto followed for both and it was one of the lightest I ever had. We then finished with a wild berry sorbet and a "torta tenerina" which is a light chocolate cake and a local staple. Wine was good as well as grappa etc etc... Ferrara is a beautiful city with some interesting things to see, the Estensi castle being top of the list and a relaxed, provincial atmosphere. And as to restaurants, well, you now know where to call first.

Cosa dire ancora, in questo piccolo ristorante ti senti accolto, coccolato e rispettato come persona oltre che come cliente. Piatti ben preparati e ben presentati, che siano di pesce o di terra. Dopo antipasti perfetti, cappelleti con tartufo nero (marzolino) da oscar, un fritto di pesce che come al solito è risultato leggero, croccante, super digeribile. Poi dolci buonissimi e un paio di sorprese con piattini extra che tutte le volte ci stupiscono e ci gratificano. Poi che dire dei vini scelti con competenza e dei lievitati, pane e stuzzichini home made super sfiziosi. Il tutto per un conto che è giusto anzi giustissimo vista la qualità di quello che viene proposto e del servizio come sempre inappuntabile.
