22/07/2025: Let me start by saying that I had over 20 mosquitoes in my room right upon entering, which I had to get rid of to function normally.
The reception staff have a strange attitude towards customers standing at the counter. There's a line of people, the lady finishes serving the customer, I approach the counter next, and the lady answers the phone and chats for a few minutes. Other reception staff wander behind her, seemingly aimlessly, and the line is several people long. I understand that phone calls are also important, but people waiting in line don't feel taken seriously.
The same applies to check-out. I waited about 20 minutes to return my card. There was a line at the reception desk, but only one person was on duty.
After checking in, I discovered an electrical problem. During my stay, the room keeps ejecting my card, meaning all the lights go out and the air conditioning turns on full. This happens several times a day. Of course, the issue has been reported, but to no avail.
In the evenings, water started dripping heavily from the shower head in the bathroom (which I wasn't using), and I had to turn the tap on and off – I reported it, but to no avail.
The internet works, but there are also problems. It drops out at random times, logs me out, and subsequent login attempts are cumbersome and often unsuccessful – it works after a few or a dozen minutes, making it difficult to work with such a connection. The receptionist kept explaining that I should only log in with my email address, without listening to what I was saying or what the problem was. Only the next receptionist listened and assured me that she would forward the matter to the IT department.
The phone service is a joke. I called reception to report a problem with the internet, and the receptionist simply hung up.
I called room service to ask about cutlery – the receptionist also simply hung up without a word.
While at reception, I asked to order a cooler. The lady told me to order by phone, contacting room service, so I called the room service, and the gentleman who answered the phone told me to call the front desk with that request. When I replied that the lady at the front desk had directed me to them, he simply hung up... I can't believe it!
Breakfasts are okay if you're staying here for a few days, but the longer you stay, the worse it gets (monotonous).
The breakfast service itself is average. There are two breakfast locations: one here, one there, which is manageable, of course :)
The coffee machines sometimes malfunction, dispensing only water instead of coffee. Tea is often served with kettles filled with milk instead of water. The breakfast service is helpful!
The hotel is often visited by buses of tourists. Breakfast was often crowded, and you had to wait in line for food (the buffet).
The gym is a plus; you can use it without any problems. The equipment works properly and is of good quality.
The billiards table at the reception is also a plus. The housekeeping service was good. The rooms were cleaned daily. The bed was comfortable. Water was provided daily in a carton from the hotel. The room had extra glass that could be used to mute sounds from outside the hotel and the hallway, which was very helpful for rest (at night, tourists arrived and could be heard through the walls). You could also hear someone in the next room using the light switches, trying to guess which one was for the coffee machine by clicking them repeatedly, which could be irritating. The rooms were pleasant and clean. Depending on the floor, there was an iron or a vending machine with drinks and snacks on the first floor in the hallway. The hotel itself was located in a very quiet area. The hotel was huge.
22/07/2025: I stayed at the Hotel Expo Milano for a weekend during a trade fair, and the experience was truly positive.
The location is one of its main strengths: it's just minutes from the exhibition center and well-connected by public transportation. For those traveling for work or events, it's truly convenient.
The hotel is modern, clean, and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and equipped with all the necessary amenities: a comfortable bed, fast Wi-Fi, a TV, a minibar, and a spacious shower. The quietness in the rooms is another plus, considering the busy area.
The breakfast is varied and plentiful, with a good mix of sweet and savory options, fresh products, and friendly service. The on-site restaurant is also worthy of note: carefully prepared dishes, quality ingredients, and a friendly staff.
A special mention goes to the staff: always available, professional, and ready to accommodate any need.
The only small drawback: there's a fee for parking, but given the location, that's understandable.
