02/07/2026: A lovely place to stop, take a breather, and grab a bite to eat. Very friendly staff and a moka pot of coffee round out an experience I recommend to everyone. Excellent value.
26/06/2026: Osteria Nunziatina in Caserta, as a prominently displayed blackboard proclaims, offers authentic cuisine, based on the search for simple ingredients, authentically crafted in dishes crafted with skill and meticulous attention to rural culinary art, while respecting the local gastronomic identity. The location is intimate and comfortable. The service is friendly and discreet, not inclined to overindulge, but capable of recommending the right balance to best appreciate the dishes. Among our "childhood memories," we selected two first courses: Vermicelli from Pastificio Di Martino (100% Italian wheat) with Nubia red garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, fennel, and a garnish of salted Montella ricotta, and Pasta Mischiata (also from Pastificio Di Martino) with potatoes, provola, and mountain oregano. Two boldly flavored dishes that were truly delightful to the palate. For the "substance of memory," we chose Cicirinnella tripe with carrots, tomato, onion, celery, and black pepper: a solid, popular, and mouth-watering dish. As a side dish, we had "arruscate" potatoes, traditional Campania-style fried potatoes cooked in a pan with plenty of oil until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, seasoned with crusco peppers and Majatica extra virgin olive oil, a delight for the eye as well as the palate. To accompany the meal, two glasses of "Coda di Volpe" (Volpe Cod). A delightful dinner to round off a day spent visiting the Royal Palace.
